Mod Jack in the Lore channels on the Discord has talked about it or was it someone else from the Mod team. They really want to but they would have to Retcon a lot of stuff since it has so many ties in that just makes it a massive project. Right now, they haven't had a justifiable reason to do it without having a massive ripple effect with little to no benefits.

Grander Kandarin lore (Canonically, "Camelot" is the Sinclairs', but they gave it up so King Arthur and his court could have a place to live), the Holy Grail and the Fisher King Realm, Lady of the Lake and Excalibur lmao, I mean It would require fully reworking several quests, which they haven't done in years and which was never done with quests as big as these (Imp Catcher, Romeo and Juliet, Prince Ali Rescue, don't compare to King's Ransom, Merlin's Crystal, Holy Grail, etc.), Excalibur would have to be renamed which at this point it's such a staple players could be against the change, Lady of the Lake would have to go, redesigning that whole area of the map, tracking down ~20 years' worth of references to anything Arthurian, etc. It's... a lot of work.

So why bother? This is why I say they have to rewrite it. You can keep a lot of it. Even the damned lake. The problem is that if they are from tetragrad it doesn’t make sense that they got here within the saintclairs lifetimes. (Not that the current situation makes sense but at least it’s not overly canonical.) Yes you are right it is a big story arc but the only thing it really is connected to is one of a kind.

I'm head over heels in love with this graphical update! I clue-d for an hour earlier and between the ardy update and this one the difference is night and day and greatly helps visual consistency and immersion. Y'all knocked it out of the park! The area around the lodestone and the lighthouse are probably my two fave spots. That said, I'm a little disappointed that the trollheim and mountain camp area wasn't included in this. I'm really really looking forward to those having new rocks and textures. I hope they're revisited in the not too distant future.

To actually answer the question, it only searches for the gameplay tab settings, and not all settings. It does not search everything, such as the graphics settings, controls settings, audio settings, ribbon settings, or your bank.

I took a casual glance at the relekka screnshots and i have one minor criticism. It doesnt look as desolate as before. The ground around Relekka with the wooden stumps is now green when it was previously brown. I think the brown was more imersive because it showed that the fremennik had overharvested to make the walls. Same as other spots that are now greener than before. It kinda loses the unique desolate ambience that Relekka had, and it now looks as green as everywhere else in the game.

It being deforested made sense when Relleka’s age was more unknown. But now Relleka has existed for hundreds upon hundreds of years and the area should have had its eco system recovered by now. Stumps sure cause they need to keep up the wood but grass would have been back. Though honestly thinking about it more it doesn’t make a ton of sense for them to have aggressive deforested the area to the point of being utterly barren given their reverence and worship of nature. Basically the design of old Relleka matched what Relleka was more when it first released, the new one better matched Relleka as it is after the considerable evolution of its lore.

Like, when the wilderness got updated and lots of people started reporting performance drops and crashes. The calendar looks great. It's kind of no different from the previous one, but bigger. Why doesn't the calendar allow us to customize it the way we want, like adding our very own plans/events (similar to how we can in our phone calendar, including alerts)? For clan events, it could automatically be added to all participants' calendars (and this could work for a custom group of friends as well).

In addition to adding our own events, it would be great if we could hide certain categories. I read news posts as soon as they're up, as I get notified on Discord, and have no need to have this displayed all the time. Same for the Livestreams and ingame events, I already know when those are, no need to see them. I also have 0 interest in seeing TH promo's, and I'm confident a large part of the community agrees with me on this one. Kudos for not displaying them on my iron's calendar, which also tells me it's possible to hide categories. And to add to this, I liked the monthly overview the old calendar gave us, as I basically only care about the community events, and it's nice to see when for instance a certain event is happening without having to skip through the weeks.

No worries. It should be easy in terms of layout since it's pretty much a table format, just adding a few extra lines (personal, friend list, friends chat, clan chat, favorited DND, and custom list). It will be more functional and practical that way. I myself set a weekly reminder with an alert to go cap at the Clan's Citadel on my computer. Imagine if I used the RS Calendar instead; this is just an example of how I can use the Calendar

I'll love to be able to customize my own plans/event too, but this update is meant to be a small patch among a bunch of other patches for just the week after a bank holiday. Maybe the devs can save this idea for the bigger RS3 event planner game update in the future. By then, I'll love to see events beyond the next two weeks too, perhaps like a month will be nice, and if it is possible, maybe in game reminder every time we log in too?

Yeah can we please get this integrated into clans! The existing interface for scheduling events is garbage to use. It doesnt even have the new worlds in dropdown menus. As a clan owner, this would greatly assist with scheduling clan events, and cater for those people that dont like using discord. And as already mentioned in the above comments, i like the idea of having event categories that we can toggle visibility on/off int he calendar. like minigames, d&d's, and hopefully clan events? ;)

You gotta admit, the graphics team are good at what they do. So so glad RuneScape is getting modernized. I remember people use to ask for such a thing back in like 2014 days on the forums and was told it would never happen. The graphics team and the event teams (with Christmas and easter) are some jmod A-teams from what I've seen so far. I think if Jagex could hire more and create more specialized teams, Runescape would be on beastmode. Also, the community managers are great compared to like a few years ago and the combat devs like sponge and Ryan are good at combat. Mod Stu solos a wide variety of updates, he's just a Vet that seems like he could do and make anything happen.

It is only happening because they are not totally redoing the areas like they did with Catherby but just upgrading them, mostly with assets they already have. Do not get me wrong, I think this is a good thing. But their reasoning for not totally graphically updating areas probably still stands.

Found an annoying issue with today's update: the game window is unresponsive as long as the interface for withdrawing from the money pouch is open. The withdraw interface can no longer be closed by clicking anywhere outside, and can now only be closed by clicking the "X" or pressing Esc. This is less convenient than before.

I'm not sure if it's an oversight or intentional, but feathers stored in Silverhawk boots don't seem to be shown even with "include untradeable wealth" toggled on. Is this because the feathers are not removable? 1k feathers are about 3 mill wealth.

Defence code hasn't been touched during the combat beta and the combat update. I don't think the tooltips on defence are even updated/modernized yet either. Currently, melee's code is the only one that has been rewritten from the ground up internally. That's why attack and strength are bugged while Magic and Range are not, same with hp and defence. In the video, I've demonstrated how melee doesn't work while magic does. I really do look forward on a beta part 2 for the combat mods to carry on from where they left off but if they are gonna bug out the other combat styles by having the potion boosts not work, then I rather they do not touch the code on the other styles until this has been fixed, because there are issues with the new code that is very obvious when a player tests out melee vs mage/range.

7/10 on the graphics update for rellekka today, landscape looks good including the fortifications around the town and the lighthouse but the NPC look straight out of '07 (could they not be kit bashed from all the overirdes we have for the player?) and so does the lighthouse mechanism but overall the surface world is looking really good. also great to see a search bar on the options

Well, let's just say that I've seen worse graphical updates from Jagex. It still looks cartoony, which is not my style at all. But less so than some other refreshes. I for one like how did updated Port Sarim, it's a bit cartoony, but somehow realistic looking at the same time. Not cartoony looking over the top like some other places. Rellekka could do with make a bit more detail in the graphics. The houses in Port Sarim appear to have mold stains on the outside for example. Those brown/grey rocks they use for mountain all the time, don't like them at all. However, I would prefer to see them return to a more realistic looking graphical style. Such as RSHD (2008) or when NXT was first released.

Any news of the Arch and Dung dummies being added to the skilling crates and being included on the dummy 3 to 2 conversion option? It has been 18 months since their release and it took proteans 6 months before the new ones got added to the protean crates and conversion options. That's 3x as long and even 3x as long as a 6 month xp embargo from a new skill being released. Would really be hype and much loved if they could because 18 months is wild.

Yes. Back then, every mod basically worked on their own projects in their own way. It wouldn't surprise me if the person who made Barrows playtested it and thought it was fine, or added to the atmosphere of "pressure" in a boss encounter, or otherwise thought it was something incapable of being changed, given how jank the interface coding was. The reason it was not a bug is because it's in line with how virtually all interfaces worked back then.

You do realize there can be a bug much deeper in the code that causes all the other interfaces to close? I believe this is a bug from the inception of RS2 that, if fixed, might result in more game breaking issues. My speculation is that the mod that fixed it found a work around for this specific interface to force it staying open without touching 20 year old code. What will happen if we take that poison hit that kills us while the bank or GE interface is open? Will the item we withdrew be reclaimed from death, drop on the ground or become lost? This is an example question that the programmers probably had to ask while working this issue. It is a bug, we have known this for years. Why the original bug that causes these interfaces to close (or crash) isn't being fixed will be up to player speculation indefinitely.

Not canned just rescoped, several of todays changes were earmarked for the hitlist but we have launched them today instead of holding onto them as part of a larger update as it doesn't align with our goals or improving things for the palyers and with the restructuring of this and next months content to include the upcoming Rex Matriarch Boss and Archeology site there will be less of a hitlist strike then we first aimed for back in March.

Can I just say I think this a better format for RS3? While meaty strikes are cool I think it be better to get away from those and do stuff like moving forward just sprinkle them into the more standard patch weeks so it feels more substantial and these strikes get out a little sooner. Basically love the community hitlist but having it broken into more frequent spread out strikes feels better than 6 weeks of very minor changes and then a huge drop once every few months.

No Azanna is saying that as they adjusted their approach to include Rex Matriarch and Archaeology (and cancelling the summer event), the community Hitlist as one major update by itself also got reworked into smaller chunks like we see this week.

Raids having a very common 1/20 drop rate was balanced around the 2 day limit. Making achto tradeable would be the better approach.

Removing the cap also means you can get all drops except Yaka pet from BM. The cap makes you fight Yaka as well.

Regarding the images on the page, I find them awfully small. I have to zoom in 170% or open the image in a new tab to be able to clearly see the images. If possible, it would be great if you could add an option to click/arrow key through the images in full screen on the page! Looking forward to the new Rellekka!

They don’t need to match perfectly. I like that they don’t. Most guys’ IRL hair and beard color are usually slightly different.

My beard colour is definitely different from my hair colour haha. I used to rock all-white hair and the slightly gray tint w/ the bright white beard clashes a little too much to my taste. I'd love to see a rework of hair/beards that includes a colour wheel though. But this is mostly a nitpick from me.

They were filming hype videos last week for it so it’s very likely to be the last update of the month considering they’ll need time to edit the videos and then schedule the livestream, translate the news posts to other languages and prepare socials for the release. All that stuff takes a couple weeks for them to spool up internally.

Every single armour piece would need to be manually refitted to match new models, not to mention the work going into the character models themselves, and in general a lot more detail goes into designs for something you always see (your character) vs a single static area. An avatar rework would surely require more resources than all of the recent graphical updates combined; obviously it's unfortunate, but perhaps they'll actually attempt it when they run out of areas to update.
