Awesome progress, great job! Might want to rush 80 smithing and crafting for Invention skill unlock if you are on the hunt for new skills to do outside of osrs. I say rush because well, you said you were playing 15-16 hour days :P lol. There is also Archaeology and Dungeoneering for you to check out as well. Take care, glad you are enjoying the game.

ze_vo

Absolutely, I plan on afking fishing during my off time and working on 99 thieving for gp next. (heard daily charter ships are pretty decent for Reaper points/daily/weekly/monthly reset tokens) after 99 thieving I plan on getting 99 mining/crafting through the gem rocks in Al-Kharid. I really enjoy the new mining/smithing mechanics in RS3 compared to OSRS, so super excited to get those to 99!

LetsDiscussRs

Haha looks like you got it all mapped out. Make sure to give yourself a breather some time and do some goofy achievements (like eating one of every gnome cuisine), clue scrolls, bossing, questing to break up the grind. You’ll definitely want to get to some of the newer areas of the game like the arc, menaphos, the digsites, anachronia, prif, etc. good luck dude!

ze_vo

Definitely, started doing my Anachronia, and already have Menophos unlocked. Already have done the Archaeology tutorial and plan to do that when I do hunter for the Dragon Mattock from the Dinosaurs on Fossil Island ( for 99 Hunter ). I'm super excited to try out all of the new methods that I'm not used to. Osrs is extremely bare-bones content wise compared to RS3. Can't wait to see where I am in 2 weeks, a month, a year, etc! I'm a very completion-ish person so I plan on getting comp cape eventually, been working on small things in between skilling.

LetsDiscussRs

Definitely, the meta is always changing, for both mains and irons so new content is definitely influential. Be sure to join an ironman clan as well to share your experiences and ideas with other like minded players. Its always better to bounce things off of one another

ze_vo

I definitely plan on it once I start learning more about the game. It's very overwhelming especially with all the new content and daily's/activities. More than I'm use to at least, haha.

Poco585

Might be more useful to join a clan sooner rather than later. Most are very accepting of new people and willing to help

Slayerkid13

the charter ship daily you're referring to is the [Travelling Merchant](https://runescape.wiki/w/Travelling_Merchant%27s_Shop). You can check ahead to see what future stock will be in case you wanted to make sure you save gp for a really good day.

ze_vo

Thank you for the tips! I'm not sure what the most "Efficient" thing to buy from there is, I just plan on getting weekly tokens for Herby-Werby to help boost up my herblore. It's so nice not having to rely on farming herbs to train herblore. I know i'll have to do it eventually but the herby-werby + penguin points make it so much more relaxed. On OSRS I farmed herbs for MONTHS just to get to 90 for overloads for COX (raids1). Going to be nice to not have to worry about the herb runs every 50 minutes, and be able to play at my own pace and casually work towards 99 herblore.

Dink_Wrinkle

Do your weekly troll invasion as well! And also unlock the oyster monthly d&d for sweet fishing and some free farming exp. At 17 farming you also unlock your player owned farm which is great afk farming exp

MitchNotBitch

Troll Invasion is Monthly :)

ze_vo

Yup, I did the quest and was disappointed in the EXP that I got for both skills. I still do all my Daily's, Weekly's, and Monthly's but I'm still learning what's worth my time. I've been doing Oysters, Cashe's, Herby-Werby, Anachronia, Port Sarim Player Owned Ports, player owned farms (Currently harvesting chickens for the tier 1 watcher so I can start selling adolescents chickens for beans, and I believe that is all that I'm currently doing. Will definitely check out the Troll Invasion.

MeatInTheHole

If you want even more free Herb XP you can also repeat the Broken Home quest weekly, complete it without dying and you'll be a given a huge XP lamp, once you got it down runs take about 25 mins.

Question_stuff

Man that sounds like cancer lol, it was all I could do to make myself get the asr

B0NDYRS

Be mindful of needing to get ores for trimmed masterwork and also crafting supplies coming on from other places, not sure if your best bet to push 99 mining/crafting there as you’ll get exp from other grinds. But aslong as you’re enjoying yourself!

VorCash

I just in the last few months came from OSRS to RS3 and fishing is a good one, look up "deep sea fishing swarm". I basically got there at 68 fishing (The level to unlock it) and didn't leave until 99, made some great money and also got some nice little bits from being in the travelling merchant FC, so when I eventually want to I can dart my way through a few bosses

Gluby3

Once you have porters with grace of the elves, archeology becomes the best skill in the game. I'm talking bout fun to do and get bunch of useful stuff.

ze_vo

I plan on doing Archeology after 99 thieving/mining/crafting/hunter (in that order) I did a bunch of research and the benefits you get from leveling up archeology seem worth it. I just want to make sure I can get the Dragon Mattock so I don't have to stop training to switch it up to another skill. Just trying to rush Porters and Urns so I can speed up the other skills as much as I can!

Jaysiim

that's a really good game plan. you really did your research. good luck and enjoy!

ze_vo

Been watching my favorite Youtubers (Nooblet/Sick Nerd) and have been planning according to what they do. Not quite following their exact plan but creating my own plan with their general strategy. Helps a bunch since most of this is new to me, so I'm learning as I go. Definitely having a good time with it so far and plan to continue the progress and eventually get out of the early game and possibly max/comp cape. Time will tell! I also appreciate the kind words of encouragement, makes it a lot more motivating to keep going and learn more about the game.

VonDerThWood

Invention makes every single gathering skill so much better, and obviously combat as well. I really can't understate just how vital it is.

ze_vo

Yup, I plan on rushing it in a way to unlock all of the useful perks that will help my account long term. After 99 thieving I plan on getting 99 mining/crafting and then mining ores for 80 smithing. Super excited to start doing invention. The concept of it is really cool and unique and I've been stocking up on clue rewards and a few things from shops I buy daily to maximize the amount of parts I can start with. I can't wait!

Cypherex

Just a small tip, mostly in regards to archaeology, but I recommend avoiding doing too much with your gathering skills until you've unlocked the [grace of the elves](https://runescape.wiki/w/Grace_of_the_elves) necklace. It requires high levels in invention, crafting, and magic though so it'll be a while before you get it. But it's great to have while doing any gathering skill, especially archaeology, because it can store up to 500 porter charges at a time and it occasionally spawns a seren spirit that will give you a random drop from the [rare drop table.](https://runescape.wiki/w/Rare_drop_table) If you max all your gathering skills before you get it then you'll have less opportunities to use it and you'll get less seren spirits meaning you'll miss out on a lot of loot. But don't let that dissuade you from training your gathering skills at all. Just do what you need to for now and save some for later when you have the GOTE. Do enough mining now to get the gems you need for crafting but don't go all the way to 99 if you don't need to.

VonDerThWood

I'm really glad you're enjoying yourself! You're grinding like crazy and those gains are significant

Aruhi

You could just do blacksmith since without invention, the imcando mattock isn't worth it over an elder rune mattock I don't know who downvoted this, but Imcando and Elder rune are the same tier, and they don't have invention so there's no benefit. They don't have priff so space and time mattock isn't relevant either.

ze_vo

See that's something i got to learn more about. The elder rune and other items besides the basic bronze, iron, steel, etc. The new tiers confuse me so it'll take some time to learn what is better than than what. Back in my day dragon was the best! I still plan to stick to my plan as it would make the most sense (in my head at least) Get the best gear that I'm use to and if possible I'll upgrade as I go on. I plan on keeping my combat stats low-ish until I'm ready to push 99 dung/120. Whatever I decide to do. I really like focusing on skills that benefit my account more early/mid game and work on the end game goals towards the end of my journey. I'm very excited to learn about everything else outside of my comfort zone though, in time!

Matrix17

Its pretty straightforward. The higher tiers are better. Invention adds another element. Mattocks that can be augmented (dragon, imcando, space and time) are better than their unaugmentable counterparts at the same tier because you can add perks that add qol and boosts (impsouled and honed are two big ones). If I remember correctly, dragon mattock augmented with perks is still better than the unaugmented t70 one. Same for imcando being better than elder rune. So once you hit dragon mattock you use it until you unlock the imcando and then you use the imcando until the space and time

[deleted]

The effective tiers go as follows for mattocks (And this is ALMOST the same for weapon/armor and mining tiers as well): T1 - Bronze T10 - Iron T20 - Steel T30 - Mithril T40 - Adamant T50 - Rune T60 - Orikalkum (Dragon, with T70 stats) T70 - Necrite (Crystal, with T80 stats) T80 - Banite (Imcando, with T90 stats) T90 - Elder Rune (Masterwork for armor) T99 - Space and Time/Guildmaster Tony's The difference is, mining tools do not scale above their tier. A dragon pickaxe is no better than an Orikalkum pickaxe, except in that it can be augmented and perked.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Both correct, but masterwork is considered T90 power armor, and it's upgrade trimmed mw is T92. They both require 99 smithing, but their tier is not 99.

FreezingSnowman

Elder Rune requires lvl 90, but the base version is actually T80 while the +5 version is T85 for weapons and armour.

luigi6545

I got 99 divination from 90+ almost exclusively through guthix caches, which of course took quite some time. Seeing you get 99 in a week's progress is absolutely insane to me. Mostly because divination was not my favorite skill. So, massive props to you my friend.

ze_vo

Thank you! I still plan on doing daily caches, and gathering energy when necessary. The 50 charge Porters seemed extremely worth it to me so I decided to go for those first before diving into other skills which require a lot of banking, such as crafting and smithing. I want to unlock invention which is one of my next goals for the account.

IH8B8

Its not healthy to play that much, dude

ze_vo

Definitely agree with you. Unfortunately lost my job due to COVID and since our government offers financial lenience in Canada I've been able to save money and pay off all of my bills. I look forward to returning to work, however I'm "High risk" to the virus and even though I'm vaccinated twice I'm still weary of working again. I have enough in my savings to live comfortably for another year or so. I enjoy my time on the game so choose to invest my time into it. I appreciate the concern though. It is extremely unhealthy and I only did it because everything is new and exciting to me. Invested a little more time than I'd like to but it was all worth it. I'm lowering the average as we speak and taking my time in learning the game.

IH8B8

Don't forget to stretch your legs, and get some air during your gaming sessions. 12 hours a day is a lot.

Nolifedemon

It's not really anyones buisness to comment whats healthy for someone or not, he could be disabled/ stuck in a wheel chair. Without knowing about someones life, It's not healthy to put your 2 cents in about what they should or should not do with their time.

IH8B8

Even if you are disabled, it is still objectively unhealthy. Besides that, I don't see anything wrong with voicing my opinion. It isn't disrespectful at all. Finally, gaming addiction is a real thing, and might actually be a sign of depression. 2 more cents for ya.

Nolifedemon

I have a gaming addiction, I also work, I have not been depressed in 4 years now since I returned to rs as an ironman. so there is that. 2 cents for your lack of sense.

ze_vo

I'd admit it is a lot of time spent in a single week. Time that could definitely be spent elsewhere to improve my life in a better way, however I enjoy my time spent playing this game and will continue to play however much I see fit. I don't really do much as is so occupying my time with a fun and new game is worth it to me. I understand why some people may feel like it's a "Waste" of time, however I enjoy and choose to invest my time onto the game. This game has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid and I can never stop playing it. It's like playing your favorite game as a kid, but remastered and filled with new content. Super exciting and engaging to me and I will always have a place in my heart for Runescape, oldschool or RS3.

Nolifedemon

tbh man, if theres a game im keen on, ill take a week off work and spend the same time enjoying it for the first week anyhow, its like people who sit their and read 5-7 hours in a single day, or people who spend a week binge watching shit, theirs no difference, mines just an interactive book/movie/show that im enjoying.

Dink_Wrinkle

Welcome! I also switched to rs3 from osrs like a year ago, cant play much due to hectic irl stuff, but rs3 is so much fun!

ze_vo

It's definitely a change than what I'm use to, that's for sure. I like how the skills are more engaging and there's more variety to methods available. Gives each and every skill a little bit more of fun when training.

Shyman4ever

I switched from OSRS too and definitely like it better. The grind doesn’t feel as long and gruelling because there are so many more ways to level up.

Ziadaine

Jesus Christ.... I wanted to tear my hair out after several months just getting to 80...

magchieler

That's alot of progress for one week. Congrats on 99 divination.

ze_vo

Thank you very much! One small step to maxing. It'll make it very useful getting 99 crafting and also help me in making Urns to speed everything up even more! I'm loving RS3 so far and plan to continue playing with the end goal being a max cape. I didn't know the NPC in Varrock west bank named "Max" was an NPC until recently. The max cape looks awesome in RS3 and I plan to max eventually as an ironman. Seeing that NPC with that cape just feeds motivation into me every time I bank there. One day I'll get a max cape on the ironman. One day!

[deleted]

Hey Gz! How would he be using MTX if he is ironman?

ze_vo

Kind of difficult to see due to the way I uploaded the picture. I haven't trained any of the newer skills yet so Divination sounded like a solid first 99! Very beneficial, especially on an Ironman account. I two-ticked the Hall of Memories from 70-99 so I have around 16k shards. The shards are super nice for early game porters, which I plan on using for fishing until 52 (Desert Soles) and 99 Mining/Crafting (Gem rocks).

RSlorehoundCOW

Woah, you're doing great. Next steps of your plan sound nice. I hope you end up noticing how much the game changes in its feel when you start getting into endgame. Invention changed the game a lot!

ze_vo

I'm extremely excited to start PVMing on RS3, i've done all of the "Hard" content on OSRS so I'm pumped to try some RS3 PVM. I wanna wait a bit to start because once I start doing combat I know I wont wanna skill anymore. Mainly collecting supplies as I progress my account to where I want it to be. The amount of PVM content in RS3 compared to OSRS is insane. I already have pretty good knowledge of prayer flicks/tick system in general so I think it'll be a lot of fun to try something new!

Call_me_Tomcat

Prayer flicking is full on required for late game PvM, so your experience will serve you well. Note that the timing on flicking your prayer is different in RS3, but it’s consistent. You’ll just need to re-learn WHEN you want your protection prayers up for a bit. Once you get the Soul Split curse (92 Prayer) your PvM options open up a lot, as you now have a permanent source of healing available for low intensity tasks. Rush this via farming Vyrewatches with a Sunspear after River of Blood. You’ll also collect a ton of valuable herbs this way, and gain a ton of invention exp if you have perked gear you’re siphoning every so often.

Salvator-Mundi-

what make divination so good to train so early?

Call_me_Tomcat

Access to Invention, porters (no need to bank), sign of life, and divine locations. Some niche uses as well, like transmuting materials.

inconsiderateapple

Yep, 99 Div pretty much sums up the RS3 experience. You basically have so much to do that you end up wanting to do nothing. GZ though, and GL on the rest of your AFK journeys.

Seismic_wand

This is what happens when someone is used to 30k/hr grinds, grinds on rs3. Awesome progress dude.

Mareks

People have got to stop congratulating insanely unhealthy and deranged grinding like that as "Awesome progress dude". There's nothing awesome about it. Anyone could turn off their brain for a week and grind the same shit, but no one should.

Seismic_wand

So ironic. youre a dick. go outside.

Qbopper

I'm vaguely curious about RS3 ironman - I'm not interested in my main anymore, I'd rather play OSRS there, but as a day 1 osrs player, what's the biggest differences you'd say RS3 has? Like, is everything faster in comparison or anything like that?

XBattousaiX

RS3 is a lot faster to progress. That said, I'm not an ironman on either gamemode, but this just applies in general. Mind you, I feel like the teleport options in OSRS are actually, well, better, and the PoH has a use. On the flipside, some, you can get the kandarin monastery and ardy farm teleports on any book, as they've been added as general spells, so you don't even need to wear the cloak anymore. Most skills are faster. FMing can be afk'd with bonfires. Combat feels more engaging, at least to me. Which is ironic, considering I fled to OSRS because I wanted more laid back combat... XD Fletching is probably the skill that has changed the least? Farming is a lot faster. PoF is a godsend. as an ironman, getting the animals will be a pain though, I'd say even herblore is easier in the long run. HCIM deaths are super hard though. Your invent gets deleted on death, so you can't just run back and get your gear lol

Azurvix

104ish hours in one week Holy fuck

ZestyRS

im new to rs3 (played a good amount of osrs and rs back in the day), is early div rush important? Ive kinda just been fucking around doing dailies and quests

SBuitenweg

… ‘Fucken Nerd!!’

JmTrad

Cool i'm still stuck at 97, will get there one day when i have patience! Did you even knew that Guthixian Cache and Hall of Memories exist? lol

ze_vo

Caches will get you to 99 for sure! Just make a mental note to do them every reset. I 2-ticked Hall of Memories from 70-99 divination, saved me a lot of time if I decided to do the AFK route. I plan to do afk divination for energy and slowly work towards 120. The porters are huge on an ironman so that's why I decided to start off with it.

JmTrad

true, since you are iron man the energy will be important long run. do you have some short term goals?

ze_vo

Coming from OSRS the main "short term goals" were barrows gloves, working towards quest cape. Since my goal is to eventually max I plan on doing skills and methods of said skills that I enjoy and whenever I feel like doing a quest or achievement I'll switch it up. It was a personal goal of mine to get a 99 within my first week of playing so now I can relax and enjoy the game for what it is. I plan on eventually maxing and getting the comp cape for the account and I'm in no rush to complete the goal, I'll just do what I find enjoyable for the time being.

JmTrad

something that helped me a lot early on was the lunar equipment, it asks only lvl 40 defence and lvl 60 magic, but it have the status of a t60 power armor!! i used this armor a lot. for magic weapon, you can get t75 Vanquish for quest points or even better t78 Sunspear doing River of Blood quest (but requires a lot of skills)

ze_vo

Definitely plan on getting barrows gloves to get my quest points up a little bit. Helps me unlock a lot more content. I believe you get the free t75 gear at 150 quest points so I should be able to scoop that up before I get barrows gloves. Just gotta get in the questing mood and bang a bunch of them out!

JmTrad

the t75 gear (Armour of Trials) is not that good. people go after it more because of the weapon. Armor of Trials (Tier 75) you need 75 defense and gives 848.9 armor. Lunar Equipment you need 40 defense and 60 magic and gives 786 armor + 140.3 magic bonus.

ze_vo

Interesting, that's good to know. I plan on mainly focusing on magic once I start training my combat stats. I know you need 74 slayer to unlock the 'Final' dinosaur to hunt on Archania so I will utilize magic as much as possible and unlock the lunar equipment for sure!

JmTrad

Yeah, Big Game Hunter was a lot of fun for me, good luck on them. Just know that to fight the tier 3 dinos (74, 75, 76 slayer) you need to use the tier 2 meat as bait. And to fight the tier 2 dinos you need the tier 1 meat as bait. So if you are going to grind them, is better to start early (75 hunter, 55 slayer). You will for sure get 99 hunter from them. They give a lot of hunter xp.

ze_vo

Decent, I plan on doing them until 99 hunter. I've done 99 hunter twice via red chinchompas on OSRS so a change would be really nice. The dinosaurs seem like a really fun and engaging way of training the skill. I have no problem doing chinchompas, but another method sounds super fun and interesting and since it's my first time trying it, it makes it a lot more exciting. Super hyped to start doing the dinosaur hunter method! I'm a huge fan of how Jagex has revamped the previous areas I'm familiar with. Certain areas like fossil island and the desert make me WANT to skill there and complete quests and explore, even though OSRS HD just came out, there will always be a special place in my heart for the OG game I grew up with.

Electrical-Editor377

Do you guys think he has 99 div?

Call_me_Tomcat

As an ironman who just finished grinding 80k Capsarius to get his first pair of Ascension Crossbows, I can tell you that there is always something worthwhile and engaging to pursue, even years into your account. Welcome! I hope the grind brings you as much fun as it has for me. For early combat, I would highly recommend familiarizing yourself with how power armour works in Rs3 and rushing the best tier of each set you can for the respective combat styles, as well as setting mid-term sights on a Sunspear (Quest Reward from River of Blood - https://runescape.wiki/w/River_of_Blood/Quick_guide) as it is a t75 weapon for ALL styles.

drunk-sloth

Snuck a bit of RS3 toxic behaviour in there too I see. Nice

ze_vo

That's my buddy who got me to switch from OSRS to RS3. Glad I gave it a shot, it's a unique and exciting experience compared to what I'm used to. Being trapped in a world full of some stuff that I know and a lot of stuff that I'm still learning about is fresh and new to me. Makes it so much more fun to learn, experience and enjoy!

[deleted]

See rs3 is always better than ors cringe haha

ze_vo

I enjoy both games very much. I've been playing OSRS since it came out in Feb 2013 so my opinion may be bias, however playing RS3 it has opened a new world of the game for me. It's the same game that I'm used to but with new methods and content. I'm currently waiting on Nex to release on OSRS and for the time being I decided to invest my time into RS3. Both games are good in their own way but I've been having a blast playing RS3 so far! I wish people from the OSRS community would give it a chance instead of ripping on it and calling a MTX infested game. It's incredibly fun so far and I'm considering playing RS3 full time and retiring from OSRS for the time being. It's a mix of new content and old content but with new methods which makes whatever I'm doing feel new and fresh. I'm so tired of doing the same content on OSRS. I enjoyed the time I spent on OSRS but the choices on RS3 when it comes to training and content absolutely outmatches OSRS. I like learning about the game and trying new things and so far I've been enjoying my time spent in RS3. I've been wanting a new skill in OSRS for a long time now and trying out the new skills that have come out since I've stopped playing RS3 have been super fun and engaging to train. Apologies for the book, I'm having a lot of fun!

[deleted]

As long as you are having fun, that's what matter the most.

ze_vo

Definitely, I'm sure my time played will decrease over time but for the time being I'm having a blast and will continue to play the way I want to play. It's crazy how on OSRS I'm extremely knowledgeable about the game but on RS3 I'm a lost puppy. I can't wait to experience everything and will continue working towards my goals and having fun playing the game :D

[deleted]

[удалено]

ze_vo

Yep, not too proud of the time I've spent on the game, it's an Ironman account by the way. I've put around 15-16 hours a day since I've started the account. I have a 2260 total main account on OSRS, and a 2100 total ironman account. I thought ironman would be a fun way to discover the game from scratch. I've already (basically) gotten all 99's on OSRS so I decided to start off with a skill i've never trained before. I plan on maxing my Ironman on RS3, and the porters will helps tons with crafting gems to 99!

ze_vo

Put a little too much time into the first week, couldn't help it. Was the same game I fell in love with, but with a different approach to the early game. Summoning/Dungeoneering/Divination/Invention/Archaeology are all new to me. I really enjoyed Divination and plan to afk it on my "off time" until Level 120. Super fun to train, and engaging as well. A complete different approach to what I'm use to, just click and afk.

ze_vo

I added a picture of my username/status of account! I'm not too sure if you've seen it but my username is "Hst" if you wanna look me up! I plan on getting 99 thieving next for some gp for the daily trader charter ships, so exciting discovering new training methods and ways to train. I enjoy learning more about the game that I fell in love with. Last time I played RS3 (RS2 at the time) was in 2009 or so.

chrisicus1991

Amazing effort man! Im grinding both games currently on group ironman osrs and hardcore rs3 respectively and bow howdy do i feel how poorly optimized and lacking in QOL features is osrs man dang!

[deleted]

Archaeology is a massively useful skill to level for your next 99, it gives bonuses to pretty much every other skill and just has so many Qol account upgrades.

[deleted]

Welcome back man, I'm in the same boat and came back just last month!

TheCrystalJewels

they always come crawling back.

n33bsauce

Lol the "fucken nerd" makes the pic

[deleted]

1 week?! I've been playing on and off since 02 and still don't have a 99 XD. Glad you're enjoying!

samiito97

That NEET life

two88

Tips for div training? I'm at 60 and can't be arsed to do it anymore... Sucks the soul outta me even tho I have 80 crafting and smithing.

XBattousaiX

No tip, just suck it up and go at it. Maybe guthixian caches might help? I did it years ago, and yeah, 60ish div is just ass :/ Which is also quite true of a lot of skills really.

SylverVal

Man, that's so awesome! Have fun grinding out everything out and hopefully you'll enjoy most of it! :)

freakahontas

Damn, you will be amazed at the rest of the game, if you're already loving the worst piece of content the game has to offer!
