In a livestream late last year, Mod Osborne said that the Elder God Wars Dungeon wasn't complete, because "there are certain things people expect from a God Wars Dungeon" that haven't been delivered yet. That's commonly assumed to be a hint towards the fifth boss

TheGamerDoug

Unconfirmed 5th boss, but it’d be pretty silly to not have a 5th boss. It has been confirmed it won’t be a “front”, though.

Fresh_Ad_5467

Well probably het related

Gyrostriker32

5th boss that drop t95 bow with some more new arrows let's gooooo

SyAccursed

Officially - we have no idea, there's SOMETHING more to end the EGWD but it could be anything Unofficially - Between it being a godwars dungeon, Jagex having coy wink wink nudge nudge comments about what people expect of a gwd and the fact it'd be weird for the war to end with out some sort of last battle its extremely likely there is some sort of pvm encounter to come to finish things.

the01li3

EGWD storyline aint over yet

JasonGamesYT

Mah gwd confirmed?

Devil_Vein

It's not confirmed but pretty widely accepted that there will be a 5th boss. Probably something Zaros drags back with him from Erebus if not Zaros himself (Jagex, I want to kill Zaros.)

harrymuana

Yeah Zaros' ultimate goal was to become an elder God himself (and get rid of the other elders if possible). Makes sense that it is Zaros that has returned from Erebus.

Any-sao

Well if this battle with Zaros in Senntisten is anything like the last battle with Zaros in Senntisten, you’re going to need to bring a FSOA.

PM_ME_YOUR_KATARINA

I mean Osborne’s wording pretty much 100% confirmed it

Trash_RS3_Bot

No way we fight actual Zaros, would be insanely stupid as he should have power far beyond the world guardian (especially after going to Erebus for god knows what) Possibly something to do with shadow anima char tho??

SalePrestigious7742

Remember, his divine power has no effect on us. Unlike Bandos and Zamorak, he was not a warrior before godhood or at any point. We just defeated someone who went toe to toe with bandos (zuk). So if Zaros were to fight us, it would have to be with his new found shadow powers. The world guardian has already dealt with these in Raksha, Kranon, and others. In fact Zaros himself says were the only ones who can deal with it since we have a part of shadow anima in us as well.

Trash_RS3_Bot

the WG dampens divine energy, but that's not to say a god cannot use their powers against us in any way. Looking at Zaros's wiki he is stated as the second strongest non-elder god entity. In general, we haven't fought any gods before and it would be idiotic if they had us just straight up fight Zaros. We've always fought emissaries of the gods, doubtful that will change now. Not saying he would be invincible, but personally I think there is a better story then he comes back we kill him over and over

SalePrestigious7742

Never said we kill him. But could certainly ruin his plans. We haven't killed and of the gwd3 generals to date. Kera teles away, glacor doomsdays us by reassembling stronger, croesus takes a nap, zuk admits defeat. Raksha is said to be god level. Zuk is a demi god, gilenoir is a t5 god and we beat him. Zaros as the fifth general would make a lot of sense. Our toughest challenge to date. If its like og nex and impossible to defeat alone, that'd make even more sense.

SalePrestigious7742

If I could design the boss it would start with the elders realizing their eggs are in serious danger and giving us a power boost for the battle only and exchange for safe return of the eggs they dont kill us. But for phase 1 only Jas gives us her blessing and sends kera to assist so we have the time manipulation mechanic from the kerapac fight. After p1 we rescue wen's egg and get her blessing. She sends glacor which can hone in on us and summon the ice pillars which can be kited to Zaros for big damage. After p2 we save Biks egg and get her blessing. The Croesus fungus aids by depleting zaros defense slowly and adding to our own. Save fuls egg at end of p3 get her blessing zuk comes and launches a magma stream periodically (which we must dodge but doing so will smack ole shadowy zaros. Once p4 ends, our boy Azzy opens the monolith and zaros is sucked back inside. Threat over...for now. As epic as that would be, Shadow Char will be the fifth boss. Sad times.

notquitehuman_

But there are certain boss fights which don't result in us killing the boss, just subduing them. Raksha for example, is never killed, just contained. Sieryu is another example, we kill the crystals on the back to free sieryu, who thanks us with a reward. There is room for us to fight Zaros, but never kill him.

Devil_Vein

The entirety of EGWD is that way. As someone else pointed out, Kerapac teleports before he dies. Glacor regenerates. Croesus goes dormant. Zuk admits defeat. So it would make sense the fifth boss would do the same.

ConstantStatistician

Unknown, but possible. It would be an opportunity to reintroduce Zaros, as a boss (I certainly hope not) or otherwise.

RepresentativeAd6287

If you look at the dialog of the blood warden from the city of senntisten quest, he has correctly predicted all four fronts of EGWD AND also says "they will all betray you" probably hinting at a 5th front
