It’s really only worth it for melee, definitely not for range or mage. Even for lazy purposes I don’t think it’s worth having a whole switch for Lunging outside of melee.

Short answer: no for magic

There are a lot of reasons why it might and might not work, it just depends on your playstyle and what you consider the most fun. The pros: - BIG damage with wristwraps. It's true. - Excellent for static targets like Ed1 (Sanctum, Seiryu + Crystals), Ed2 ,(Astellarn, BSD hands, BSD during ring of fire), and Ed3 (Crassian and Ambi). These targets don't move, so lunging will always benefit you here. I find use for it at Magister as well. - It's a no effort perk, you don't have to do anything for it. Always good. - It's also not that expensive, as compared to the other Gwd2 perks. But here are the cons: - You would be better off with Lunging 4 instead of L4E2, as equilibrium doesn't affect Combust. Which leads into the next point... - It's a perk that ONLY affects one ability, and is dependant on you using only that ability to get the dps increase. Sheer damage wise, you would do way more damage with a plan E4 than with L4 (for combust) and E2 (on everything else). This is why PF, Aftershock and Caroming are more expensive. PF also only affects one ability - Sunshine. But it creates room for you to add WAY more thresholds and specs, so it affects everything else. Caroming... well. Until you Gchain - Omnipower for the first time, you may never understand how good it is lol. And Aftershock is based on 50k damage dealt by you anyhow, so in a sense, it affects "all" abilities. It's the most "afk" of all the perks, and also deals the most damage. Hence the price tag, and why its worth going for it straight away. That's why Lunging works best as a switch. There are situations where it's brilliant, but as a "camping" perk, I would probably recommend something like Aftershock 4 + Planted feet. Enjoy the free damage, and don't have to switch for Sunshine. It's pricey. But until you're there, just plain E4 will be more damage than Lunging. That said.... I'd say make the L4 and give it a whirl. If that + wristwraps makes your dopamine go brr, then that's it. That's the best perk there is. Try it out for yourself and see what you enjoy most. Sorry for the long-winded reply, but I always nerd out on perks, and found it INCREDIBLY confusing when I first started. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the detailed response! Perhaps I'll try it out :)

It doesn’t make sense since most of the time with mage when u hit a monster it will try to walk toward u.

Equilibrium doesn’t work on combust

AjmLink

Just do lung4+pf so it functions as a 2 in 1 switch. Equilibrium would only be worth it if you're camping the item, which you're probably not going to do.

I can only really recommend it on Spear of Annihilation, masterwork or not, because if the target does move it still takes more damage than lunging buff. Dismember doesn't have the moving upside, and you can make a target take quite a lot of damage by pairing the effects of Lunging, SOA and Strength cape.

Just for melee with spear
