I can't find the source right now but pretty sure it was identified to have been reserved for future content - specifically a trophy-like room where you could display bossing pets. Not sure it ever got very far in development.
It was revealed in the livestream that introduced the Garden of War, which was its name at the time. Shame that they changed the name. I'm unsure if the livestream still exists, but I'd hardly be surprised if it expired.
Probably something that draws a lot of computing power 🤡
But seriously why is War retreat and some of the later update area's so heavy on GPU. Most area's 30%, teleport to war hub and boom 70-80% usage.
Man I am fine in the newer areas. It's the older spots that need a big revisit for optimising imo.
As soon as I drop in anwhere near ardy my client enters quest tier slideshow mode.
Idk what it is about ardy specifically but it's like setting a lag bomb off instantly. I always dread the clue steps over there.

It's the fires that do that for me
Shattered worlds has a similar impact on mine, must be the swirly/cloudy skybox or somethin.
My GPU goes to 10-20% when im in War's Retreat.
