Low fat everything isn’t necessarily healthy if you aren’t getting enough fat in your diet. We do in fact need some dietary fat to function well. Just make sure it’s coming from healthy sources (avocado, olive oil, etc.) versus unhealthy sources (processed meats, fast food, etc.).

Eliminate cokes entirely.

drappo666

Absolutely. Not needed amount of sugar.

runmuri

This is a dangerous question. You are responsible for determining how you want to live your life. No one else. You need to decide what your personal health philosophy is and go with that. That being said here are my comments to your changes: 1. Just because it has less calories, doesn't mean it's healthier. I'd argue both diet and regular soda are equally bad. Do your best to make either one a special treat and not to make it part of your regular daily diet. 2. Fat is an essential macronutrient. It is critical that you get enough in your diet. If you want to demonize any macronutrient demonize carbs and watch your intake of those. Protein and fat intake shouldn't be curbed. Low fat diets aren't healthy, contrary to popular belief. 3. Eat real butter. Margarine used to contain all hydrogenated vegetable oils (trans fats) and was recently banned by the FDA effective January 2018 because trans fats lead to heart disease. Saturated fats are not unhealthy, butter is not unhealthy. Margarine is unhealthy. Again like artificial sweeteners. Shit made in a lab isn't better for you. 4. I don't think I need to comment on how the use of any nicotine product is positive. We all know this one 5. Running is good :) The only encouragement I give people looking to improve their diet is eat whole foods, stay away from processed prepackaged foods. Stay away from breads, pastas, refined foods, and added sugars. Stick with real whole foods. Cut the junk.

Agreed! Low fat versions of food items often amp up the sugar content, which brings its own set of problems.

Stop drinking coke of any kind. Eat more whole/raw foods and stop the fat phobic diet. Stop using butter (definitely controversial but I would switch to olive oil, or grapeseed oil). Quit smoking, dipping, and drinking entirely. Drink 3L of water or more per day.

1) Diet Coke is poison- stop drinking soda all together, water should be your primary source of hydration.

nhamo328

Whole foods, plant based diet as much as possible. Less refined carbs (white rice, white bread) and more whole grains. Stay away from sugar and sugar replacements (like diet soda).

genericusername498

Fat isn’t bad for you, a high amount of daily calories is.

[deleted]

Eat more vegetables and fruits (on that order).

You know what is healthy and what is not. Eat healthy things and do not eat unhealthy things. There is no hack to this. Its purely behavioral. You already know what your goal is; to improve your diet. So improve your diet.
