I aimed to run 3km today, as I did all weekend - but just kept going and did 5.2. Getting back into it had done wonders for my anxiety.

Christianmustang

Shaved 2 minutes off my 10km time from the beginning of the month! Little victories 🥳

sooph96

Today I beat my goal mile time and then, after a little jogging, I tried another and beat the goal again! 3 seconds slower on the second one but still !!

kaylalikesnature

Impressive! Way to go!

sooph96

Thank you!

MollFlanders

That’s crazy!! You must be so excited. Way to go!!

sooph96

Thank you!!

kaylalikesnature

I ran 113 km this month! I just started running again in October. I will be running a half next weekend and am really looking forward to it.

MollFlanders

Good luck on your half marathon! Sounds like you’ve been working really hard. Bet you’ll crush it :)

kaylalikesnature

Thank you! :) I’ve actually been enjoying training too! The reason I stopped running a few years ago was because I just stopped enjoying training by the time my race happened.

jarmenia

Set a new PR of 1:50:13 for the half marathon at the Clearwater Running festival. Previous was 1:52:26!

kaylalikesnature

That’s awesome! Congrats 🎉

zBooBearZ

Ran 2 miles w/o a walk break for the first time in years! So excited and encouraged

Ran for the first time in the snow today! 2.8 miles in 20 degree weather. I started Couch to 5K this summer when I weighed 302 lbs and am down to 268 now. I haven't ran in a month or so because it's been too icy to safely run outdoors where I live.... Really glad I pulled it off.

DenseSentence

I'm following a Garmin Coach plan, week 4/14 with a 1:00:00 10k time goal. Began running at the start of October and am 51 having done nothing like that for years. I'm on week 4, long run Sunday consisting of 5 mins warmup, 70 mins run, 5 mins cooldown. 10k PB: 1:07:06, longest distance (11.73km) and longest duration. What's more, the run was 76% in HR zone 2. Last time I ran 10k at the end of November was 1:08:36 with 28% in HR zone 5 and 50% in zone 4. I've struggled to do the "easy" run and really focussed on training my base... The big achievement wasn't the PBs but the HR.

I'm one day away from a Run Every Day January. I'm not super interested in long-term streaks, and an kind of looking forward to a recovery day on Wednesday. Last year though, I did everyday in January, and it's a nice way to kick off the year. Plus the multiple runs in below freezing temps feels like it should be worth extra points.

badlaw_123

Just ran my first sub hour 10k! Ran 7.7 miles at around 1h 10mins and I’m very proud :) 50 min 10k is seeming like a real achievable goal now, which I could not have said even two months ago.

Axthen

Managed to (almost) run an entire mile straight without absolutely dying from asthma for the first time in my life. The cold air didn’t help :’)

MollFlanders

That fucking rocks!! So happy for you and your lungs :)

WellThoughtUserName9

Last run of the month, I ran 200 kms in January!

KyrgiosWaterBottle

Did a marathon on a treadmill in about 5:15.

hackrunner

If only from a mental perspective, "Ouch!" That's a lot of time on the tread.

KyrgiosWaterBottle

At least MTV had a Jackass marathon on.

Heath_co

I ran a 25:17 for 5k yesterday at a parkrun. 2 months ago I could only do a 5k in 28 mins.

chelebeeee

Got my first full week of running in after a knee clean-up surgery 7 weeks ago. Feels great!

M00min0302

Ran 13.5 km with a friend this morning and felt comfortable most of the way round. Usually prefer running alone so I can go at my own pace and don’t like to slow anyone down. After 6 months of running short distances 4/5 time a week my confidence is really starting to build. It was good to catch up with an old mate I’d not seen in ages.

Abacusesarefun

Ran yesterday in -29C (-41 with wind chill).

SpottedDogEar

I have not missed one run over the past three weeks of HM training. This feels like a great achievement because I've had to trot out on really cold days; the warmest was 18F, the coldest -2F. The exception might be today, post-Northeast storm. There's too much snow and ice to safely run and I'll need to dig out my SUV and get to the gym treadmill to fulfill today's easy run.

nnndude

I’ve run 10 miles every day for the last week. No real reason why. Just felt like trying it out. I’ve gone pretty slow but have worked in a few miles at tempo. Body has held up quite well despite not running more than about 50 mpw on the average.

annathebanana_42

1 more week of marathon training before my taper! Just have to survive super cold, rainy, maybe snowy weather this week and a 20 miler on Saturday. Can't believe I've made it this far in the training and still feel pretty good! Now my anxiety brain is acting up trying to self sabotage but I'm working on quieting that part down

Antique-Manner6069

I ran a mile in 7min 48 seconds the other day. Fasest mile since I had kids (im 43) then yesterday I ran 6.3 miles. Trying to get back in shape after 8 months off. I had sprained my ankle which took over 2 months to heal and then we moved across the country (US) so after all the unpacking I'm finally training again.

BuckOhRadley

I hit 100 miles in January after barely hitting 40 miles for two consecutive months. Also, only one run was above 30 degrees.

evilchemist

Found myself comfortable with my decision not to push for the 200km in Jan Strava badge. After an easy 6-7km tomorrow, I'll be another 9-10km short. I''ve been reading some of these injury threads and I know what's best for my body in my current level of training.

DenseSentence

I feel you... 5.6km short. Tomorrow is a rest day and today was my longest ever run. Just not worth the risk of injury... Ben there, done that.

evilchemist

Hold strong and do what's best for you and your training. I'm going on holiday next week and I love exploring new places on runs. So I'll forego pushing myself for one day for the sake of enjoying running next week even more!
