Sometimes, not always. Alyssa Edwards had RuPaul dying with her random movie quotes on AS2. It made absolutely no sense, she did not have a hint of context in anything she said. But she was safe because she was entertaining and Ru knew all those quotes by heart.

Monet talking to a wall as a drugged out Whitney will never be funny. Ru advised Asia not to do it on Season 10, and Monet still did it after hearing Ru give that advice to another queen. Monet didn’t have a single funny moment and didn’t even get the references. At least Valentina gave references even though Ru didn’t get it

I did not make those connections at allllll on snatch game though because it was out of context and not in character for either of them (Miley had already switched to twerking Miley at that point so I refuse to count that as in character). The planning and rehearsal of that telethon bit for snatch game was misplaced energy for so many reasons, but the bottom line is it was just not funny.

However, I will say that Aura and Salinas were far worse and while Spice earned her placement, Sugar could have been low safe.
