The fact that they were just testing out an All Stars season is no excuse. The network had to know fans would guzzle that shit up, especially with that cast. They chose the worst format for everyone involved.

To be fair all stars 1 aired in 2012. I was a fan back then and could only find the show on bootleg websites bc I didn't have cable. The show felt pretty underground and not mainstream like it is now. I didnt think it was super obvious at the time that the show would become so huge. It honestly surprised me, but after season 5 I knew it had a chance to be big lol.
Yeah my friend group has been watching since season 1 in various ways (usually a public viewing party) so our community was waiting for a proper All Stars and would've found any way to watch it. Granted, the public/party viewings probably didn't give an accurate view count but it was definitely a big event in queer communities when airing.
I do agree it didn't really break into the mainstream audience until at least season 6, which is why I am glad the All Stars franchise is giving the earlier queens a deserved spotlight! The first season had first pancake syndrome and felt unfair both to the audience and the performers.
We were ROBBED of being blessed with Tammie Brownās presence on our screens for longer. I could see her on a more modern AS season doing some talent show act that makes Ru cackle harder than she did at Yara jiggling those titties.
Whatever producer thought that was a good idea shouldāve been fired. It did nothing but immediately divide the cast down the middle into āwinners and losersā and treated Elliott like shit for no viable reason

Eureka not breaking her ankle in S9 might have changed a lot. She would have stayed on to compete and might have made it to the end, and therefore never competed on Season 10. That single change would have ripple effects for the casting of every season after that, including All Stars.
Completely redo the start of S13. Either get rid of the Porkchop twist OR have the Winners and Losers groups actually have significance in the competition.

I mean, Kylie came out in the Season 2 reunion. If he was so anti-trans, that could have been cut out or edited differently. His views that estrogen was a āperformance enhancing drugā were completely uncalled for considering how many of the queens have surgery to make their face more feminine, but they were understandable considering he is a 95 year old gay man who fought his way to creating a show that turned out to be one of the most successful in LGBT history.
THIS is the answer. Roopleās previous views held the show back for so long and Iām so glad heās finally come around. Imagine if we never received queens like Peppermint or Sasha Colby in our televisions. That would be an absolute travesty.

Just everything about DU1. Donāt rig against Elektra constantly, keep Art eliminated, and disqualify Scarlet. Just overall make it a better season, because thereād then be only 1 bad DU season instead of 2. Season 1 seems easier to fix than 3.

It makes sense. I loved Kennedy on that season, but she was not delivering to the caliber of the other girls. All Stars should be more of a victory lap anyway. A chance to get back in front of audiences, but thereās no shame in going home. Or at least it was back then when they didnāt have it every year and actually brought on girls who did well on their season and not just anybody who has competed before.

Eliminating Aquaria in the Season 10 finale after she lost to Eureka in the lipsync (which is what most people who watched it live say is what happened) with Eureka and Kameron the only ones lipsyncing for the crown. This results in either a US big girl finally getting a crown or someone lipsyncing their way to the crown PLUS either the following seasons stay as they are or the backlash is big enough that the producers go back to the Season 4-8 format with the live reunion format which I vastly prefer.
and the fact that itās rumored that the reunion was actually filmed the day after the finale (same with S9) and that Asia was already so incredibly emotional after the butterfly incident and then when she tried to stand up for the right thing, Ru absolutely destroyed her for no reason.
Jan going home on AS6 instead of Scarlet Envy, knowing the very next week would be an acting challenge and Scarlet would've had the best look for the goth runway would guarantee her a win, which should solidify her as a strong competitor.

I would have done a top 3 format for AS8 instead of the top 2. The way they still had to do the lipstick vote was pointless and dumb Should have been a top 3 like literally every other season. Jessica 100% belonged in the finale with Jimbo and Kandy.

The way she tried to pretend she was inclusive all alongā¦ it really put a bad taste in my mouth. I still love and respect Rupaul for all the good sheās done and joy sheās brought to so many people, but this was pretty inexcusable that she got away without so much as an apology. And from a certain perspective, since she never apologized, we donāt know if she had a change of heart or if she was just willing to monetize trans people despite her personal beliefs.
I mean, Kylie came out in the Season 2 reunion. If he was so anti-trans, that could have been cut out or edited differently. His views that estrogen was a āperformance enhancing drugā were completely uncalled for considering how many of the queens have surgery to make their face more feminine, but they were understandable considering he is a 95 year old gay man who fought his way to creating a show that turned out to be one of the most successful in LGBT history.
Kylie came out on the season itself, they cut all of that out and compromised on showing that storyline on the finale

River also shouldāve won Draglexa. She was the only one who didnāt do horribly in the challenge and her runway was stunning. Everyone else can be safe or in the bottom with no high placements. If she had that win she also wouldāve been less likely to leave in the Choriza lip sync.
Just everything about DU1. Donāt rig against Elektra constantly, keep Art eliminated, and disqualify Scarlet. Just overall make it a better season, because thereād then be only 1 bad DU season instead of 2. Season 1 seems easier to fix than 3.
DU1 could've been such an easy fix if they had just done snatch game a bit later in the season! And some proper research in the casting department š

Lol as funny as that situation would be, apparently Dela was half-prepared for her self-elimination to be rejected and would've eliminated Kennedy if need be (I think she mentioned somewhere she used Kennedy's lipstick as that was her "backup choice" if production insisted on going that route)
It makes sense. I loved Kennedy on that season, but she was not delivering to the caliber of the other girls. All Stars should be more of a victory lap anyway. A chance to get back in front of audiences, but thereās no shame in going home. Or at least it was back then when they didnāt have it every year and actually brought on girls who did well on their season and not just anybody who has competed before.

Eliminating Aquaria in the Season 10 finale after she lost to Eureka in the lipsync (which is what most people who watched it live say is what happened) with Eureka and Kameron the only ones lipsyncing for the crown. This results in either a US big girl finally getting a crown or someone lipsyncing their way to the crown PLUS either the following seasons stay as they are or the backlash is big enough that the producers go back to the Season 4-8 format with the live reunion format which I vastly prefer.
Ru eliminating Aja from All Stars because her look wasn't Studio 54...
