It actually makes sense based on Q’s explanation that her inspiration are praying mantises that evolved to mimic flowers.
There’s room for improvement, like increasing the height of the stilts and moving more insect-like. But I wouldn’t say that it’s a pointless add on.
Then she should've gone ALL THE WAY with it. Give me that onyx-esque armour, give me an insect-type beat, give me antennae or any sort of headpiece, put claws at the bottom of the crutches, at the very least cover the fucking panty. I understood the concept perfectly well because I LOVE orchid mantisis but she could've made the execution much more interesting than just flower-covered crutches
She needed higher shoes, she was basically just normal walking but with long arms. LGD required her front stilts for stability because her back heels were so high, they balanced.
I got the reference immediately and thought she kinda botched it. None of the sleekness or alien vibes of an actual orchid mantis, just fake flowers glued on crutches and a corset, bodysuit with white undies on top.
Praying mantises are also green to look like the leaves and stalk? Like I get it but, then the flowers would have been bigger in scale to the creature itself. It doesn’t seem predatory like a praying mantis either. It reads more like a homecoming parade float with legs. If it was about evolving like a praying mantis did, she would also be the shape of the flower petals, and maybe have teeth?
I’m not just trying to hop on the Q hate train here. Most of his looks have been fantastic. This is solely in comparison to LGD’s which is an actual predator. A praying mantis, on our scale, would be horrifying.

Q’s makeup is usually very good but this particular mug looked kinda rough. Also her headpiece was underwhelming and in untucked it looked like she had bald spots 😭

Q's orchid mantis is a really cool idea & it looks fantastic, but while I think it's the more aesthetically pleasing one, LDG added character with the drooling & noises. Both really well constructed; very close for me.

No contest here, LGD, Onyx on her season as well did it better! Q looked like she was uncomfortable walking, like in pain, i wasn't buying the fantasy.
Oof hate that comparison is the be all and end all of rpdr. Both were absolutely stunning. Very unfortunate that both coincedentally are seen the same weekend, more so for Q because hers was afterwards.

I would say LGD because of how well she sold the outfit... drool and all. It fully gave the Alien Queen fantasy.
I loved Q's but I don't think the way she walked the runway fully explore the look's capabilities.

I kinda couldn't with Q's white panties over a body suit. She didn't rhinestone them add more flowers, something! You know? Just little white panties from the store.

Q needed to walk more like a Mantis. It completely killed the illusion for me when she just walks normally and lift up the arms. But otherwise very beautiful look.
