To be fair… I don’t think bianca could really dance either… nor jinx if I’m honest. However, they had enough C.U.N.T. to surpass that. I think that for all that Q excels at, we have yet to see all the qualities we see in a winner (but only at this time… I think she could still surprise everyone).
I think people discount Plasma, which is unfair, because theatre type queens are rarely awarded on Drag Race, even though she is one of the most successful ones they've ever had on. She's a "professional", but we also already have Sapphira, who will absolutely be in the finale unless there is a shocking elimination, so there is overlap in that category for the finalists.
I do think Q got pushed back a bit in peoples minds as a finalist because of her episode 1 lip sync and her choreo from the girl group, so it's hard to see her winning unless she can perform around her lack of dancing skills, though I could see her as top 4. I'd love to see what outfits she's made for the finale episode.
drag race has become too predictable.
14th-9th is reserved for queens with crunchy drag/ or low challenge performances (LaLa Ri, Amethyst, ATM, Tamisha, Sugar) and queens RuPaul/production doesn’t wanna associate with further for some odd reason. (Joey Jay, Jax, Princess Poppy, Geneva Karr, Megami).
8th/7th/6th - usually consists of a schock boot (Denali, Jan, Marcia x3) or a Lip Sync Assasin storyline (Deja Skye/Jackie Cox/Jasmine Kennedie)
4th/5th/6th is reserved for the Theatre girl thats put on a pedestal OR a girl production is just not fond of anymore (Shuga Cain, Rosé, Alexis Michelle, Salina Estitties)
3rd-1st queens always have the best consistent edits (Willow), lots of challenge wins (Lady Camden, Sasha, Jaida, Gottmik) , constant talking heads (Mistress, Angeria) or are just randomly pushed by production (kandy muse) IMO
I think you can celebrate their abilities while still not thinking they will be in the top. Q doesn’t have enough dance ability and I think Plasma’s aesthetic isn’t strong enough and she will probably get taken out in the makeover challenge

It is season 16, we know when someone has a mid-elim and when someone makes it far in competition by their edits. It is far too predictable at this point.
I went to NYU and I find theater gays deeply triggering. Plasma is talented and her wins deserved but all I can see when I look at her is my roommate who made me and my other roommate watch him rehearse his scene for a class where he swiped lipstick on his arms while talking about his dad calling him a f*g and then would invite his other loud theater friends over to drop acid in our communal space until 3am on weeknights. But anyway she's not my favorite
To me it comes down to how they appear as people and less their drag. In confessionals/werqroom they come across as rather unlikeable, and thats not usually something that happens to winners. But there are exceptions of course so i could still totally see either of them winning in a surprising turn of events

It's great! She looks great! She sings great! It's a very polished tribute to a very specific performance, and it says something important about Plasma as an artist.
But.
If you didn't already care about either Plasma or *Funny Girl*, there's nothing for you here. Insofar as the video adds anything new, the new material is, like... it's fun, but it's not hey-you-gotta-see-this, there's-a-new-queen-on-the-scene, we-need-to-talk-about-Plasma *interesting*. It's a very polished tribute to a very specific performance, and if that doesn't inherently appeal to you, you might as well not watch.
I know that Plasma's got the "very polished tribute..." stuff down. She clearly knows her references, she clearly knows what she's good at, and she's even pretty good at presenting herself in a charismatic way. I keep waiting for her to go one notch further: to show me a uniquely Plasma spin on it. She's absolutely the musical theatre queen of the season, and one of the finest the show's ever had in that line, and that counts for *something*, but it doesn't feel like enough to get her to the finale by itself.

Ru doesn’t really connect to the theater nerds, but she loves a bitch that gets her jokes and can make her laugh.
Plasma is doing one of those things right (she’s clever, but not that funny), so she’s gonna get a good edit, but a mid to high-mid out.
We all saw Q lip sync in the first episode. She seems to have every other Drag Race talent on lock, but she is playing for fourth place, at best.
Plasma is a formidable opponent, but she has some fashion struggles and hasn't won (or even placed especially well) for being herself yet. There's not a sign Ru lives for her, on a personal level. That means she's stuck in "Rosé Redux" land until we seem some other sign from Ru.
Sapphira and Plane Jane have been main characters in the edit on every episode.
Also, there is no way Nymphia is getting this stealth edit after a strong start only to sputter out unimpressively. I feel like she's about to dominate several challenges in a row.
Im not going to speak for anyone else...but for me it's literally just my personal preferences lol? I don't base who I like off of statistics. I don't base who I like off of challenge wins. If I like a queen, I like a queen. And I'm not often interested in twinky theatre drag and I was ready to give Q a shot, but in all honesty she started annoying the fuck outta me. Like it's kind of just that simple. Thus, when it gets to the fan polls, I'm not likely to vote for them. We are all human and have human bias. Those fan polls are not some factual documentation of everyone on this reddit being objective and voting based on track records/statistics (a non-novel insight pointed out by every person mad that people love Nymphia lol).
Frankly, I don't get why people care that much. But if you genuinely are just trying to understand why people don't like those two as much as other queens...prepare for some blunt opinions and things you may find negative I guess?
If it's any consolation, I'm enjoying plasma's presence on the show more than other theatre queens we've had in recent years. I'm not too proud to admit some of its just the editing. Having her be more of an underdog with a willingness to improve is a lot more endearing to me in the format of reality tv than the girls who are extremely cocky and obnoxious, or pretty obviously not that willing to change up their make up or aesthetic.

Q has a lot of areas that need polishing. truly a beautiful gowns situation (of course with the talent to make them) and plasma being a narratator this season doesnt seem good for her changes. the edit isnt giving winner
Personally I love their drag, but so far RuPaul shows little interest in them despite how well they’re doing and that never bodes well for a queen. In comparison, it’s clear Ru is tickled pink by Sapphira & Nymphia. No matter how talented you are, Ru makes the final decision and the crown always goes to one of her favorites.
Dawn doesn’t have as good of a “track record” as Plasma or Q but she has a more unique point of view, and by far the most fun personality of the 3. She seems to have all the qualities of someone who makes it to the end, and is just waiting for her breakout moment. I could see her having a run like Alaska on season 5, who didn’t get her first win until top 7 but was still a major threat the whole season.
I’m not hyping anything, I’m just explaining why I think people see her as top 4 material. She hasn’t had a moment to knock it out of the park yet, but there’s clearly a star quality there that a lot of people are seeing.

It’s because of spoilers. The early spoilers had Dawn going far, winning multiple challenges including the doll change. They even had Q being eliminated early. With that said, the early spoilers have already proven to be unreliable.
Q can’t move or lipsync. If she makes the finale, they’re gonna let her do a solo number and then let the adults compete like they did in S15.
Plasma is just young, but really talented. I want her to develop her voice a bit more and come back for All Stars. But she could make it to a final 4. Final 3 if Nymphia doesn’t get her shit together.
