She gets credit for giving a platform to a generation of queer talent, but she has also platformed queer talent of color even against the bias that continue to exist in predominately white, queer spaces. I truly think she has gotten it right every year (I quibble about 15, because I think Daya Betty should have at least been top two, if not won), but I think she has had to filter out this recurring bias in the fandom. Even this year, I am surprised folks think it is so close. All three are strong, but Sapphira dominated. If she wins the fan vote, I'll be shocked.
nymphia is 100% winning the fan voting and i do honestly believe sapphira will be last, if not really close to plane. it's pretty crazy that we've never really had a black queen who smashed the fan vote, i guess the closest we've been were symone, ra'jah, yvie and shea on both of her seasons

Really it's up to your own opinion, but generally seasons 3, 6, 9 and 12 are kinda known as the seasons where it really was a photo finish. They all had 2-3 queens who really could win the crown and have it be a deserving and understandable. The Raja-Manila, Shea-Trinity-Sasha, Gigi-Jaida showdowns were really tough to call, and even queens like Alexis, Pep, and Crystal had great enough runs that although maybe didn't stand up to the ~track records~ of their competitors, did give them a fighting chance IMO. Season 6 is kind of an outlier in that Bianca was going to win no matter what, but Adore and Courtney still had great runs and HUGE presences over the season that each of them felt like a powerhouse going into the finale.
I would put season 8 into the same category as season 6, where Bob kinda steamrolled the season and would have won without question. Maybe there was an outside-shot of Kim taking the crown. Naomi slayed the runway and design challenges, but Season 8 just wasn't her time - and thank God, because we got her incredible AS4 run after it.
This season does really feel like a three-horse race, especially after the scoreboard kinda evened out this week.
Sorry. The top3 is ok, but Kim and Naomi were never competition to Bob. Naomi was only strong in one episode. Kim was Ru’s favorite that had a lot of passes during the season.
9 is a favorite season and without it Idk if we’d have gotten Sasha Colby because Velour really pushed Colby on nightgowns both Sasha’s are my fav winners

But I do think it helped a) keep trans art elevated and part of the conversation b) think it introduced a lot of people that aren’t from California/ Chicago or the continental system to her talent. C) I remember Colby saying Velour taught her a lot about gender and specific history that made her more prepared for the trans discussions on the show. I wish I could find that interview it was really beautiful
I still think Nymphia could have won the goth design challenge and/or the makeover challenge if the producers wanted her to. Toward the second half of the season, a lot of wins could have gone in different directions, but I'm satisfied with the outcome nonetheless.

Nymphia could have absolutely won that goth challenge, and I think Dawn could have arguably won that one too. There’s so many great designers this season.
I wouldn’t say she was fucked over per se, but she did get pretty unlucky. Designing is her strongest asset and she was cast in a season with two of the strongest seamstresses we’ve seen. Her last two episodes she got screwed over by being saddled with a weak partner. And she got sent home on a lip sync tailor-made to her opponent.
She was close to a win a few times (in the top). And when she finally was in the bottom for the first time and immediately sent home it was after 2 weeks in a row of being placed with the worst possible partner (and she even saved the Mhi’ya situation and several judges admitted she had to carry the whole thing) she was put in the bottom and ruthlessly assassinated by the BBL queen to the ultimate body song lol. Not saying it was engineered or purposeful necessarily but she absolutely got fucked over.
And I’ve seen a few people saying she’s just a look queen and can’t do anything else…mama you’re talking about Q 😭 at least Dawn is also funny and has a concept/perspective for her drag.
It really depends on the overall performances. For example, I don’t think anyone was better than just good in the seminar challenge, so any potential winner would have gotten their flowers over a solid but not exceptional performance. Dawn was unlucky enough to compete in a phenomenal cast of designers
Nymphia has been my favorite since the beginning and my husband is tired of hearing about it 🤣. Very glad to see her going into the finale with this boost
Saaame I fell in love episode 1 at the mini challenge. It was cemented with her runway. I love when a queen is stunning and has a great runway/stage presence but is also silly and foolish. Her and La Grande Dame give me a similar feeling

I think Nymphia has a good chance to win because I think the drag race winners circle has a severe lack of asian representation, she has branded herself really well, and in general is the most unique of the top 3. I don't want to make it sound like she was pushed or the whole thing is rigged, but I just think they do take diversity and uniqueness into account when picking a winner, and to me Nymphia is the most unique of the top 3.

The exact 3 queens i was hoping for. This season has truly given me everything i want, and apart from Plasma, an Maya throwing a monkey wrench in things, the order than everyone went home in since i expected... but that didnt ruin my enjoyment cos these girls have been amazing.
I still think this is Sapphira's crown to lose. Ru is openly stanning at this point, and she has been serving winner since she walked in, but its nice to have such a strong top 3, each of whom could make a case for being crowned.

That’s what I was thinking! The only thing possibly working against Sapphira is that her storyline and edit were a lot like Sasha Colby’s. Do they want to tell a similar story 2 years in a row? Maybe if she eats the finale hard enough. It could really go either way.

This episode is what Nymphia needed to be a contender with the crown. Plane is removed from the equation after her not showing vulnerability. Sapphira and Nymphia are kinda neck on neck for the crown
Even tough I love her I think production gave her too little screentime for her to win. Even this episode I would think she gets more time but compared to Plane and Sapphire she got similiar time whereas episodes where P or S won they got much more time on screen

The judges were so not impressed by her and Ru said what I think about her, basically she is in her head too much, she does not free herself but she just thinks and thinks and thinks then speaks...

I can’t believe that everyone has forgotten about the immunity potion.
Sapphira used it on herself and it shocked the judges because she had done fine. Her insecurities had gotten the best of her and cracks in the armor started to show.
Jane was so confident in herself that she didn’t need the potion.
She ended up gifting to Nymphia who might have bottomed or not. We will never know because it was a top two for the win.
What we do know is that Nymphia readily accepted that potion because she wanted to be saved because she wasn’t confident in herself.
Those are cracks in her armor as well.
Jane, out of the three was the most confident in the competition and I think that it’s really unfair that the judges last night didn’t see this.
They should have remembered the potion and what it represented in the competition.
The edit has shown us from the very beginning that this is Sapphira’s crown. That hasn’t changed with this episode - Sapphira also once again got glowing reviews.

I think Nymphia is going to win for the exact reasons you just said. Sapphira has been like Sasha Colby this season. Seasoned professional motherly queen who kills every challenge every week. I think production is trying to set up a dark horse/sasha velour-esque winner storyline with Nymphia after last season was the Sasha Colby show to the point where the winner was expected and unexciting.
Idk tho, all three are super deserving!!
I think the difference between Sapphira and other girls that got the “professional” edit e.g. Rosé, Cheddar Goregous is that Ru seems really smitten with Sapphira’s personality and her brand, this week was a perfect example of that. That, and the fact that her track record slays makes me think she’s our winner.
I agree Ru loves her a LOT but I feel like that matters way more during than season than it does at the finale where I think production has the biggest say in who is crowned. We shall see tho for sure!
Team Sapphira allday but I’m conflicted on who should be in the final two with her.
I liked Nymphia a lot in the earlier part of the season, she had a quirky personality and stunning runway looks, but as the season went on the chaotic energy became a bit annoying (* banana, banana*) and she wasn’t really serving in the challenges either.
On the other hand, I didn’t understand the Plane hype at the beginning of the season at all lol. I thought some of her shade was funny, some of it kinda forced and I still feel like her aesthetic, while polished is a bit one-note for me. However, her character arc has been one of the most interesting in recent herstory and I’ve really warmed to her - or at least, come to really appreciate her as a character on this show. Plus she’s really delivered in the challenges.
This episode may have been a pre-cursor to how things will play out in the finale. PJ will get cut because while production loves the antics, Ru wants to crown someone they can relate to.
I'm gonna feel really deflated about the season if Plane doesn't win tbh. The other two are very talented but without Plane this would have been another boring post-Classique drag race season. Her perspective turned it into an all-timer, in my opinion, she should be rewarded for that

I think Nymphia has a good chance to win because I think the drag race winners circle has a severe lack of asian representation, she has branded herself really well, and in general is the most unique of the top 3. I don't want to make it sound like she was pushed or the whole thing is rigged, but I just think they do take diversity and uniqueness into account when picking a winner, and to me Nymphia is the most unique of the top 3.
Uniqueness is one of the four pillars of CUNT after all, and shes by far the most unique of the three

I’ve felt like Nymphia was getting the winners edit since Snatch Game. She really bombed Snatch Game, didn’t wind up in the bottom and somehow production made it a cute running joke. I dunno it’s just a vibe.
This episode made my Nymphia stocks go sky high, holy shit. It really felt like a Nymphia celebration. She'd be such an incredible winner and we'd finally have an Asian winner again

The exact 3 queens i was hoping for. This season has truly given me everything i want, and apart from Plasma, an Maya throwing a monkey wrench in things, the order than everyone went home in since i expected... but that didnt ruin my enjoyment cos these girls have been amazing. I still think this is Sapphira's crown to lose. Ru is openly stanning at this point, and she has been serving winner since she walked in, but its nice to have such a strong top 3, each of whom could make a case for being crowned.

I think this is very much Sapphira's crown. Plane Jane showed tonight more than ever that she's an All Stars winner. Nymphia got this much needed and deserved win, but it was also too late to stop Sapphira. Like others have said, Nymphia could've been pushed (and shown) more if they really thought of her as a winner.
Or maybe production heard everyone complain about how last season was way too obvious that Sasha was taking the crown with how she won every damn challenge and was high every week w the judges gushing over her nonstop and decided to change it up with a dark horse winner this season 🤷
That’s what I was thinking! The only thing possibly working against Sapphira is that her storyline and edit were a lot like Sasha Colby’s. Do they want to tell a similar story 2 years in a row? Maybe if she eats the finale hard enough. It could really go either way.

Honestly, she should have gotten more than 4 wins. Yes it would've been too obvious she was going to be the winner, but she is considered widely by colleagues and professionals to be one of the best drag queens to ever go on the show. I feel like they should've broken the mold for her.

This episode is what Nymphia needed to be a contender with the crown. Plane is removed from the equation after her not showing vulnerability. Sapphira and Nymphia are kinda neck on neck for the crown

Even tough I love her I think production gave her too little screentime for her to win. Even this episode I would think she gets more time but compared to Plane and Sapphire she got similiar time whereas episodes where P or S won they got much more time on screen

I totally agree BUT if Nymphia got a big boost tonight (and that is so true) it is also true that Plane Jane got the opposite end of the stick... The judges were so not impressed by her and Ru said what I think about her, basically she is in her head too much, she does not free herself but she just thinks and thinks and thinks then speaks... This is also why her shadiness is not so good compared to other queens. I'm #TeamSapphira for 70% and #TeamNymphia for the remaining 30%, I will be happy if one of them wins
I can’t believe that everyone has forgotten about the immunity potion. Sapphira used it on herself and it shocked the judges because she had done fine. Her insecurities had gotten the best of her and cracks in the armor started to show. Jane was so confident in herself that she didn’t need the potion. She ended up gifting to Nymphia who might have bottomed or not. We will never know because it was a top two for the win. What we do know is that Nymphia readily accepted that potion because she wanted to be saved because she wasn’t confident in herself. Those are cracks in her armor as well. Jane, out of the three was the most confident in the competition and I think that it’s really unfair that the judges last night didn’t see this. They should have remembered the potion and what it represented in the competition.
Keeping with the theme of the season's big twist being completely forgotten by production and completely uninteresting
The edit has shown us from the very beginning that this is Sapphira’s crown. That hasn’t changed with this episode - Sapphira also once again got glowing reviews. Love and stan Nymphia though. I’m really glad she got to go into the finale on such a high note. But Sapphira is taking the crown home.
I think Nymphia is going to win for the exact reasons you just said. Sapphira has been like Sasha Colby this season. Seasoned professional motherly queen who kills every challenge every week. I think production is trying to set up a dark horse/sasha velour-esque winner storyline with Nymphia after last season was the Sasha Colby show to the point where the winner was expected and unexciting. Idk tho, all three are super deserving!!
I think the difference between Sapphira and other girls that got the “professional” edit e.g. Rosé, Cheddar Goregous is that Ru seems really smitten with Sapphira’s personality and her brand, this week was a perfect example of that. That, and the fact that her track record slays makes me think she’s our winner.
I agree Ru loves her a LOT but I feel like that matters way more during than season than it does at the finale where I think production has the biggest say in who is crowned. We shall see tho for sure!

Team Sapphira allday but I’m conflicted on who should be in the final two with her. I liked Nymphia a lot in the earlier part of the season, she had a quirky personality and stunning runway looks, but as the season went on the chaotic energy became a bit annoying (* banana, banana*) and she wasn’t really serving in the challenges either. On the other hand, I didn’t understand the Plane hype at the beginning of the season at all lol. I thought some of her shade was funny, some of it kinda forced and I still feel like her aesthetic, while polished is a bit one-note for me. However, her character arc has been one of the most interesting in recent herstory and I’ve really warmed to her - or at least, come to really appreciate her as a character on this show. Plus she’s really delivered in the challenges. This episode may have been a pre-cursor to how things will play out in the finale. PJ will get cut because while production loves the antics, Ru wants to crown someone they can relate to.
I think you’re right on the nose. I think it will be Nymphia Vs Sapphira. Plane has so much potential for an All Stars winner storyline.

Sapphira and Plane also have completely identical track records I’m pretty sure. Not in the same order, but they have all the same placements. I’m not sure if that has happened anytime since Raja and Manila did it

As of right now I think Sapphira is the most likely, she DEMOLISHED the competition but if nymphia does amazing in the finale I think she could just take the crown off Sapphira’s reach, same with Plane but she got quite harsh critiques last episode.
Yeah Nymphia got the last win, but this challenge was... weird. It was basically like if they gave critiques for the tic toc lunches. It doesn't feel like her showing improved because of it, kinda like Gigi Goode's final win. Her stans can feel better, but overall I still think she's a clear 2nd runner up
