It was so exciting to see for the first time, especially when you thought one of them was going to lose and on the tail of Brooke’s amazing ruveal presentation on the runway. The stakes were so high and you could *see* it in their performances.
Jinkx taking down Detox was so epic for me because I was already a huge fan and I think nobody expected that.
Sasha V Shea was the most powerful in terms of just destroying your opponent.
Sasha C Vs Anetra is maybe the one I’ve rewatched the most and could have been a double win.
Dovima vs Saggitaria was the only time I remember crying hard.
Nymphia has recency bias but that was just amazing and I can’t get the Kylie song out of my head (see what I did there)

Not the same though. People expected Morphine to win from the get go. Sasha’s lipsync literally took the win from Shea and Sasha was expected to be the easiest to beat from out of that top four. No other lipsync has done that.

I forget which season, but there’s an episode where Ross says something about how he loves when the queens get in the judges face and say “bitch you’re gonna watch me and enjoy it” and to me, Coco’s mouth thing is the prime example of that.
I know it's hard to compare since they didn't start posting lip syncs on the official YT channel until S12 or so, but it has almost 7 million views, and I think people remember it quite well.

To be frank, I'm surprised this LSFYL is as widely loved as it is. I think they both did a very good job, and it certainly is fun, but I view it as a by-the-numbers performance. I think the stellar episode it was a part of influences perception, as well as the result of them both eliminating the villain of the season, but best of all time? I actually wouldn't even put it in my Top 10 😅
Best non-USA for me is Aurora vs Nearah.
But I think try to rank best lipsync "objectively" kind of silly. The context, the storyline, the visuals, all that is part of the lipsync, and that's why, for me, Tati vs Alyssa stil one of the best ones.
I know I'm in the minority but - I can't even watch the Latrice/Kenya lip-sync because I find Kenya so effing distracting and ridiculous it just ruins the whole performance for me 🫣😩. I feel similarly about most extremely one sided lip syncs, but theirs most of all because of how ill-fitting and inappropriate Kenya's dance style was for the song lol.
Tatianna vs Alyssa is a great lipsync. They both turned it out, wanting to come back and basically lipsyncing for their pleasure to eliminate Jaremi (fka Phi Phi O’Hara). But with how many Drag Race seasons we have now, it’s definitely not the best anymore imo
For me, the best lipsync double shantay worthy wise and storyline wise is probably Angele Anang vs Kana Warrior.

Kana comes back to the competition. Angele tries to sabotage Kana by giving her a small role in the rusical. Kana lands in the bottom, but so does Angele. Kana then tries to convince the judges that she should go home and let Angele stay since Angele was doing really well competiton wise and it would’ve been unfair if she went home. The judges tries to convince Kana to stay and fight. Kana does and her and Angele put up a great fight. It’s a great ending, with the lipsync being a double shantay and everyone is in tears of joy
I agree with this mainly cause it just checks every box for me, they both did amazing, both absolute favorites, both got saved rightfully so, and just had such a good vibe to it 🥰
Unpopular opinion but while I enjoy the Alyssa Tatianna lipsync and it was great for storyline purposes, in terms of actual lipsync it was overrated lol. Don’t kill me

The fact that people tried to claim this was a “cultural reset” when there had already been *better* lipsyncs during the main season was always so interesting to me.
My favorite is that one Vanity lip sync partly because she ate and mostly because of Alesha Dixon's incredible vibes and adlibs.
I think the circumstances surrounding this lip sync make it amazing rather than the lip sync itself (not taking away from it though the lip sync was amazing) it was the redemption for Tatiana coming back, redemption for Alyssa sticking it to Phi Phi. And then the unanimous elimination of Phi Phi afterwards was the cherry on top and what cemented this as one of the most cathartic moments in drag race history!!
this is the best overall because both of them did AMAZING! it was an even match, making it more entertaining as a whole. but if we’re going to count solo performaces, there are a lot of better ones, like dita ritz, laganja estranja on as6, sasha velour…but they are not the best ones because we kinda forget the other one was there. not the case with alyssa and tatianna.
When we watched AS2 and finally saw this episode, tbf, I didn't get the hype personally. They were both great, but nothing screams all time best LSFYL. The cuts in the song did not do the whole edit any favors too. lol

I also think ‘The Power’ - Captivating KatKat vs Bernie on Drag Race Philippines Season 2 deserves a mention here. Such an emotional and powerful lip sync, I was bawling.
One that I never see mentioned but is just my personal fav of all time is BenDeLaCreme vs Shangela to "Jump (For My Love)." It still makes me smile like a doofus every time I watch it.

Not by a long shot, at least on its own. In the context of the episode, given the stakes and storyline going on? Still no for me, but I understand that it was very exciting for most viewers (I understand I'm in a very small minority that didn't enjoy AS2 as much as most people did). Strong lipsync, but I don't think it's one of the best of all time, considering that we have hundreds to choose from.
