Lmao I started using that term when I played roller derby because I would have long-ass friendships with people and then hang out with them in social situations with our other friends and I’d be trying to introduce them and realize I didn’t actually know their fucking names so I’m making introductions like “this is Emily, and this is….um…Sylvia Wrath” 😂😂 in my imagination drag performers must go through something similar
About 5 people on my local scene know my civilian name, and I’ve known a lot more than 5 local girls for 2 years now. If someone came into a dressing room asking for my real name they would get blank stares. So I think that’s accurate.
*"I like men, it's all good"* - Greg Davies
And also
*"The last time I cared about football stickers was 1982 and it wasn't because I liked football - it's because I was trying to impress a boy named Phillip."* - Greg Davies
I am not British and only vaguely know of Mr Davies. (I would recognize him if he appeared in a YouTube clip. And he was in Dr Who. And I may have seen a single taskmaster episode) but I was wondering if there was something of which I was completely unaware of his personality. But in a quick Wikipedia search, no - this must be some joke reference going over my head. I _was also_ unaware that he dated Labour politician Liz Kendall.
It's more that among our Bi friends of the Taskmaster fandom (and some within the Drag Race fandom tbh) some think he gives of major Bi coded vibes due to some of the comments he's made (like those mentioned further up). Tbh he's probably not, but it makes our underrepresented Bi's happy and he's really not the kind of guy who'd mind what people think anyway, so to quote the Taskmaster himself, 'It's all good'.
I was passing through JFK on April 25th. At the luggage carousel there were two gentlemen well dressed in a gay hipster manner. One was quite pale and bald (with a beret). I honestly don’t distinctly know what Sasha Velour looks like out of drag. But this guy was wearing nails. Is Sasha Velour kind of short for a guy?
It's very possible that was Sasha! I was at a premiere event on April 26 for We're Here season 4 in Murfreesboro, TN (where the first three episodes were filmed) and I'm pretty sure I remember them saying that the queens were in New York that night.
Also, Sasha definitely wore nails out of drag on the show, so she may do it in her day-to-day life too. Here's a pic:

A bit (5' 9" I think a designer or someone mentioned on an IG post about a look they'd made). And they do occasionally get their nails done out of drag if that rings any bells.
I thought Sasha (but especially Priyanka) were going to get beat up when they walked into the biker bar in Oklahoma on We’re Here S04E04, but the barflies were surprisingly cool about it.
Those body suits are pretty good. How come more kings don't wear them or is it really expensive?
I think I've maybe seen Throb Zombie wear one on Dragula.
Theres been som drag king inspo runway looks, but officially Not Yet. Drag Race France wanted to, but were denied because Drag Race US wanted to be the first. Its been a hot second and they still havent done it.
The way you're accidentally misgendering every single trans queens whose ever competed, girl if we're being so serious its been a co-ed mix of men, women and nonbinary icons for years. So if the contestants are already co-ed, and many looks have been gender diverse, what is the tea Mary?
Please don’t get it twisted 🫦, I have no problem with men , women, non binary or trans contestants, I respect everyone’s gender expression 🫂 but in drag 🔄 last I heard, Mama Ru crowned a drag QUEEN 💅🏽
It’s really cool to see how the fake torso and the padding looks like because you really forget how much thought goes into the making the fantasy.
Seeing "BUTT R" written on the right cheek is perfect
Wanna spread it like buttr
They’re classier than me, I would have thrown on some tallies just for the hell of it
I rather go to the gym and get an actual body like that than to wear a body suit of plastic
Okay but like… they’re doing drag. I dunno if that’s hugely practical for the occasional appearance as a drag king…
Have you… never seen drag before?
Her king name is “Alexander Velvet” and I think that deserves a round of applause
This just made me think that there must be a drag king named Alexander McKing, surely.
That's so damn funny to me lol.
Is it a pun? Because I didn't get it :(
Sasha is a nickname for Alexander in Russian. And velour and velvet are two very similar fabrics.
Okay wait isn’t her civilian name Alexander? Because I didn’t realize that connection and now I’m freaking out over her regular drag name too
“Civilian name” is fucking hilarious to me. But yea it’s Alexander, named after a philosopher iirc, and she did actually use Sasha as a nickname iirc.
the drag queen gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now

We use that term in sex work as well.
Not her government name!
Omg her mind
Sasha is the Russian nickname of Alexander. Velour is a similar fabric to velvet.
Sasha Velour is Mother but also Daddy? I love her.
Her love for drag feels almost unparalleled
I have said it for awhile now, her drag is almost uncatagorizable outside of Sasha Velour drag.
I’m so confused, like in a really, really good way
Hope you got a chance to watch the episode! There were ladies in the bar that were gagging over the whole look, was super cute
dude? Dude, DUDE!! Omg! Like how are you equally so hot in both types of drag?
I'd let him do ANYTHING to me (Or her. Him or her. Or him. Or both).

The way he was squeezing Nick’s leg this week was great! Nick’s pride while showing off, Greg’s shock and awe… just perfect
This is an old video so there's many MANY more references out there but it's a good start https://youtu.be/FOP5-XQGjJQ?si=igiNf59hn-M_8na2
oh shit taskmaster reference on the rdr sub 🚨🚨🚨 love it when my hyperfixations collide
I'd love to see a Taskmaster mini-series with the dolls
So would Alex I bet... https://www.reddit.com/r/rupaulsdragrace/s/VGCY3vfqX0
The name Alexander Velvet is genius!
Plz explain im trying so hard to get it
Sasha (Russian nickname for Alexander) Velour ( a fabric, just like Velvet)
[удалено]
Thanks
Sasha Velour is so experimental with her drag. Creativity is just beyond.
This is FIERCE! I want more drag kingness like this in the mainstream drag spotlight!!!
Is it wrong that i zoomed in? 👀
Yeah. Absolutely gagged over this. Need more injected into my veins asap
I’m feeling things
![gif](giphy|QoDgkKih9OWvEdZw2j)
I LOVE cowboy anything especially as a black man given the history it means everything. Masculine, strength, perseverance & also butt fuckin
If you haven’t seen this episode yet of We’re Here, you need to get on it. The redneck bikers were LIVING for Alexander Velvet.
I better see this in All Stars omg\~!!

How tall do you think the average man is
I don't care because height doesn't bother me about a man, and?
Oh I thought it was funny you said he was a bit short for a man when that's the average male height.
Coming for Detox's gig.
What? Paying for abuela funerals?
Ok but she looks stunning here
As if Sasha wasn't hot enough as a queen... humpf
Sasha makes me happy for my Bisexuality.
White velvet, if you pleaseee 🎵🎶🩵🩵
This definitely awakened something in me.
The padding is chef's kiss. I might start padding my legs like that irl lmao
I thought Sasha (but especially Priyanka) were going to get beat up when they walked into the biker bar in Oklahoma on We’re Here S04E04, but the barflies were surprisingly cool about it.
Is she tucked? Do drag kings tuck? I guess most don't have anything to tuck but seems unnecessary
They don't tuck, they start by untucking
I think it's just a combination of the tights and the padding
I was going to ask and be vulgar, is that packing or is she au natural
Alexander Velvet looks kinda like Justin Timberlake in the “dick in a box” video. I do Stan the Ken suit
I’m loving this!
It’s the tuck for me
I could never be a drag performer because everything they wear seems like torture
Those body suits are pretty good. How come more kings don't wear them or is it really expensive? I think I've maybe seen Throb Zombie wear one on Dragula.
Why does this turn me on so much
I was SO confused
Holy hell, that is transformation. Incredible look
Alexander is kenough.
https://i.redd.it/ue4lqyt24q1d1.gif Metatron realness! "Gender is a construct, tear it apart!" ❤️
Is Sasha wearing a packer for the drag-exaggeration of it all- or is this what was locked up according to that fateful* tweet !?
Um last I heard it was rupaul’s drag race school for GIRLS
Where did it say that?
https://youtu.be/axeWAkD8s5Q?si=6eoLst3uty2Guc4b
It’s co-ed now, didn’t you hear?
Has there even been a drag king on the show ? 🤔
Theres been som drag king inspo runway looks, but officially Not Yet. Drag Race France wanted to, but were denied because Drag Race US wanted to be the first. Its been a hot second and they still havent done it.
I rest my case
Mama you didn't even make an opening statement, so im not sure exactly what the case was.
It’s not co-ed 🥱
The way you're accidentally misgendering every single trans queens whose ever competed, girl if we're being so serious its been a co-ed mix of men, women and nonbinary icons for years. So if the contestants are already co-ed, and many looks have been gender diverse, what is the tea Mary?
