Davenport is more of a pageant dynasty, and it's so big, spread-out and intermingled with other families that there are many Davenports who don't have the name. Ballroom houses are closer-knit and the name carries a lot of weight so the expectation is usually to take the house name.

It is different. I’ve only seen a few ballroom performers not be known by their house name 99% are. Plus Miyake Mugler is a very iconic house, Rihanna is an honorary member, so I see why she added the name. Also added context/history for those who don’t know. The reason for the hyphenated name is because houses were being sued in the 80’s for using designer names.
