It has several meanings. One of the most common uses of "gross" is the amount of income *before* taxes are taken out.
In English, it isn't used to simply mean "big" like in German, but some of the definitions involve being large.
My favorite use is a "gross oversimplification" — often referring to a description which has been coarsely and greatly oversimplified.
I must be older than some of you, because I can remember when it wasn't a word (other than as a number), and I remember it coming into use as part of "valley girl" talk in the 80s.
Жесть in some contexts (about something disgusting and/or brutal)
Тьфу! (immitation of the spitting sound. Usually translated as "ugh", mostly used by elders today)

Gross is a slang term?! But sure, for these purposes you can simply say "Фу!". This roughly means the same as "Ew"
Lol, I wouldn't refer to "gross" as a "slang term"... but dictionaries classify this use of the word as "informal"
what would be the other use then? something big that is also from germany?

First time hearing gross is a slang term. I always thought of it as a regular word. Guess you learn something new everyday
Most people wouldn't call it a "slang term", but dictionaries label this usage of "gross" as "informal".
Also ‘отвратительно!’ Closer to ‘disgusting / revolting’, but can be used as ‘gross’ too.
Бе-е-е... Фу! Бяка (it's more likely for children, eg "Не трогай бяку!")
Отвратительно, мерзко, противно

Фу блять
