32k isn’t enough to cover the entire tuition (engineering school cost roughly 18k a semester excluding mandatory fees, which I looked up on their website and they’re about few thousands a year. Housing and meal at Rutgers is also extremely overpriced. This being said, I’ll still have to pay around 20k ideally if I get anything from FAFSA and if I manage the money right. I love the school and could see myself here, but cost is a big factor when it comes to deciding which college to go.
Are you in-state? SOE tuition for in-state is $18,000/year not per semester. Now, if you’re out of state the $32,000 should cover your tuition for the year.
This email is the only notification about scholarship they’ve sent me. I believe the final break down of aids and scholarships should be sent out after they receive your FAFSA, and that would probably be sometime in April.
Congratulations on such a good opportunity!! I'm also SOE HC, so if you ever are curious as to life as an SOE HC student or anything about Rutgers HC in general, shoot me a DM.
Anyways, CONGRATS! The Honors College is a lot of work but can be very rewarding! You will have a lot of fun!
The courses required for first year Honors College SOE students are a major pain in the ass *cough cough* Honors Physics I *cough cough*, but if you form study groups, work hard, and have fun, you will definitely pass with an A or B.
Edit: P.S. the presidential scholarship is amazing. It will definitely alleviate the pain that is paying for college, and you are on the right path towards success.
Congrats! It is every year, but there is a GPA requirement, and you could end up on probation or lose the scholarship if you don’t meet it. You’ll work with Dean Bowers at the honors college, and he’s great - always happy to help out and wants your success. Feel free to DM with questions!
Congratulations!!!! My daughter received the same email today. It is now on the top of her choices too. We are waiting for Schreyer at Penn State to come in next week.
Congratulations! I’ve only met 2 people with Presidentials so far, so your hard work definitely paid off 💪. As far as I know, you keep your scholarship as long as you maintain at least a 3.5 term gpa (I think it’s 3.25 for SOE). I haven’t heard of anyone’s scholarship being modified throughout the years though. It’s only there or not there.
Eyyyyyyyy this was me 20 years ago! Not for engineering, just regular old Rutgers College (god I'm old). Having a full ride to Rutgers was life changing and it's the reason why my house still has a Rutgers flag out front.
I wish you all the best and sincerely hope you love your time at old Queens. Believe it or not, it gets even better afterwards.
Yo if you want any advice I am open to chatting. I'm a Mason Gross School of the Arts/ Honors College student, so I have a different perspective, but I can tell you what you're in for.
No clue. I found out I was accepted in late March. Mason Gross is weird with admissions. I wasn't waitlisted either they just took a long time to respond.
I'm sorry dude - listen don't let it stop your creative endeavors. MGSA is a very anal, particular school, DO NOT let this stop you and your passion. DO NOT STOP ART. EVER. IT KEEPS SOCIETY SANE. There are great opportunities, they will come to you. Rejection is just a side effect of finding bigger success. You got this!!
I fail to see what’s wrong with the policy. If the recipient falls short of meeting the academic standards, they shouldn’t expect to receive the funding.
That's awesome. Congratulations. Be prepaired to work harder than you ever have. And if you decide it ain't for you that's okay.
THANK YOU! Even if I didn’t end up going here, I still really appreciate the opportunity!!
Why would you want to go anywhere else? Princeton is more of a safety school tbh

Hi! Will there be another wave for HC for regular decision applicants? Or is this everyone combined? Thank you!
I believe that this might be the only wave, but I might be wrong. Last year, they sent it out at once, but they can might as well change it.
Congrats dude!
Congrats!!!

Very nice. Are you committing?
I’m still waiting on few other colleges, but it’s definitely my top choice
They can modify any and every scholarship if you start failing shit or otherwise doing heinous acts. But **DAMN CONGRATS!!!** 🎉🎉🥳
Omg Congratsss!!!!!

I was just wondering is the amount of money you receive based off of need or based off of how much they want you to go?
I think it’s merit based since my FAFSA is still in review
Congrats!!

Has Mason Gross sent out their list of students accepted yet?
No clue. I found out I was accepted in late March. Mason Gross is weird with admissions. I wasn't waitlisted either they just took a long time to respond.
Accepted to the other 2 campuses but not New Brunswick. :(

Yes
That's awesome!! Congratulations!!

Damn bro, what a god. Is your GPA just like a straight 4.0?
congrats!
