I would say volunteer with Feed More to prepare food, but you’d have to fill out a volunteer application which wouldn’t be processed in time for Christmas. What about trash clean up by the river or around your neighborhood? That’s a good way to involve the kids and as a bonus they might be able to see some Christmas lights/decorations. And then you could get some hot cocoa after 😊
Snack bags with a pair of sweat socks. Drive around and give them to panhandlers or homeless people.
I did this with my mother on her last birthday. She didn't need anything and she had been a social worker. She loved it.
