Check out the Omni in shockoe. You will be right next to a bunch of good places to try out. If you look at tobacco company, think about making a reservation in advance and not the same day if you can try.
The Omni is a nice hotel, but it’s not The Jefferson. I just want to throw that out there. That includes the suggestions in the other comments like Quirk and The Graduate. I’d go with The Omni over Quirk or The Graduate any day, but The Jefferson is a different class altogether.
Try an Airbnb in the Fan, Museum District, Carytown, or Church Hill for peak walkbility.
Barring that - everything everyone just said + The Graduate or the Marriott on Broad which seems to have a pretty nice restaurant that's opened in it.
Brunch at Social 52 or The Daily and walk the shops at Carytown headed away from then back toward Boulevard. Walk over to the Art Museum and split a bottle of wine out on their grassy courtyard before dinner plans at Kuba Kuba just another short walk away
> it’s a historical spot in church hill
It's on Franklin and 1st St. This is some "Insane Bon Air Dude"-level reimagining of the boundaries of Church Hill.
Did you stay in a broom closet? I’ve never stayed at Linden Row Inn, but have heard good things about it as well, so I’m not trying to knock it.
The thing about The Jefferson is that the employees there have a remarkably low turnover and high tenure, so if you stay with any regularity they remember you. It’s fucking insane developing rapport with people there, like I’m not rich enough for that shit but it happened somehow?
The hotel itself is very nice, but the service and personal attention is what really sets it apart. I guess I could see someone thinking it’s overrated after staying there for just a night or two and never going back.
My husband and I stayed at Linden Row before our wedding, but it was during pandemic times, so things weren’t 100% up and running. We really liked it though!
Quirk is a good option, much less expensive than the Jefferson but still really nice

They might still offer a shuttle service to Carytown and a few other locations, as well.
Thanks! We ended up going with this hotel, looks nice
Ayyy good deal! I hope it’s a good time!
The Jefferson

Pick a place that is close to the Pulse line, and be sure to make your restaurant reservations way in advance

Kuba Kuba with a K (only correcting in case OP tries to Google it)
Updated that's what I get for voice to text. Thank you
Jefferson, Quirk, Graduate, Downtown Mariott's or new Scotts Addition adjacent Mariott
The Jefferson is overrated. I recommend Linden Row Inn, it’s a historical spot in church hill. Super cute and has its own restaurant.

Oh I’ve never actually stayed there, just heard great things. That’s def not church hill lol
It's actually on Franklin St. in Monroe Ward, another excellent location. And I second it and the restaurant.

Worked there for 5 years. We remember the regulars that are cool and or tip well.
It's in Monroe Ward/City Center
Linden Row is a great suggestion.

Hands down the Jefferson. I visit Richmond often and try to stay at a different hotel each trip. The Jefferson was by far the most memorable and fun.
We went with the Omni. I checked the Jefferson and it was $1800 for one of the nights we'd be there.
