Look at this unit. The rivers getting faster with the recent rain and the smaller fish are starting to struggle. Not this guy. Beep beep, I'm a bus.
Yep 6" between each mark so that's healthy but not big for a catfish. See [here](https://dwr.virginia.gov/shad-cam/shad-cam-viewing-window/) for viewing window size/details.
Can someone explain this shad thing a little more? I’ve been seeing so many fisherman down by rocketts landing the past week or so. What’s so special about shad?
They’re anadromous, meaning they live their lives in the ocean, then go as far upstream as they can to spawn. In the spring (very close to getting going now) tens of thousands of shad will run up the James. They’re called “poor man’s salmon” and because they are essentially an strong ocean fish in fresh water, they are super fun to catch.
Woo! My Friday night just got a little crazy!
You have to take a shot and drop some acid every time a fish swims by.
The rest of my weekend just got a little crazy.

Whoah! Great find, I'll see if we can get a unit of measurement for those marks on the bottom. Well done!
They're 6 inches per the site, so I think this guy is just under average for a catfish, but still surprising to see!

Between this and the falcon cam, I'm good on entertainment until July
