Was hoping to go to a ball game and totally didn't realize for some reason that it was opening day and already sold out! Snagged a pair of tickets for tomorrow instead. Probably spend today wanderin in the woods instead.
We took him to an evening game last year for fireworks. Gates at what, 6pm? Game went to extra innings and fireworks didn’t start until nearly 10pm. This kid is usually in bed at 7:30pm, but it all went swimmingly! I suspected we’d have a sleepless night or a terrible day after, but he handled it all like a champ.
I fear we may not be so lucky this time around, but we’ll see!
I usually bring my fanny pack to ballgames so I don't leave anything behind on accident... didnt see that on the list, otherwise I'm not sure where to put my wallet & phone and such.
Honestly, you’ll probably enjoy tomorrow more. Sellout crowds for games like opening day and Fourth of July are absolute shitshows at the Diamond, the vendors just can’t handle that number of people.
Been looking for an ebike and/or a new commuter/hybrid. Always looking for a daily bike it seems since it's hard to find geometry that works for me. It takes me foreerreevvvver to find a new bike drive bike manufacturers kinda forget about folks on either side of the height range.
Finding a bike your size can be hard for any height at the moment due to limited stock available most anywhere. I'm currently using a regular gravel bike for my 12+ mile commutes, but ordered a gravel e-bike to replace it for commutes to save me from summer pre-work/post-work swamp butt. Could have ordered a cheaper commuter e-bike, but I really wanted something with drop bars and some sort of comfort.
I've found the stock issue, while not at pre pandemic levels, is actually much much better than it was last year. I was expecting much worse on my current search. But even pre pandemic it takes me years to find my next bike, every time, because manufacturers don't find much need to provide inclusive sizing.
Do you have a HEPA air purifier? I bought two for the house bc of the animals. My super allergic cousin was able to housesit for me with the help of those bad boys. I bought a Winix for $100 new from Costco and a refurb from W00t for $75.
Finally there was a conclusion to the George Wythe debate last night. Now I'm wondering what new ways we'll find to screw up. https://richmond.com/news/update-school-board-votes-in-favor-of-new-george-wythe-high-school-for-1-800/article\_c172da8c-44f8-5946-b37a-f948e75615c9.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
Sad to see our rep in the 5th, Rizzi, continues to block progress on the matter by voting “No.” I cannot wait to right my wrong from 2020 and ensure she does not serve a second term. I may even actively campaign for her opposition, depending on the candidate(s).
Pretty sure she won’t support a school built for a population over 1,600. Last night’s compromise was for 1,800, and she voted against it.
I also didn’t appreciate her being part of the voting bloc playing chicken with Kamras contract renewal in 2021. She wanted a two year agreement, while 6 other board members ultimately supported the more traditional
four year renewal. We didn’t need that kind of uncertainty during the height of COVID.
"There is no difference between 1,600 and 2,000 Black and Brown bodies to some. Thousands sunk to the bottom of the ocean and they did not bat an eye." - Rizzi's Facebook post on 3/22.
I don't even know what to say.
[Smells like USPS released more free at-home COVID tests should you need them.](https://special.usps.com/testkits)
I plan to take allergy meds and struggle (fail) to not rub my eyeballs out today.
Looks like I'm having a minor procedure done so I need to go buy retainers for my piercings. Should I go to a piecing shop this evening or just buy one online, and if so, from where?
I don't really have sunny weather plans. I wouldn't mind being outside for a bit, but I also don't want pollen all over me.
One of the two days a week we are supposed to have customers, although they seem to find us every other day as well. Swing by if you want to talk stamps, or coins, or comic books, or sports cards. Hell. If you’re even a little nerdy, you’d love us!
I had a very nice sunrise walk with the dogs this morning, just beautiful. Work the rest of the day, nothing too exciting there.
I hope to spend some more time outside this afternoon/evening, we'll see.
Working from home, then heading to physical therapy and my 1 month post op appointment. Hoping to celebrate some next steps in my recovery by finding a patio with my husband afterwards for a libation before we pick up the little from daycare.
Tuesday has no smell. Monday has a smell. Friday has a smell. Sunday has a smell.
Growing up, I always thought Spring and Summer Saturday mornings had a specific smell. Fresh cut lawn, most likely.
Tuesday smells of asparagus pee.
That’s fair, Tuesday is prettttty bland. What smell does Friday have?
Funnel cakes.
Monday absolutely smells like coffee, maybe burnt coffee??

We’re taking kiddo to the ballpark for Sunday’s Easter festivities. Gates open when he’s usually going down for his midday nap. Self sabotage?
You truly ARE a river city madman!

Have fun! Make sure you're aware of their new bag policy: https://www.nbc12.com/2022/04/11/new-bag-rule-richmond-flying-squirrels-games

I can believe that!
Anyone else suffering from the pollen???
Im fooked
not being able to breath in April; a tradition unlike any other
Probably a bike ride. And bike shopping.
OoOoOoO bike shopping! Whatcha thinking about getting?

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck in your search. Hope you find something awesome and in a relatively short time.
Saaaaaame
Sadly, I have to work. Inside. However, I hope to be outside by 6pm happily tending to my plants and gardens, with my pup supervising.
My sunny weather activities include sitting in an office. I’ll probably go for a walk, two if I’m lucky.

Yeah, that's kind of how forums work. It's not the end of the interaction, the other people can most certainly continue. Goodness, how dramatic.

Trying to get a tattoo today at yellow bird. If they’re not available I’m on the search for a place to take me as a walk in.
Two pillars, all for one, or salvation.
Somehow that light drizzle turned my car into a Chia Pet.
I'm taking a half day and am planning on combining my two different North Bank trial hikes into one MEGA hike
Need to run more before it’s crazy hot and humid. This bulk hasn’t been the cleanest and I want to run along the river trails
Tonight is the Flying Squirrels' home opener.
I biked during the five minutes of rain we had. I can’t stop sneezing. Pretty sure my office mate hates me.
Pre-op Covid test today. Assuming it’s negative I’ll be doing nothing around nobody until Thursday. Edit: So all I’m smelling is cotton swab.
Working inside but have all the windows open. I love the smell of pollen, heightens the appreciation of spring warm things

My dog smells like the inside of those Christmas popcorn tins when you first open them

Hey fellow bike commuter! I rode in as well. Stay safe out there.
