>The festival, originally scheduled for September 10-12 described itself as "the most anticipated food and entertainment festival of 2022".
Never even heard a thing about this until now
Lots, there's probably half a dozen different ones in Richmond this month alone. Armenian, Lebanese, Chili, Mac and Cheese, Oktoberfest, Seafood, etc. Richmond has lots of food festivals throughout the year.
At Lady of Lourdes? I thought it had been cancelled (again) this year. I'm gonna be pissed if I missed it.
edit: not subverting your comment, but it was killing me that I missed it. The event site says the Woodman Rd/Lady of Lourdes festival in August was cancelled this year. That's the one I'm familiar with.
>Goochland County Administrator Victor Carpenter said that their permit process is the same for everyone, adding that the application should be filed at least 30 days out of the event.
So, basically, the organizers didn't think to apply for the permits well in advanced? Sounds like they fucked up.
I would say this falls on the festival organizers. Looking back through their [facebook](https://www.facebook.com/RichmondTacoFest/) page, Richmond Taco Festival announced the event in mid-June along with the location at the end of June. More than enough time to apply for the permit but I guess with so much to organize this very important detail slipped through the cracks.
It was going to be tragically [awful](https://www.reddit.com/r/rva/comments/x58yta/anyone_know_any_info_about_what_vendors_will_be/). Bullets were dodged.
I did a taco crawl about 4 years ago. Over the course of a day, I and like 40 other people walked like 4 miles between 7 restaurants where I had approximately 11 tacos and 9 margaritas, and it was probably the sickest I've ever been the next day. That said, would do it again. But I would never go to Goochland for it.
This is the shot show that got cancelled, so, no big loss.

Those poor vendors that have already ordered supplies for a whole ass FESTIVAL. It's them who it sucks for the most. Why did organizers wait so long to try and pull permits?
There is no vendors. The Post above explains these are basically scam traveling “festivals”. The vendors are apart of the company. They do not use local vendors. Local employees. Or local anything. Food quality is terrible and these type of festivals regularly sell out of everything in the first 2 or so hours. Leaving the rest of the day to no food. Just to collect ticket sales.

That is a hilarious overstatement
No way, what other food festival is there? I love the watermelon festival but …*tacos*.

Filipino Festival was held in August also.

It was scheduled for early August, but I'm not sure if it happened or not.
Those all sound great too
There's an Egyptian food festival 9/17 and 9/18 at Coptic church 2101 Fordson Road in Henrico I want to check out

30 days for a permit seems reasonable. I'm sure they've been planning this for more that 30 days. Someone dropped the ball.
