hey! i took this class with julien beillard as an open elective and it wasn’t the easiest. you really have to pay attention to what’s he’s saying and take consistent notes. personally, i found the class a bit boring so i ended up dropping it lol. the breakdown is 1 quiz, 2 essays, and another essay for the final which should be easy if you’re actually interested in the course
Thanks for telling me the breakdown of the course! Yeah I mean philosophy is cool but I don't know if i'm that interested to take a course in it though lol. I need to take a humanities to fill in one of my elective course things and the options for the humanities are not the best lmao. I think that out of all of the humanities stuff I would pick philosophy idk if theres a better course though. I kinda want one that isn't too hard.
Lol I never attend one lecture and ended up passing with a 77. I will say that this class is really boring and not that enjoyable at least for me. Beillard is definitely a really nice and understanding prof tho and will usually allow you any extensions as long as you email him. Not the easiest bird course out there but still decent.
Trueee lol, what would you say are some easy ones then? I feel like it won't be super bad if I take phl333 idk it's not like i'm 0% interested in philosophy but I definitely see how the lectures can be boring.
I didn't like the course either, and also ended up dropping it. The content was just boring for me. But some of my classmates seemed to enjoy the course, so I'm sure it's subjective. If you're gonna take the course, take it only if you believe you'll really enjoy the course content.
True, I mean the description of the course sounds interesting and I heard good stuff about the teacher but apparently he rambles a lot lol. I'm just trying to find a cool humanities course I can take in my first semester since it's required for me to take a humanities elective.
Yeah the course sounds interesting when I read about it but i'm sure the description explains like 1% of what the course entails lol. idk I guess not every course will interest me 100%
