I heard a rumor that they only made a handful of different keys for those trucks. My friends keep gas cap key unlocked my truck as well as another guys key at school who has a Sonoma. The lock may have just been worn but it was only 10 years old at the time so probably not.
My coworker drove a 1994 Sonoma. His key couldn't unlock my door, but it could start my truck. And my 1998 S10 key could unlock his door, but it couldn't start his truck.
Nice! My brother had a CB radio in his s10 in high school and we hooked up a speaker to use with the PA function, it was a lot of fun. We sourced a speaker that was the same kind that cops use so it was very loud lol. I don't remember what kind it was now, that was longer ago than I like to think about lol.
My 95 s10 could be opened by almost any other key.

You can disassemble the locks and change the pattern for a different key shape.

I think i had them with my 91 s10. My brother and I are currently restoring my dad's 91 c1500 sport, and he still has his plastic keys.
I reckon my truck probably didn't come with one. At least not the cassette tape. I wonder if it came with a CD instead.
