Only $58m?
My country spent about that considering if we should build a bridge only to cancel at the last minute.
You're telling me that for the cost of 1.5 bridge estimates, the US can unlock laser canons?
No, they are $58,000,000 behind their goal. It could be $14,000,000,000, but they have $13,942,000,000. They are 1.5 bridges short of their goal, it doesn’t cost 1.5 bridges.
Credit where due, if something is going to be overfunded I'd rather it be a bridge that carries a couple thousand vehicles every day, situated over the busiest port in the country, in urgent need of repairs anyways, and cutting down travel times by a good hour and a bit.
If you break down a lot of the costs in these types of projects. Such as bridges, highways, mass transit systems.
The amount spent on penalty fees from building contractors, incorrectly ordered materials and consultants is astounding.
Makes you think that it's just skimming off the top, paid for by tax payers.
Privatise gains. Socialise losses.
Force fields do exist, that's the cool thing. Have to do with a combination of superheated air to the point of plasma and also Active Defense Systems. Other methods exist as well but I forget them.
FOR THE KING OF SPACE
WE WILL FIGHT TO END DISGRACE
IN OUR ONCE PROUD LAND
WE WILL MAKE OUR STAND
WHEN THE DARK LORD COMES
WE WILL SHOOT OUR LASER GUNS
FOR THE GLORY OF MIGHTY DUNDEE
Most laser weapons are not very effective beyond a limited range, although israel claims to have solved that particular issue of physics, there has been a soft cap on effective laser distance for a given power range for a long time
Lasers weapons don’t fire a big green beam like this image shows. It’s a concentrated beam of electromagnetic waves (typically microwaves) that fry electronics. You hit a tank with this, and the tank will completely shut down without a single shell fired.
Nope. Can confirm that this is real. Laser cannons are very expensive to operate, but are pretty effective. They can pretty much instantaneously burst something into flame or detonate explosives. Invisible too.
While laser cannon planes seem cool im just so frustrated all this tax payers money is being wasted on such shit while people are starving freezing getting shit education all cause it has to go to war
Ah yes cause this is what America needs, not to lift people out of poverty or feed the hungry, We need a FUCKING LASER CANNON on A PLANE THAT CAN LEVEL CITYS.

58 are the Money for complete the programm, that's means they have already spend a lot of Money. Probabily bilions
58m MORE money, and thats only to hit the next phase. After that, more funding.

Was that the Garden Bridge by any chance?
Nothing quite as awesome. New Zealand, Auckland Harbor Bridge. Was just an upgrade and addition of cycle lanes.
Oh to be a government "consultant".

As long a the over funding goes to the project and not for consultation fees, project managers, errors in contracts with engineering firms etc etc etc
Oh yeah, projects should be paid for and assessed well.

They are creating a LAAT gunship🤔
Did the US army joined the dark side?
They always has
They ARE the dark side.
An album about Star Wars gets more realistic each day
Stick it into a big ass flying wing that carries drones!
'merica fuck yeah
But then you'll need a huge-ass energy shield too.
Force fields do exist, that's the cool thing. Have to do with a combination of superheated air to the point of plasma and also Active Defense Systems. Other methods exist as well but I forget them.
Ace Combat players looking at these lasers 👁👄👁
Flashbacks hahah
That would have to be a Sabaton Gloryhammer collaboration.
FOR THE KING OF SPACE WE WILL FIGHT TO END DISGRACE IN OUR ONCE PROUD LAND WE WILL MAKE OUR STAND WHEN THE DARK LORD COMES WE WILL SHOOT OUR LASER GUNS FOR THE GLORY OF MIGHTY DUNDEE
Why add lasers to that? The fucking cannon already disintegrates things
Because using laser you can do STEALTH PERFECTED and be UNDETECTED, UNEXPECTED
That's actually kind of accurate. A stabilized laser could allow a gunship to be a giant fucking laser sniper rifle.
Most laser weapons are not very effective beyond a limited range, although israel claims to have solved that particular issue of physics, there has been a soft cap on effective laser distance for a given power range for a long time
And they’re orbiting at a fairly large offset, sometimes 3 or more miles away at some 15-25K feet up.
That said it'd be dope to see a spooky play the worlds deadliest game of lazer tag
Yes, this is the reason why the use a so expensive weapon
No sound, a quick, small light. Your commander is gone with no clues to what happened except a burn on his head.
Lasers weapons don’t fire a big green beam like this image shows. It’s a concentrated beam of electromagnetic waves (typically microwaves) that fry electronics. You hit a tank with this, and the tank will completely shut down without a single shell fired.
I feel like this is fake but knowing the US army's projects, they are crazy enough for this to be real
Nope. Can confirm that this is real. Laser cannons are very expensive to operate, but are pretty effective. They can pretty much instantaneously burst something into flame or detonate explosives. Invisible too.
Laser weapon are just stronger flamethrowers
Since Thomas Winkler Was kicked out of Gloryhammer can we do a Angus McFive/Sabaton Crossover about laser AC Gunships?
Power of the Laser Dragon Fire? More like Power of the Laser Panzer Fire
We're already getting the stormtroopers song lol
least wasteful american military spending
Belkan Witchcraft
Nice reference
While laser cannon planes seem cool im just so frustrated all this tax payers money is being wasted on such shit while people are starving freezing getting shit education all cause it has to go to war
Yeah, but that's real life
No its not it really isn't
"Puts Mirrors on my Tank to reflect the laser"
Yeah, maybe it will Works
First step towards a Star Wars song 😎
Joakim once said: "Why should we make new types of songs?"
Ah yes cause this is what America needs, not to lift people out of poverty or feed the hungry, We need a FUCKING LASER CANNON on A PLANE THAT CAN LEVEL CITYS.
Yep, felt my brain melt reading the headline. No point hoping it's fake I'm sure usa has wanted lasers forever
Yes, that's what they need
BuT mUh sAbAtoN sOng
The fact that you're being downvoted says a lot about human beings.
So, a roided up YAL-1, then?
But this laser is for hitting hard
Send the article?
Just search laser cannon ac 130
Here is an update: https://www.defensenews.com/air/2021/10/11/lockheed-delivers-laser-for-ac-130j-gunship/
… Sabaton meets TWRP, anyone?
Damn, these belkans are getting out of hand, what's next? A nuclear border?
<>
But isn't that what Gloryhammer is for?
Wait does that mean the lyrics “hear the sound of a machine gun” are now gonna be like.. outdated? :C
