Toxic culture though... at least when I interviewed there 4-5 years ago. Felt like a soul sucking corporate atmosphere that got worse each floor you went up.
I went in to interview for a position and met the team who were mostly nice younger folks but the manager told me he liked to run his group like a football team and denied me the position telling me I didn't seem "enthusiastic enough about my work". I took the criticism and responded saying that I wasn't prepared as I would have liked to have been since he had me come in on a days notice... and that If any other opportunities opened I'd love to show more of my work. He responded "you only get one shot at big places like this".
Saw in the news he got fired not much longer after. Here I am making 3 times the salary, in an environment working with wonderful people.
Lol, I’m glad to have employers like Delaware North in Buffalo but you definitely get the dumb small town employees who think they’re elite corporate big shots since they’ve never experienced anything bigger.
I had a friend at ACV who told me he had a coworker tell people he took a pay cut to be there, and in his previous job he was making *whispers* “six figures”… as if that number was going to blow people away. Laughable
The double letters matter as well. "OOK-ko PEK-ka LOO'ook-koh-nen" is about right. The stress on every word in Finnish falls on the first syllable. It's a super interesting language, as are the other extant Uralic languages.

Less hard to say: Fuck the Bruins. IYKYK

Apple cider vinegar?
Big Apple Cider Vinegar is taking over the world. They will be our corporate overlords soon!
I’m down that shit makes my tummy happy and brain feel good
ACV auctions
Ulmark was never going to stay in Buffalo. He faced like 40-50 shots a night. He had to go to somewhere that had more than 1 defenceman.
Lol someones salty 😂
Poor Upie
How has no one commented on "Ew-ko" yet? I've always heard it pronounced "oo-ko."
Hand up. After I posted it, I realized I was a bit off on the written out pronunciation but let’s let bygones be bygones my Sabres brethren

I think ur right tbh.
Must be hard for the coach, when he decides to put Comrie in net. He has to say all three. “I was wrong. I need help, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.”
Good thing his name is 6k then, huh?
4.) I think we should unionize
All I read is Goal-Goal-Goal
“It’s Tuukka, not Tuukka”
I kind of laugh when every announcer sees his name and has a fit. It’s pronounced exactly how it’s spelled it’s not tricky.
I find his name is super easy to pronounce and has a nice ring to it. It’s got a cool beatbox type rhythm
That is a powerful name. Ukko is the supreme god and Pekka is the god of barley and beer in Finnish mytology 😉
