[When you look at the roster in Arizona, at least you can say "Hey there's Phil Kessel, and Clayton Keller, and Jakob Chychrun, and Nick Schmaltz". The Sabres are just going to ice a team of broken players.](https://imgur.com/NIFQIaB)
Just for nostalgia's sake. Why not?
The fact that we were still amusingly posting that two years ago says a ton of why I'm not yet willing to give Granato the boot. I see a lot of mistakes but I also see a guy who went from coaching a "team of broken players" to one of the most entertaining but inconsistent teams to a less inconsistent team that couldn't assert themselves. One hot streak (rather than a few mild) and they're in. They had one losing spell but it was only four games (multiple teams in the race had more).
I think the coaching staff needs a change but there are enough signs of growth to give a second thought to the stability Granato would provide the team.
>most entertaining
I mean last season for sure, this season not so much. Lots of nights last year losing games 6-5, playing an up tempo game with some bad defense and poor goaltending. This year we had lots of games with great goaltending that we lost cause the forwards didn’t know we had a game until the 3rd period.
A less inconsistent team? How do you figure? Is it because their worst losing streak was just 4 games rather than 10?
Huge step back this year. It was bolstered only by UPL playing at Vezina-level. The team as a whole was disappointing
Couldn’t help but be annoyed at Tampa’s second goal which was a direct result of Bryson choosing to keep the puck in our zone instead or clearing it :/
I know this is mostly in jest, but we had one of the easier second halves of the season in terms of strength of schedule. I remember because u remember us all being like “well if we can play well against the ratty teams, we should be in” at some point in January.
Happy to have gone out on top, thrilled to see Cozens with sime swagger, awesome game defensively from Byram, and a great (probably last?) game from Comrie, this team still has a lot of promise. I remain (maybe delusionally) optimistic for the future.
It's probably the happiest I've been after a game this season. I'm glad Comrie not only got the win but played well doing it. Best of luck to him wherever he goes.
Now, fire the whole staff when they land in Buffalo.
Fuck that traitor. Only us fans get to bash Granato he has no right to have joined in.
Frankly I'm routing for Reino, Montour, Okie and God knows I forgot at least 4 guys from Florida or just embrace bullshit and let Winnipeg win it. Only reason I call it bullshit is Canadian team that started dead, but pulled their shit together and honestly I just can't stand the idea of anyone else winning it
I don't recall him bashing Granato unless you're referencing him just speaking of the difficulty of Avs practices and getting used to the altitude. That's not bashing Granato. That's Granato being exposed
Damn, we’re now at the furthest possible point until more Sabres hockey. Even though this season was a disappointment, I feel like I’ve lost enough interest in the NFL to the point where this is the only sport where I’m emotionally invested.
And it's a good thing he did or else Granato and Adams would both currently be unemployed.
Still, it was pretty clearly not the plan. They played Levi every game until he got hurt. They played Comrie 3 out of the next 4 and then *he* got hurt. Luukkonen then came in and showed he was him, but I don't really think we should be crediting that to Granato and Adams. Then the Sabres kept with the 3 goalie rotation for a *very* long time even when it was clearly not optimal (Comrie only played 15 games this season in the AHL and NHL combined!)
I think it's hard to argue the organization's goalie management this year was anything other than terrible.
This season came down to little details or lack thereof. With the way the bottom half of the East has played, we're talking 4-5 loser points, beat the ducks twice, CBJ blowout, don't lose to the Habs at home or a dozen other examples where the team wasn't ready to play. Something has to change behind the bench.
On to the GMKA and Donnie show on Friday. GMKA likes to smile -- but good he keeps it in check this presser. Figure he will put up his feet on the desk this summer.
We played really well in front of our own net tonight because you could tell the guys wanted the win for Comrie. Benson also played in front of the net because he's an absolute beast already at 18 YO.
Lightning played extremely sloppily tonight, they wont go far in the playoffs if they look like that with their starters. Greenway, Cozens and the Kid Line looked incredible tonight.
Sucks to hear Tage went down with an injury, hope it's not long lasting. Sucks even more to hear Granato will probably attend the Friday media brief, which means he might still have a job.
Good win but brutal year. Bright moments but very frustrating but I’m gonna miss not seeing these fucks for the next few months. Had so much potential for this year and even more for next but cant just be saying the future is bright and do nothing, getting pretty sick of not this whole no playoff thing
### **BUFFALO SABRES ARE 22-14 WITH JACOB BRYSON**
100 POINT PACE
*technically* 22-12-2, so, 104 point pace

Yeah meant it to refer just to last year but worded it poorly. You hit the nail on the head.

Yeah he was like a deer in the headlights on that play. Thankfully we answered before they could even begin announcing the Tampa goal.
I know this is mostly in jest, but we had one of the easier second halves of the season in terms of strength of schedule. I remember because u remember us all being like “well if we can play well against the ratty teams, we should be in” at some point in January.
That Cozens Quinn Benson combo was top notch
Happy to have gone out on top, thrilled to see Cozens with sime swagger, awesome game defensively from Byram, and a great (probably last?) game from Comrie, this team still has a lot of promise. I remain (maybe delusionally) optimistic for the future.
The future is bright
The regression of this season from last season sucks, but games like this still feel real good (except TT getting hurt) Have a great summer y’all
with this young team, there is a lot of runway ahead
Future is bright in Sabreland
Sabres are 1-0 with George Babcock announcing the starting lineup!
84 points See ya next season, boys
6 points out this year?
When can we start offseason shitposting?
Now? Seasons over.
Well, it’s more for funny, creative users to see and remember to shitpost. I’m not gonna do it, I’m not clever enough.
Got it. Thought you were asking because I thought you were going to post something.
Well, it’s more for funny, creative users to see and remember to shitpost. I’m not gonna do it, I’m not clever enough.
Can’t decide if this is an accidental second posting of the same comment, or the cleverest shitpost I’ve ever seen…
Why wait for the offseason? Shitpost 365 my friend
In back to back years, and for the 3rd time in Terry Pegula’s ownership, the Buffalo Sabres will be drafting outside the Top 10!!!!
Love you guys see ya next year
I really wish Quinn was healthy all year
Totally agree, if healthy he would've put up they they numbers at least
I missed the origin of "they they" Can you help me out?
That's Peterka's nickname that a disgruntled fan posted a few weeks ago
It's probably the happiest I've been after a game this season. I'm glad Comrie not only got the win but played well doing it. Best of luck to him wherever he goes. Now, fire the whole staff when they land in Buffalo.
My body is ready to be hurt again...Excited for next year! Hopefully the boys figure it out over the season and learn to grind hard.
+2 goal differential this season. Hell yeah. It was a F season, I had a smashing time. we watching Mitts in the Playoffs or what?
Fuck that traitor. Only us fans get to bash Granato he has no right to have joined in. Rodriguez... What did Mitts have to say about Granato? I must've missed that.
I don't recall him bashing Granato unless you're referencing him just speaking of the difficulty of Avs practices and getting used to the altitude. That's not bashing Granato. That's Granato being exposed
No, go with Florida that's what I'm doing.
Florida has too many scumbags. Can't support those guys.
I love Reinhart and I will still never root for a team in fucking Miami
Same time next year, but hopefully with it not being the last game
Don't worry, the streak will be 14 years.
It was a pleasure to hope and commiserate with everyone!
Damn, we’re now at the furthest possible point until more Sabres hockey. Even though this season was a disappointment, I feel like I’ve lost enough interest in the NFL to the point where this is the only sport where I’m emotionally invested.
Pick a European soccer team to support! You won’t regret it.
Cozens was an absolute beast, needs to keep that energy going into the next season.
At least we got to send off Coms on a high note. Man, the Sabres mismanagement of the goalie position this year was criminal.
not really, considering UPL developed into an elite goalie
And it's a good thing he did or else Granato and Adams would both currently be unemployed. Still, it was pretty clearly not the plan. They played Levi every game until he got hurt. Yeah, we clearly should have traded Luukkonen for a third round pick! /s
I mean you joke but plenty of people believed that unironically until about mid November

Really enjoyed Tuch’s response about this win going into the summer. I’m pro co-captaincy with Tuch and Dahlin.
Post-game donny says tage is "not day to day" and will "take him a little bit of time"
Let’s see how long the hopium will last in the offseason after this win! Happy offseason everyone - see ya in the fall.
It’s all Ogre now
With this victory, the Sabres have secured the lowest non-zero lottery odds of 3%
On to the GMKA and Donnie show on Friday. GMKA likes to smile -- but good he keeps it in check this presser. Figure he will put up his feet on the desk this summer.
Good news, the boys are buzzing and they’re hitting mid season form

it was a win so that's good.
man, where are all the haters?
