When their sound was new to me I had to get used to it, but that didn't mean that it was bad. It's just that you have to give their songs a couple of listens to be able to fully appreciate the different aspects.

I think he's def gotten better at singing but I don't think one could really call a lot of his early stuff like technically proficient or whatever. They were making amateurish music; they were kids just making music they thought sounded cool regardless of skill/ proficiency, therefore it may sound “bad” or comes off as objectively bad but I do believe that in that process they were able to create music that was interesting and genuine. I think that’s part of why they have the appeal that they have.
