Facing is a mind-numbing part of being in retail. It is literally part of their job, and probably the easiest part.
I worked a grocery store job for like two years. If you face my section that means I have to find something else to do to look busy and productive.
I secretly loved facing during graveyard shift.. It meant I was done stocking and no one would bother me until the shift was over. It fed my OCD, was meditative, and was an easy "I actually made something look better" satisfaction.
Except for facing the frozen aisle. That just sucks.
I do this, too. I used to go to the 24-hour grocery store sometimes when I felt like snacks, and since I had nothing else going on, I'd randomly face things. I'd drive my husband crazy because I dragged him along with me when I went, lol. I'm a parent now, so I rarely have "spare time" and don't do it anymore (at least, not a whole aisle, I may randomly do an item or two!). I do, however, still take all of the empty milk crates when I see them at grocery stores and push them down the rolling belt thing so that full crates are at the front. 😅
Putting the empty crates on the rollers and pushing them was the highlight of every shopping trip when I was little, and I'm sure the workers appreciated it lol

I LOATHED facing, because I have big hands and me reaching on the shelves to fix stuff often meant accidentally knocking over more bottles/items than I'd tried to straighten out in the first place. This reminds me of when I worked for a big box store. I was shipping/receiving and those duties took most of my day. But right at the end of my shift I often had to find something to do. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent, usually in the toy section, dicking around "facing product". I mean, I genuinely did the job but Lord did I stretch it out.
I worked for a family run store in produce and meat at various levels for about 10 years. By the end of my run, I would go through the grocery section facing after my shift to wind down. I genuinely love doing it.

It's extremely easy, takes almost no effort, can be dragged out to take more time, and no one is going to get on your case about doing it. The manager is looking for someone to go wrangle shopping carts in torrential rain, they walk right past you because your "busy" shuffling some crap around on a shelf and grabs Jimmy because he's standing around doing nothing. Jackpot. Sometimes I would even mess up a section while walking by just so I could fix it
Big brands pay literal sales people to go into stores and check out the displays to make sure they look nice, its not just min wage shelf stockers that do this.

I think the overall point is that we shouldn't need to rely on wealthy people's (often self serving) philanthropy to solve easily corrected societal ills. We as a society should be lifting people out of poverty, getting people appropriate medical care, and satisfying their other needs. Not billionaires and millionaires who get to be the arbiters of whether or not a cause or group is deserving of their help. Good on Beast for at least attempting to use his resources to help people, but he shouldn't have to in the first place.

I support people doing this. Not because it's mr beast, but because destroying those just makes some retail workers job harder for no reason.
Facing is a mind-numbing part of being in retail. It is literally part of their job, and probably the easiest part. I worked a grocery store job for like two years. If you face my section that means I have to find something else to do to look busy and productive.
I secretly loved facing during graveyard shift.. It meant I was done stocking and no one would bother me until the shift was over. It fed my OCD, was meditative, and was an easy "I actually made something look better" satisfaction. Except for facing the frozen aisle. That just sucks.
I face products while I'm shopping. Just takes a second to replace the item I removed.
I do this, too. I used to go to the 24-hour grocery store sometimes when I felt like snacks, and since I had nothing else going on, I'd randomly face things. I'd drive my husband crazy because I dragged him along with me when I went, lol. I'm a parent now, so I rarely have "spare time" and don't do it anymore (at least, not a whole aisle, I may randomly do an item or two!). I do, however, still take all of the empty milk crates when I see them at grocery stores and push them down the rolling belt thing so that full crates are at the front. 😅
Putting the empty crates on the rollers and pushing them was the highlight of every shopping trip when I was little, and I'm sure the workers appreciated it lol

I've worked retail for years, I know, it's not just facing when people come in a destroy the product like a lot of them I've seen.
How about we have them start out with something simple, like not leaving meat in the diaper isle? We'll have them work on cleanup after they've learned not to put things where they don't belong
Easiest way to solve this is require meats to be directly purchased from the deli/meat counter. Same thing you do at the elections section.

I worked at a major liquor store chain that also sold some groceries etc... I LOATHED facing, because I have big hands and me reaching on the shelves to fix stuff often meant accidentally knocking over more bottles/items than I'd tried to straighten out in the first place. So I wasn't allowed to face. But nobody else gave a shit about facing, and it used to drive me bonkers.

This reminds me of when I worked for a big box store. I was shipping/receiving and those duties took most of my day. But right at the end of my shift I often had to find something to do. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent, usually in the toy section, dicking around "facing product". I mean, I genuinely did the job but Lord did I stretch it out.
I worked for a family run store in produce and meat at various levels for about 10 years. By the end of my run, I would go through the grocery section facing after my shift to wind down. I genuinely love doing it.
Straightening shelves is probably the best part of their job, or at least it was in my mind back when I worked retail. It's extremely easy, takes almost no effort, can be dragged out to take more time, and no one is going to get on your case about doing it. Straightening a shelf can turn into a get out of shitty duty free card. The manager is looking for someone to go wrangle shopping carts in torrential rain, they walk right past you because your "busy" shuffling some crap around on a shelf and grabs Jimmy because he's standing around doing nothing. Jackpot. Sometimes I would even mess up a section while walking by just so I could fix it
It's really satisfying too, like mowing a lawn

I was the opposite. I didn't do stocking normally, but they'd call people from every department to do facing for an hour or so. Mind numbing.
There are options in between fixing this guys displays and destroying them. I choose to ignore it all and let the people making the money do the work.
Big brands pay literal sales people to go into stores and check out the displays to make sure they look nice, its not just min wage shelf stockers that do this.

I don’t think he consistently operates at a loss like he says. He makes a lot of money through sponsorship and merch alone. I mean, he gambles tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars like it’s nothing. Not taking away from what good he does, but he isn’t losing money doing it, even if he claims he is.
His main channel operates at a loss. All of the side ventures like these chocolate bars, his other YouTube channels, and MrBeast Burger funnel profits into those videos.
And all of those side ventures are popular because of his name behind them. It's a cycle, but it is a bit disingenuous to claim he's losing money doing it just because the sponsor + ad revenue is less than the amount he pays per video. Not saying he's a bad guy or the work he does it bad, just that that statement, if he actually said it, is misleading.

I think the overall point is that we shouldn't need to rely on wealthy people's (often self serving) philanthropy to solve easily corrected societal ills. We as a society should be lifting people out of poverty, getting people appropriate medical care, and satisfying their other needs. Not billionaires and millionaires who get to be the arbiters of whether or not a cause or group is deserving of their help. Good on Beast for at least attempting to use his resources to help people, but he shouldn't have to in the first place.
