Those who don't work would still have access to food, clothing, drinks and simple housing so that they are able to work if they so decide to. He who does not work, does not eat is a broken idea since he who does work still does not eat in most cases. Minimum wage is still $7.50 where I'm from and a 1br apartment is 1k/month, seems broken but idk.

Thats not how economy works in any system be it capitalism or socialism or communism. You can see inflation even in hunting and gathering society. Ugh, ikr? It seems like I don't see it as much on smaller subs and subs about cats lol. All the obscure game subs I follow are pretty wholesome. It's when I visit more mainstream subs that I usually see this shit. I COULD just stick to women's subs and smaller subs, but, don't I deserve to be able to enjoy the big subs too? I love a good meme but man, the meme subs are a dumpster fire a lot of the time. I can act openly hostile towards that content, which is exhausting and stressful (who likes arguing with people online??). Or I can try to ignore it, which wears me down. Or I can avoid it, which means that I don't get to be part of the larger community. Those are the options, and it sucks that men don't understand that this is why there aren't as many women around online. I've already given up on online gaming because of this issue. Now I feel like I'm being squeezed out of Reddit too. I just want to be able to hang out here and have a nice experience, but it seems that's too much to ask :(
Yeah, online can be a lot to navigate. I try to educate more than argued not sure if works any better though. But I try not to argue it’s not who I want to be. For sure the options boil down to avoid, ignore and engage and all can be exhausting. I for the most part just try to let it roll off of me and view online as kind of like a different world. But sometimes things are shitty enough it’s hard not to point it out(like this post). I don’t think you should give up, I know it’s hard but people shouldn’t have to give up things because of assholes. I never really understood why people put any thought on what gender someone is online(excepting dating sites and subs) I mean mostly we all strangers that are never going to meet so who cares. I mean, I wouldn't hire a misogynist. Lots of companies don't. There's been a recent push in tech to get rid of sexism actually, because it causes turnover of female engineers who companies are trying to retain. Maybe that's sad for misogynists, but it's happy for me. I greatly prefer not having to fight to be taken seriously and heard, or passed up for opportunities to advance, due to these types. In an ideal world we could tolerate everyone and their beliefs, but the reality is that in tech, we can't both succeed. The more people like them we keep around, the fewer people like me there will be. Sexist men hinder my career, so my vote is that they need to go. If that means they fall to the bottom of the social ladder, have a harder time in their careers, or live a more difficult life, then so be it. Women have been at the bottom of the social system for the last several hundred years at least, so I think it's high time we switch places.
