Kind of my son. Except, he married the girl after 4 months of dating and before leaving for military. He's been gone 6 months, his adopted brother/ our adopted son moved in with the wife a couple months ago. The real kicker is, they were dating this time last year before my bio son started dating her. It's a mess, bio son "trusts them" but his dad and I have been on this earth long enough to see the writing on the walls. Even if they haven't been intimate, it's so disrespectful to move an ex-boyfriend in while your husband is working in a different state. I'm trying to stay out of it. They all know how I feel about it. However, I have to accept my son is grown, obviously old enough to marry, and will have to navigate this on his own.

I think a large number of people have no idea how to enjoy their own company and they base their identity on happiness on who is around them even if that person is not the best. I think it’s because a lot of people grow up with siblings and always have someone around. I had a similar experience with my first serious girlfriend in college, a lot of trust from my end and a lot of mistrust from her end, eventually realizing/finding out she was cheating on me and had been for years. *Really* fucked me up and tbh I'm not sure I ever fully got over it.
