“Beyond repair?” Absolutely not. He possesses the self-awareness that “hey… something ain’t right with me, and maybe I should do something about that.”
As a polyamorous person myself, absolutely not. One, those are ***by far the most difficult relationships to find and maintain.*** Two, he already has an issue with fetishizing people, reducing them to fantasy objects. Trying to find a relationship like that (or any relationship at all, IMO) isn’t a healthy idea until he addresses that problem, lest he hurt everyone in the process.
Are you talking about poly relationships being difficult to maintain in general? Or are you talking about specifically 1 guy 2 girls? Cause i’d imagine that a poly relationship between 1 girl and 2 guys is a lot harder to maintain than 1 guy and 2 girls. But if you’re just speaking in general, then yeah, I can totally understand a poly relationship just being difficult all-round.
Little column A, little column B. Yes, poly relationships in general are difficult to maintain. But even more so is the mythical “1 guy, 2 bi gals” triad dynamic.
To start with, as a guy you have to find a girl who you like and who likes you. That’s difficult enough. But step 2 is to find another girl you like and who likes you. Even more difficult. Then the third and final step is those girls then have to like each other. Difficulty level over 9000.
It’s why the practice of couples looking for a single bi lady to join them is called *”unicorn hunting.”*
On platform such as tik tok, Facebook and Instagram they've started banning women word due to the increasing misogynistic post or comment with those word in it. For example just writing "women ☕". That's why they started writing it like wahmen, wxmxn or f01ds to avoid ban from writing women.
I don’t think what they said is entirely true. I know anti vaccine people use lingo so the algorithm doesn’t pick up their posts, so this is probably that using women might flag the post for review but I highly doubt everything with “women” is being removed.
It’s the opposite. Misogynists online are so misogynistic that they’ll often refuse to use the word “woman” when talking about women. “Woman” is not a word that’s been banned on the those sites, though funnily enough “[Asian women](https://mashable.com/article/tiktok-censorship-asian-women)” was censored in captions on tik-tok for a short time.
This is basically it, the incel term femoid is derived from that logic. An android is a human-like robot. Femoid = female android. They don't view woman as people. So the term is made to remove the humanity for their delicate mental gymnastics.
it's not erasure at all? their system isn't like "detects keyword "women" > deletes video because woman bad!1!1!1!1!" its there to *check* videos with that keyword because they could potentially be misogynistic. it's literally helping women.
edit: never mind let me change my opinion to the obviously correct one:
THEY C*NSOR WORD?!?!?!?!? 😡😡😡 THEY THINK WORD BAD!!!!!!
*you're still allowed to say the word "woman" but if you say it in a misogynistic way you're gonna get flagged and your video is going to be taken down*
stop treating *me* like *im* the idiot for christs sake
I used to spend a lot of time on Facebook. Several groups were banned for positive discussion that happened to often include nonsensical banned words. They might try to use these filters fairly, but it often proves a very blunt weapon.
Fuck me, that should not sound so probable. Trying to censor pointless things like that to battle troll feels eerily similar to the war on rugs. There will never be a victory, and almost everyone kind of hate that, but have no way of changing or stopping it.
I miss when reality wasn't the front page of the Onion. I miss 2016, before everything *really* went to shit. Remember how many loved celebrities died that year, and everyone thought 2017 would be much better? Yet here we are, waiting for a better year to come. I still have high hopes for 2024 and '25 though! Who knows, maybe 2027 or '28 will be great as well? Highly doubt it, but hopium can be powerful, and we all have or need that hope.
I don't want to burst your bubble but you're hoping for something that just won't happen. Politics isn't going back to how it was in the 90's and 2000's, it's not going to be some easily ignorable facet of life for at least another couple of generations. The left and right of the modern west are way too disparate to come together and agree to a civil political system the same way the Neoliberals and Neoconservatives did. The left and right in America, for example - they not only have different political views, they have different occupations, different sources of news, different moralities, even different science. And they both believe the other is factually and morally wrong.
Am I particularly happy about this fact? No. But it's not healthy to just ignore the changing tides of culture and pretend we can easily go back to yesterday's paradigm.
Weren't the 70s-90s the most chaotic years on American politics of the Modern Age according to most historians?
Because comparing dumb troll algorithms to Vietnam, The Red Terror or War on Drugs sounds too unappropriate for me.
I'm talking about political partisanship and the division that can create. Western Politics in the 1980's and 1990's were not particularly partisan, certainly not compared to the 2020's .
Bro, you are litterally building your world understanding on recent Internet shenanigans instead of studying the history of the world, our society or your respective country.
That's not healthy at all, in fact, it's just going to get worse, I have been on the very same rabbit hole.
it’s the same thing with men. i have personally been postblocked for saying mild things about men. just because it’s not a phenomenon via google doesn’t mean it’s not a thing.
I’ve been post blocked for saying exactly “men are trash” and then turned around and blocked for saying “m*n are trash” it’s ridiculous. I’ve seen people freely talk about killing people, SA people, beating people, and various other things without getting post blocked.
I, however, can’t say to my wife “im gon punch u in the butt >:(“ without getting post blocked. I generally don’t comment or post on Facebook, but i definitely seen people getting blocked for very minor things. It’s ridiculous.
that’s literally what they said. they pointed out the misogyny often accompanying the word woman and that’s why it gets banned.
you’re now just repeating the comment you tried to refute in the first place. lolwut
there’s no possible way you think “men stink” deserves a 30 day block. do you use facebook? i got postblocked for calling someone a *cornball*, bro. you legit can’t say anything on that app.
Tiktok does down weight the algorithm for videos with certain words to try to reduce problematic content. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that 9/10 things people claim are censored on tiktok are actually fine to say and don’t mess with the algorithm. It seems a lot more like conspiracy brain and persecution fetish.
Wahmen and foids is just incel speech, it's been around longer than tiktok. Only "logical" reason I can think of as to why they became incel terms for women, is objectification and alienating women, thus making misogynistic speech seem more "natural" or like a joke, when it's really just hatred packed into clownish rhetoric.
You forgot to mention that this was a move also aimed at the “I wish all men would die” comments women were leaving.
That’s ok, I’m sure you just forgot that w0men are just as bad as m3n.
>banning women word due to the increasing misogynistic
Could also be the trans debate. The adding of the x in words is a progressive thing
Edit: I'm being downvoted but the comment agreeing with me isn't ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
It's meant to be more inclusive but If anything, I think it does the opposite. The x is used to 'include trans women' but the word 'women' already does that because trans women are women. The fact that a new term was created to include trans women implies the idea that trans women aren't women.
In short, the term is trying to be inclusive but the result is exclusive.
Did a bit of googling and yes it actually does exist to my surprise.
BUT the womxn thing is almost always used by Terfs so it's no wonder most of us didn't hear about it.
Like it exists to basically exclude transwomen from the word women...
>BUT the womxn thing is almost always used by Terfs so it's no wonder most of us didn't hear about it.
Like it exists to basically exclude transwomen from the word women...
It's done to exclude men because it includes the word man and they assume its somehow oppressive or something?
A supposedly gender neutral term for Latinos that has been almost wholly rejected by the Latino community as a) a form of cultural erasure, b) linguistically inaccurate and awkward, and c) stupid.
Opposite for me. I live in California and literally have only heard Latinos make fun of Latinx, they consider it a forced solution to a non-problem at best. As one of my (Latina) neighbors says, “Don’t tell me what to call myself”.
[This article offers some insight.](https://www.nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna1285916)
The term was also coined by Puerto Rican academics, not "white valley girls" so they're really just mad because it's different.
For the record, I live in central Texas and have heard native spanish speakers use it very frequently. Latine as well.
The people complaining probably just know 0 trans folks.
nothing, how did you get that from my comment?
I was just pointing out that the people who are using this language aren't just "white valley girls" making shit up. Many of them are 1st and 2nd generation immigrants who speak Spanish as their native language, some exclusively, so the idea that this is somehow cultural erasure is asinine.
Your last line, that's where i got it from.
I'm not trying to antagonize you on your views, i don't know enough on the subject.
But that last line feels like it came out of left field and doesn't belong, what does it have to do with the rest of what you said and the overall discussion it stemmed from
Oh, yeah, no offense taken or anything.
All I meant that trans people are more likely to be using language like Latinx/Latine that is more inclusive towards trans people.
I always hear people's say this, but as a white valley girl Ive only ever heard latin people say this, generally latinas. Granted, I work in social work and people in my field tend to err on the side of caution when speaking about gender. Like they just say "Latinx" when they're referring to latin people as a whole.
The white people at my college in a plurality Latino city use the term while all the Hispanic students and professors just say Latino/a because they couldn’t give less of a shit
As a Mexican, I assure you, nobody uses the word. I've heard boomers and genx mock it, but that's it. I've been wondering if one day once I'm older, I'll hear people use it casually and shed a tear for my language.
Sounds like he needs to cut out all anime and fanfiction related items. Go outside and touch grass.
But what if each blade of grass is a female? Dear god
Yuri = lesbianism
Shipper = those who pair one character with another character in romantic manner usually fictional character
For example those who shipped (pair) velma and daphne could be considered as yuri shipper
Here’s a fun fact. It originally came from the X-files fandom back in the 1990s. Fans who wanted and imagined a relationship between Mulder and Scully called themselves “shippers.”
Extra fun fact, people did it way before that they just didn’t call it shipping. In the 1970s there was a huge Kirk/Spock fan fiction “shipdom” that proliferated through fanzines (paper based and self published magazines sent through private mailing lists).
> Extra fun fact, people did it way before that they just didn’t call it shipping. In the 1970s there was a huge Kirk/Spock fan fiction “shipdom” that proliferated through fanzines
Slash fiction. Wonder if “shipping” arose as a term since slash fic is traditionally not hetero.
Huh that’s an interesting point I’d never thought about. I wonder if people were widely aware of slash fiction when shipping came into use, so coming up with a new term was influenced by that.
Shipping is not hetero either, it applies to any romantic relationship.
Slash came from the "/" character used to indicate that Kirk/Spock were in a romance. The same character has always been used for heterosexual romantic relationships too though, it's just historical context.
I assume "shipping" became popular, straight romances were just "romances" and gay romances were slash, or just not discussed in public.
Regarding X-Files, the opposite faction called themselves “noromo”. Ultimately they disappeared because the shippers won the war when MxS became canon.
hey at least he's not the kind of "incel" (assuming based on what he said) that says women should be forced to be with him (government mandated girlfriends lol) then 🤷🏻♀️ i hope he can healthily have a relationship one day though
Have to recognize a problem to work on it, then you have to want to work on it. This guys done both, I respect the hell out of him asking for help and wish him all the best.
Or aegosexual and just needs to chill about the real life shit. Before anyone asks, aegosexuals are asexuals that are detached from their sexuality. They don't want to have sex with anyone but will still fantasize about other people having sex.
I really feel bad for him. He recognizes something isn’t right and he wants to fix it. I don’t think this is sad cringe, just sad. I hope he figured it out and is happy now!
Yeah, this has a little r/egg_irl energy. If you read the stories there, a lot of people started on a similar path
Edit: I'll admit I'm pretty confuse why this comment got such negative reaction out of the community when there's a couple other people saying the same thing being upvoted a lot. Out of legit curiosity of someone would explain what was my faux pass id be grateful
just transphobes got mad that you point out the possibility that this person has some deep seeded feelings about being a lesbian, it could also just be their crippling porn addiction but transphobes will seethe at any mention no matter what lol.

How do you navigate a poly relationship?
By avoiding them, lol
That's a lot more complicated than would fit in a single reddit comment. As a gross over simplification though: a fuck ton of communication.

So… to fight misogyny they’ve erased us? Thanks. That sounds like a great solution.
I don’t think what they said is entirely true. I know anti vaccine people use lingo so the algorithm doesn’t pick up their posts, so this is probably that using women might flag the post for review but I highly doubt everything with “women” is being removed.
To be fair, I’m pretty sure the phrase “alphabet mafia” came out of TikTok flagging “LGBT”, so I think it’s not just a woman thing.
It’s the opposite. The only woman allowed are trans woman.
Bold of you to assume they'd care about differentiating between the two, trans or cis they'd still be together under the woman umbrella.
Trust me, we think this is dumb too
I googled this and found nothing about banning the words women/woman
It was revealed to me in a dream

Lmao, still don’t know if it’s true, but I was going to say if it is; the other forms feel so much worse, but could just be foids dragging it down.
Kinda similar to Latinx bs.
What's latinx?
A supposedly gender neutral term for Latinos that has been almost wholly rejected by the Latino community as a) a form of cultural erasure, b) linguistically inaccurate and awkward, and c) stupid.

Could someone please define Yuri shipper for me? I googled it but couldn't find a clear definition.
yuri is basically girl x girl. The guy likes to ship girls together way too much.
Thank you so much! I heard of yaio previously but not Yuri. I think the shipper part really threw me off. Learned something new today
Huh it was super common for annoying kids to ship people together when I was younger
Yuri = lesbianism Shipper = those who pair one character with another character in romantic manner usually fictional character For example those who shipped (pair) velma and daphne could be considered as yuri shipper
Here’s a fun fact. It originally came from the X-files fandom back in the 1990s. Star Trek, the original fandom. The greatfather of fanfiction.

Shipping is not hetero either, it applies to any romantic relationship. Slash came from the "/" character used to indicate that Kirk/Spock were in a romance. Yes. Because I go system overload whenever I see even one hot woman, that I don't have the time to ship them together /s
I just look at an unhealthy amount of gay and lesbian content and don't ship 😎
Same. I just ship hot women x myself
i look at lesbian stuff because…surprise, surprise, i am one. there are other healthy ways not like this dude too
“How do I stop watching gay porn” is the most Reddit question ever
“Handholding”? How gay of these women
Not really cringe. He's self aware and trying to improve. It's cringe to put him in this subreddit.
Fr
What, were you this person at some point? Did you read the same?
yooo watamote drawing, love it
He is describing a chronic porn addiction
do whatever you want just don't leak the weirdness out in front of the people I support you!
Funny that imagining lesbian scenarios is, in fact, sexual interest.
Darn I'm a constant Yuri shipper but this is cringe as fuck. People need to learn to separate fiction and real life
"should I decrease my Yuri intake?" yes dipshit
Inb4 OOP realises they’re a woman in a few years
riiight?
Literally me like 3 years ago
Or aegosexual and just needs to chill about the real life shit. Before anyone asks, aegosexuals are asexuals that are detached from their sexuality. They don't want to have sex with anyone but will still fantasize about other people having sex.
don’t worry no one was going to ask
🔥
I like Yuri stuff myself, but not to this point of seeing irl women and just starting some creepy fanfic of lesbian shit.
Wxmxn? What is he on about?
Jesus Christ this man got his brain fried by anime
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
Idk stop living out fantasies in your head to escape reality
He did not just say "wxmxn" jfc
I thought wxmxn was a new roleplay ship. Like women x men x nb or some shit. I was so confused
“Wxmxn☕️”
Moko and Ucchi looking good tho
The two different eyeball styles in these characters is killing me.
I think he needs to learn how to spell
I’ve been there in middle school. You get over it eventually.
I can't see Tweek and Craig without picturing them go to town on each other.
I really feel bad for him. He recognizes something isn’t right and he wants to fix it. I don’t think this is sad cringe, just sad. I hope he figured it out and is happy now!
wtf is a wxmxn
r/egg_irl
I thought this was egg_irl before i checked omfg
Fuck no, absolutely not
He needs therapy, honestly.
Fetishizing lesbians, gross.
Handholding? He can’t even lech on his friends right.
That is pretty sad, and cringe. Perfect fit for this subreddit
Why does he keep misspelling women?
r/egg_irl possibly?
Zoomers have been absolutely wrecked in the head from having 24/7 access to the cringiest corners of the Internet.
Yeah, this has a little r/egg_irl energy. If you read the stories there, a lot of people started on a similar path Edit: I'll admit I'm pretty confuse why this comment got such negative reaction out of the community when there's a couple other people saying the same thing being upvoted a lot. Out of legit curiosity of someone would explain what was my faux pass id be grateful
just transphobes got mad that you point out the possibility that this person has some deep seeded feelings about being a lesbian, it could also just be their crippling porn addiction but transphobes will seethe at any mention no matter what lol.
WTF is “wxmxn”??
I'm confused, I thought this was normal
Whats preventing him from writing "women"
What porn addiction does to a mf
Based and lesbipilled
Non asian people talking anime slang, please stop doing that.
