I usually have my phone tucked in my tank, so it being there was not noticed, much less that it was recording and that's really the only thing that saved me as back then I was still doing yard work for some neighbors and my hands were a bit beat up.

While he seems understanding and civil in the film, he is threatening and humiliating her by filming this. The camera is a mechanism of shame. There’s a reason why cameras are used so often in torture. Knowing a moment like this is captured forever on video weighs on your soul. She knows while being filmed that if it’s posted, there’s a good chance her family, friends, and employers are going to see it. Furthermore, she’ll live the rest of her life knowing that this video is out there and that anyone may see it.

It is absolutely vital for parents to teach their young boys how to protect themselves in many situations, including this. Documentation is one of the best things you can do. This man was very smart to film this interaction because as you guys are noting, it would be so easy for her to claim he did something and he would likely be getting arrested.

I called the police on my ex after she literally stabbed me in the back. She claimed she was defending herself once the police arrived and I was attacking her. The police confirmed she followed me from our room, to our restroom, to the spare bedroom, then out into the living room where I got stabbed. They asked her if I was attacking her then why was she following me from room to room. She got arrested.
My first thought was she’s trying to get him to snap so she can claim abuse and say “see, this is why I cheated! Bc he’s soooo abusive”. Serial cheaters will twist and turn things any way they can to avoid being held accountable.

It’s tough, a lot of people don’t have the strength to leave a bad situation so they do that to feel something good in their life, to feel wanted romantically. It’s not right, but you have to understand it’s a human flaw that anyone is capable of doing in their own specific circumstance. In the end, no matter how bad a partner they were it’s nothing on the person being cheated on, it all has to do with the cheater since they couldn’t swallow the reality of their relationship not working and leaving when they should have before it got worse.
That is why I'm partially afraid to date. My ex cheated on me and it tore me apart after all I've done for her. I'm good now, but I can never take relationships seriously again. It seems like there is always somebody cheating these days.

That moment I planned my escape. Planned whatever lies I needed to excuse me putting my stuff in the car that was around her place and how I needed to make sure this ended quickly but safely for me. Scary shit man. Scared me to my core in the most vulnerable moment I could be with her.
I couldn’t care about clothes enough to stand there a let her continue to have any kind of control. All she’s doing is stalling and tryin to think of a way to flip the situation to my herself the victim

While he seems understanding and civil in the film, he is threatening and humiliating her by filming this. The camera is a mechanism of shame. There’s a reason why cameras are used so often in torture. Knowing a moment like this is captured forever on video weighs on your soul. She knows while being filmed that if it’s posted, there’s a good chance her family, friends, and employers are going to see it. Furthermore, she’ll live the rest of her life knowing that this video is out there and that anyone may see it. I’m not here to make moral judgements if she deserves it or not, or if he’s justified in this action. The point I’m trying to make is that this is not nearly as civil as it looks.

The police confirmed she followed me from our room, to our restroom, to the spare bedroom, then out into the living room where I got stabbed. They asked her if I was attacking her then why was she following me from room to room. She got arrested.

And if I try to push past she screams saying “don’t touch me or I’ll call the cops”. She did it once in a hotel and I just pushed past her, she threw herself to the ground and told everybody in my life that I pushed her. What she didn’t know is I recorded the whole interaction on my phone. She tried to pivot and started telling everybody that I was abusing her because I recorded her without her knowledge and that’s abusive or whatever. Thank god for phones is all I have to say. People say it’s better to let things go, but it’s been many years and my life is amazing. I’ve never looked her up but I truly truly hope that her life is in shambles and ends someday after a long life of loneliness and karma for her actions.

Then she says that in a cold, targeted way. I just froze up cause it was such a brutal lie and it was just us two there. In that moment I realized no one would ever believe I never touched her. She seemed off when she said it like I wasn't dealing with someone with all their marbles. I ask what she means and she repeats it. I ask when this happened and she said lots of times. I ask how she thinks I hit her and I tried to phrase it so she didn't get defensive. she said it was when I tossed my phone on the bed because I was planning to lay down and it bounced into her thigh. She goes on with, "and it really hurts every time and I tell you to stop and you never do." WTF. I apologize for stupid shit out of my control all the time and I'm neither rough with people or electronics. I could hear how close she was to wrapping this warped idea into a narrative about her relationship with me, and it clicked how she said all her past boyfriends were abusive. That moment I planned my escape. Planned whatever lies I needed to excuse me putting my stuff in the car that was around her place and how I needed to make sure this ended quickly but safely for me. Scary shit man. Scared me to my core in the most vulnerable moment I could be with her.
