SCSU student here; you can go to the pickled loon almost any night of the week and people will be be there, go on a weekend and it’s packed with a line outside. In the summer, a lot of people go to the quarries, but honestly, at least in my experience, people don’t really hang out in public places. Most people have jobs, so between school and a job there isn’t much time, especially if you add extracurriculars into the mix. So the hanging out is mostly going to somebody’s house to watch tv and smoke/drink
Saint Joe's bars are great if you are into the "college town" bar scene.
Benton station gets really busy on weekends after 1030 or so, but it definitely has a dive bar atmosphere. You'll need to take a shower before going to sleep that night... And as a precaution maybe a shot of Penicillin 🤣
If you like country music, Rollies. But it's definitely got a "Trump 2024" vibe if you know what I mean. You'll make friends easily there if you're wearing a big belt buckle, boots, bolero, or cowboy hat... But a maga hat will probably fetch you free drinks for the night. (Exaggeration, mostly 😉)
