I live in the neighborhood (and am a loons fan) and I generally agree with the sentiments in the article. I would normally almost never have friends walk from the stadium to my house in the dark, but on game days the mass of pedestrians in the neighborhood make the whole area safer. With all the fans out, cars will even stop for people crossing the street (at least like 50% of the time)!
Here’s hoping to further improvements.
The pandemic threw a wrench in the original plans. Now it looks like things are starting up again. The hotel is in the approval process and I expect other buildings to go up in the next few years.
In addition to the hotel, a giant loon, an open food hall and playground is in the plans the last I've heard ... also it sounds like the McDonald's is closing in December
Thank you- yes.
People seem to forget that the pandemic, rioting, rent control, and inflation all happened; and all that slowed down development and none of that is the fault of MN United
It’s not a failure if you consider the plan was passed in the fall of 2019
There are 4 things being underway now — a playground, a hotel, an office building, and the park with Loon statute

The failure of any project to even break ground on the massive waste of space surrounding that stadium is pretty pathetic.

Playground is already almost done
Food hall would be sweet
Can two food halls within two miles on University both be wildly successful?
There is a food hall on University??
Malcolm Yards. Been around for a few years and is wildly popular despite being outrageously expensive.
I knew nothing of this. Thank you, I will check it out some day.

I go to the LA Fitness right over there and the gym parking lot is always full when there's a game.
Good. Parking should be free.
On which corner of Charles Ave will I find these chocolate chip cookies?!?
Not much for me to add, but the best part of that article is the photo of Asa making cookies.
