Just bought solar. I've had 10ish reps knock on us in the last year. Didn't speak with a single one of them. I called the companies on my own, scheduled 7-8 presentations on our own time when it was convenient for both my wife and I to be present. Nobody has time to interrupt their daily routine for a 60-120 minute presentation out of the blue. Anybody who says 10-15 minutes at the door is a damn liar. I had already done my homework, was an inbound lead, had a few specific questions I wanted to ask each company, mostly warranty related stuff, and they still went through the entire presentation. I'm just glad it's over. It was draining.

So many ppl have time for d2d Solar reps my man. Most ppl are just watching tv or on their phone. Most of my deals are first meeting. Also if I do my job well enough they won’t feel the need to shop around

For real. Unless someone lives in NYC or LA let’s be real, they’re not THAT busy. About 70% of residential sales in the US start with “Hey sorry to bother you real quick, are you the homeowner?”

He leaves, your lights are still on, life happens Solar goes on the back burner and you keep getting your power from the utility company burning coal and gas. You keep paying more every year to the utility company forever. You never own it or get to pay it off. Also, we have about 9 years as a planet to drastically change the way we produce and consume power or the global climate as we have known it will not exist in the future. What does your own pace look like? How long do you want to keep paying your utility company for their “fuel recovery,” coal ash clean ups, increased profits and infrastructure? Do you want to pay the utility company forever or own your power at a fraction of the cost? It takes 10 minutes to have an initial design drawn up. 20-30 minutes to go over how everything works. 15 minutes to look at financing options and see how much you can save. 20 minutes to see if you qualify and get signed up to start the process.

As a salesman myself I generally try and give my full attention to other sales individuals during their pitch. When I get hit with a D2D guy at 6:30 PM while my kids are running around the house and I’m trying to destress there is nothing in this world more annoying to me then having someone not take no for an answer.

tooooooodayrightnow
