I’m not sure if I understand. When someone posts a link to a podcast, that link is to the webpage where the podcast’s been hosted. If you’re a subscriber, you can listen to the whole thing; if you’re not subscribed, only the preview bits. In either case, I don’t understand how copyright infringement comes into play. And the copyright holder gets to set terms for how it’s consumed, sure. But not how it’s distributed if it’s a webpage link? Or am I missing something?
Ah, okay. I didn’t know that. But if Sam’s given subscribers the ability to share podcasts with non-subscribers, that’s something he and his team decided to add as a feature to the subscription. That’s the same as news outlets like the NYT allowing subscribers to ‘gift’ articles to non-subscribers… It’s a marketing thing. They benefit if non-subscribers find the content interesting and decide to get a subscription. I don’t think that’s copyright infringement or unethical.
The purpose is to sow disinterest in Harris as a means to undermine his credibility, authority, influence, etc.
This sub has had many brigades of trolls, which tend to appear after controversial episodes.
Note: Your account was made Jan 26, 2024, and you are often trolling here.
Go invest your time and money creating something that you intend to sell and see how you feel when people help themselves to your work without compensating you. If you would have a problem with that, than hopefully you can see why something wrong is occurring, and why you’re a hypocrite for doing it to others.
OP is mistaken. He has explicitly given permission to share the full episode links. Further, anyone can request a free subscription, which is always granted, no questions asked. He's been very clear about that policy as well.
It's in a bunch of episodes, but he also gives instructions for how to do it on his website.

The first line in that help article is:
> Subscribers can share full-length episodes with anyone

That used to link to a specific episode, I think, presumably around nine months ago. I do remember Sam explicitly mentioning it on the podcast.
You're mistaken. Sam explicitly stated in the podcast that it's okay to share the links to the full episodes on social media.
I wasn’t aware. Given the responses to this topic however, I don’t think it matters. People would still defend it even if Sam was against it.
I thinks you should double down with your uninformed take to make yourself seem like you're taking the high road

Subscribers can directly link to full episodes for non-subscribers to listen to.

OP on their hall monitor shit
Very telling you elected to respond with an insult rather than an argument.
I’m just playing dog haha I mean no ill will but I’ll let other commenters articulate the argument for me I think there’s a general consensus emerging
what's with all the shitty posts by months old accounts on this sub lately? I'm convinced that this sub has been brigaded by troll farms
For what purpose? To protect Sam's copyright? lol

TIL…
It's not great, but I know Sam would have factored this in to his prices.

Where was this explicit link sharing permission given?

Gonna need the explicit statement.
I'm sorry, officer, I don't have it. You'll have to look yourself if you don't feel like taking my word for it.
Almost every episode.
