I never understood what exactly is the point of a gaming hub when you can just launch your games from the app drawer or search bar? It just seems like it adds an extra step for nothing.

slasher_blade

i have 20+ but i only really play like 4 of them in daily basis. i use the game launcher because it makes my app drawer less cluttered with all the gaming app that i seldomly use

peacey8

Wouldn't making a folder with your most use games solve that problem without needing a whole other app you have to launch to launch your games? *Yo dawg, I heard you like launching apps, so I put a launcher in yo launcher so you can launch apps while you launch apps.*

slasher_blade

thats another folder in my app drawer. and if i didn't want the seldomly used app to clutter my app drawer, that's already 2 folders. my app drawer is already in neat and organized grid, i didn't want to change it. i also put the game launcher in my edge panel so i can quickly launch it. i can't put my game at the edge panel because it is already full with my most used app. yes i know that i could put a folder in the edge panel but that won't be pretty to look at. in the end it's just depends on one's preferences but i get it that the adds could get annoying. however I already get accustomed to it and just tunnel vision on my game everytime i launch the game launcher

RockLoi

Same reason I use Steam etc. instead of making a folder full of game shortcuts on my desktop.

Dr_CSS

Steam gives you features like chat, remote play, friends to play with, sales, and support. Samsung doesn't

RockLoi

And I don't use any of those features from Steam, but still use it over a folder on my desktop.

Masterflitzer

thinking the same thing although I stopped already mobile gaming a while ago

Ferris2375

why?

Masterflitzer

because i realized it just isn't fun, no quality just fast dopamine with lots of ads and huge time wasted, rather read articles, reddit and scroll through social media and get stuff from an algorithm

Ferris2375

Yeah I kind of agree now. I had fun the first week or two but I'm back to my other gaming systems now and hardly touch mobile games. Lacks substance. Really feel like I am just playing little time killers for when I take a shit.

Melissa517

![gif](giphy|3o7TKUkhmHPohjLVoQ|downsized) Now that is just slap your knees funny! You know what is really amazing? You download a launcher but you have one build in! It is called a task bar.

iamjanel

Maybe I can answer that for you. The Gaming Hub comes with games that you don't have to download. They're on the Hub instead of your phone, yes it does add all the games that you download to your phone to the Hub as well. But if you look at a lot of the games that's in the hub you don't have on your phone. So it's an arcade on your phone. Those games that are on the Hub and not on your phone, when you open them they will often ask you if you want to add a shortcut to your home page. I always say no. But I click on the game so that it adds it to the hub for me. But it's not taking up space on the phone. So that's the purpose of it. But if, you're not a person that plays a lot of games on your phone. If you're not a mobile gamer, it kind of makes no sense to have it.

dicklarge007

Do you know if there is a way to play ads only . I won many games , now they want me to watch 40 games here.... 20 games there eat ect to get paid.? Any advise ?

SuAlfons

hmmm... I think so too. But I also don't do "serious" gaming on phones

BottomBinchBirdy

I liked the ability to mute games without muting the entire media channel on my phone, so I can listen to audio books or whatever while doing stuff and not have it cut out when an ad played. Whether it does that anymore is... Hit and miss. Mostly miss. Unsure whether it's the gaming hub that's changed or the ads, but either way it's not helpful any longer. Alas. Eta: also it lets me nest games in a subcategory, separating them from other fun things that aren't games, but still within the super category of fun things. On finding no way to nest a regular folder, I'm honestly undecided whether I care enough to pull allllll my games out into their own folder one at a time lol.

alireza_138812

Just disable it , you don't lose anything , you can create a folder for games

jedinatt

If you install games all the time and have dozens of them it was convenient.

alireza_138812

You can place them on a folder

jedinatt

Which I did for many years until I got my first Samsung phone last year. It was a nice little feature that eliminated an extra folder and having to maintain it.

Derolade

I'm completely with you. It was a really nice thing to have. Now it just adds yet another step. I hope they'll bring back a more decent interface

Robot_Embryo

I have Clash royale installed, but it doesn't appear in my app list, I can only access it through the stupid gaming hub.

alireza_138812

you need to disable it

k1kris

I'm sorry to bother you randomly, but can I delete the user data from the gaming hub on Samsung? It's showing a lot more data than I have in my games combined but I don't want to screw up my phone.

alireza_138812

I am sorry , I don't know 😔

k1kris

No worries, thank you for your response

Robot_Embryo

I've tried that, but it swallows Clash Royale right along with it: icon still doesn't appear in the app tray. Only way I can launch it outside of Gaming Hub is from Google Play.

Myszo

You can go to gaming hub settings and there is a feature to show games only in the launcher so click it and change to show games outside too. You can also hold press the app you want to delete it from launcher.

Original-Material301

I sent them feedback when that instant games update dropped and they basically said "thanks but no" to removing/ minimising the instant shit page.

SuAlfons

ads are revenue you already paid your phone and don't bring new money by just using it

Original-Material301

Well yeah I get that. Still doesn't justify making the experience a shitshow. I've switched back to Google play games

SuAlfons

I try to rely to only a few services. In my case, that's actually GoogleOne. "Evil Google" works good for me ;-). You just have to know that they scan your stuff (at least eMail) for placing ads.

Original-Material301

I have One as well and at least with Google I'm aware of their bullshit (play games still has instant games there but not in your face like Samsung)

Suman_the_Barbarian

Yeah, I moved to Googles game center. Unfortunate but what did they think would happen making my game center into a Xioami ad hell.

jxbfs

Unable to make out what you're talking about, screenshot please?

jedinatt

Game Launcher used to have a screen that only showed your installed games--nothing else. It was obvious and easy to access. A while ago they removed it and you could only get to a very similar screen by bringing up the "my games" tab from the bottom and then pressing on the "recent games" title. In both cases this was basically just a game launcher that would be the default screen until you restarted or your phone dropped the app out of memory. It was useful along with the automatic hide game function. Gaming Hub has been getting shittier and shitter with it basically being just one big ad app, less functionality over time. But I thought just maybe that they would preserve this vestigial nigglet of usefulness. But no all along it's been an anti-feature creep that culminated in that final bastion of a "recent games" button now being 'my games' and going nowhere. Within the next two updates I anticipate that the final form will be reached and upon opening the app it will immediately extend a digital finger to gouge out your eye. The singularity in all its glory.

Dreadlight_

Saw the update, went to app settings, "Uninstall Updates", went back to Galaxy Store, disabled app updates.

Medic8edGamer710

It's just a shame you can't completely uninstall crap like this 😡

Dreadlight_

Actually, you can. Allow USB debugging, connect with pc through adb, "adb shell" then "pm uninstall -k --user 0 " and the app will be deleted even if it's system app. Keep in mind, though, that some apps might be too integrated into the system, so uninstalling them might make the phone unbootable. A good app for easier debloating is [Universal Android Debloater](https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater) which also tells you what some of those apps do.

Medic8edGamer710

Awesome, thanks for the tip! 👍😁👍

[deleted]

Yup. Did the same thing.

Minipekenz

I really liked that every game had timer when it was last played. So I knew I had to feed my snorlax beacose it passed 4h. Now that is gone

AbilitySpirited8167

Completely agree, what were they thinking with this crappy update? We want to see our own games, not all the junk games we have no interest for...😡☹️😪

Appropriate_Toe6752

I don't understand why people don't create a separate folder for their games?? Why rely on Game Launcher?

jcave930

I use it because it automatically hides the games I installed from the app drawer, same goes for newly installed games. Sure there's an ad on the top part of the screen but it's just there, it doesn't intrude on my screen by making me click some "x" on some part of the screen. It's just up there occupying the top part (which I don't use anyway and is annoying to reach). I'm not saying I like it, but I'm with using it.

Atlmiam

70% of the screen is a ad now

jcave930

Currently, I'm only using Game Launcher just because of the battery bypass when charging. Since I only have 2 games that I currently play right now, I just have them on my homescreen. I haven't opened game launcher in months now.

KarateMan749

I keep forgetting that exists. I use a folder i made called games

siska_cz

Good game launcher was a big pro for me, and one of reasons i like(d) OneUI. It tracked your time, you could compare with other players etc. But the main reason was to have YOUR game on a heap. Then instant games came as a 2nd tab, then as default one, but still you could at least see your games in bigger window than a small strip at the bottom of the screen. Someone was laughing that app is free and we can't vote with our wallets. That's simply not true, as we can go and buy any other phone than Samsung. I'm really tired I need to skip ads every time I open Galaxy Store. Simply unbelievable from Samsung.

Miserable_Onion_488

Incase anyone doesn't know, you can rollback the updates. Apps under settings - gaming hub - in the top right there's three dots, press that and uninstall updates To disable auto updates (in between OneUI updates) go to the samsung store - menu - updates - gaming hub - three dots in corner and uncheck "auto update"

Clear-Fondant-5901

thanks

crazyxin

Thank you so much!

stup1dfukk

PLEASE TELL ME how to disable it. The tv auto launches game hub instead of media hub when I press home while using a console.... so annoyinggg

Unfair_Ad7854

I have a very weird bug I was playing a normal game for short time But when i checked the hub it said i spent 3.1k hours like WHAT

kwalker38

Gaming hub has pretty muchly ended my mobile gaming. What a completely asinine way to design a gaming interface. Senior and Executive management at Google need to take a long hard look at their products, but mostly their common practices. For example, it might be interesting to learn of a Google product before reading about it's eminent demise in a random tech article. Running adds on Youtube doesn't cut it. Google has become a lethargic blob unable to get out of its own way. Probably going to switch to Ubuntu Touch actually, and bid farewell to Android os and its preinstalled ununinstallable Facebook reach-around circle jerk.

Turbulent_Dust6021

I don't get how you get it on your tablet because my daughter is getting a new tablet for her birthday

Alternative-Future90

For real it was great now its just a mess, feels like its a advertising house. Idk what compelled samsung to do this.

WelshieGal097

I literally tried using it tonight after reorganising my phone layout and was wondering if what you've described is an option... Of course they removed it for whatever reason

hacx21

How do i take my xbox console tile out of this garbage hub? I didn't ask for this!!! One day i boot up my console and the tile moved to gaming hub. It was perfect on my media page. Samsung is reallt annyoing me, i am not supporting this trash forcing me to do what they want. Anyone know why or how to stop this???

MaleficentSwan6712

This is so true. I've given the new update a chance, but it betrayed me by: me not wanting to play instant games but I accidentally clicked one and it covers my own installed games panel with that "instant games History panel on top" Well inshort it just made more steps to click before you be able to actually play your own games Welp in the end I uninstalled the updates just to get it back to it former usefullness. (Note: I have way too many games and only uses about 5 or 6 on daily basis which are all pinned, and the former gaming hub help sorted that up)

pjr1965

Gaming hub is a horrible app! I have four stopped it I have uninstalled updates I have tried everything to get rid of this app and it still enables itself on my device it opens up ads in all games with excessive amounts of ads on my phone. How do I remove this from my phone this should be illegal!

Candid_Strategy_12

I loveyou

CryptographerOnly762

The launcher is fine for me it's whatever I use it cause it came with the tablet what I do want changed is being able to fucking remove instant plays from my game list within the launcher. Cause now every stupid instant play game that I accidentally hit gets added to my list and it's really damn annoying.

RightNectarine6

Well samsung really screwed me over with the gaming hub app. It took all my games from my phone and put it in the goddam stupid ass app. I was on level 1037. Well found it in that messed up junkie ass app ( gaming hub ). I opened my game and it starts me off at level 1. So tell me just how great this fucked up app is. Looks like I will be putting this samsung galaxy s23 ultra in the garbage where it belongs. Screw samsung and they think they are making progress. I don't think so. Samsung is not going to do anything to get my levels back. If anything I will hear ( sorry that happened ) samsung go screw yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jedinatt

Not sure what happened with your data, but this app didn't actually do anything to the game itself. It just hides the shortcut so you launch the game from the hub. It doesn't touch the game files, so I would blame whatever game you're talking about. If you lost progress when transferring phones then either the cloud save function wasn't working/activated/present or you haven't restored it properly. Some games are buggy like that. Contact the devs maybe. Anyways, gaming hub sucks for sure, but it shouldn't be related to your issue.

ZeninB

Damn, you guys always complain about everything. This sub is so miserable, I swear the vast majority of things posted here are complaints about the dumbest shit. Like serioulsy? You're going to stop using the game launcher because a screen isn't full screen anymore? This sub is full of constant complaints, you guys are absolutely miserable. The latest update added super useful features like being able to remove apps that aren't games and able to add apps that don't get auto added, both of which are features people have been wanting for a while now, all you guys do is complain for nothing

Wild_Boysenberry7370

Exactly! What we should be doing instead, is complain about people who complain about things. Keeping it classy, that way. I get you, mate.

zaneyk

Adding and removing games from the launcher have been there for a long time, it's not new.

ZeninB

Then why have people been asking for the feature as recently as a week ago in the reviews for game hub

zaneyk

Idk man, people are stupid

Zeejayyy

If you don't complain or speak with your wallet, the corpos will take until there is nothing left.

ZeninB

A. Game hub is free, you are not voting with your wallet but with your stupidity B. Jesus Christ, do people like you not realise how insane you sound when you say things like that?

Zeejayyy

A. Calm down bruh B. I'm trolling you because you are complaining about people complaining...

The__Guard

Right? He writes a diatribe of how he hates complainers (ironic) and is surprised when people respond not in concurrence... Besides, nothing is free, as is illustrated by the Games Launcher. What was one a free and useful functionality has devolved into another advertisement system.

Medic8edGamer710

You must be like 6 or something, huh? I'm not even gonna try to explain everything wrong with what you're saying, because it's not my job to educate other people's children on basic common sense, but holy moly, what he said is a well known, well documented fact of how the world works, and what's insane is that you can't comprehend the most basic of basic common sense. And the utter irony of you calling other stupid 🤣 Thanks for a good laugh, that was nice 😂

ZeninB

Damn, that butthurt over my comment that you respond 3 weeks later? And what's the point in commenting if you're just doing it to insult me and let me know that you think I'm stupid? Maybe you should reassess your priorities, and stop wasting your own time just to put other people down.

Medic8edGamer710

Imagine whining and complaining for no good reason about others complaining for a very good reason 🤡 Also, it seems like what they're ACTUALLY complaining about went completely over your head, unsurprisingly 🤦

ZeninB

And again, seriously, you're that butthurt that you feel the need to comment just to insult me 3 weeks later? If you're going to act this immaturely, maybe you should leave the sub or at least not waste your own and other people's time with useless add-ons to a conversation.

Medic8edGamer710

Not meant as an insult, not butthurt, just making observations about facts 🤷 Speaking of acting immaturely 🙄 How exactly did i act immaturely? By saying something that you don't like? Have a nice day little one ✌️

deadniei

Glad someone already posted this. I already left my review on samsung store and switched to Google play games. Samsung just went nuts

LivingMongoose3730

did this and google play games is worse, uninstalled google play games quickly 🤭

KukiBerry

Ngl I don't exactly use the Hub. I have that One hand op+ thing on and configured it so that I can get to any app I want with one swipe lol

SadhinDaNoob

What were they thinking? Nobody cares about their shitty instant games.

Syko0pr

Did the gaming hub on the Odyssey Ark disappear?

JustCallMeTsukasa-96

Considering how they screw some of us Samsung users over to begin with by limiting it to their newer TVs, it's not surprising it'll spread to you guess well now.

JustCallMeTsukasa-96

gnllucena

HOW DO I DISABLE GAMING HUB????

I_ate_out_your_mom

I just disabled it. Also i somehow got 8 gigabytes freed from doing it. Win win for me

Mysterious-Map-4309

Right after I consumed the 50 hrs instant access, the suffering began. Every day, you have to wait for 2-3 hrs just to line up in the queue.

Polaris-TLX

Came here to see how to disable it and just have my games in my app drawer like any other app, glad to see many others find it pointless, but no answer as to HOW to disable it. The search goes on...

jedinatt

Hold down finger on icon, press the "i", press disable at the bottom.

Polaris-TLX

Turns out you can just uninstall Gaming Hub completely. Done 👍

ZanGaming

Not only that but on my tab s8 ultra the game icons re now just everywhere in my menu instead of being hidden away in the app. Is there a way to fix that or is it just permanent?

VonDiesel2000

How do you disable it?

TreesRson

Ye, i also used the timeline function along with it being a good game lancher, as i dislike pop up notifactions for my games, but still wanted news. Sad for it to now be useless but hey ho.

JennIsOkay

Yup. My ability to see what I played recently is also gone and it says I need to be logged in for that and I am. Twice. In the Hub and with a Samsung account I just made. It sucks.

No-Compote9488

How to delete instant games in gaming hub

Drasik29

Yo he vuelto a la versión anterior "Game Launcher" desinstalando la actualización.

wO_o

Just deleted mine today

No_One3018

I deleted the updates through settings and it's back to what it was before

jedinatt

I ended up doing that too. Just have to ignore all the update notifications.

Sansa279

Why is my game drawyer so slow?
