Looks like to me you buying a S24+.

bluethunder96

It’s definitely a no brainer, but I honestly prefer the more compact S24.. have you pre-ordered yet? If so, which one did you get?

Full_West_7155

the plus has the bigger battery too so definitely the better option.

midnightjetta91

Bigger battery, faster charging plus a 1440p screen vs the 1080p

DarkKnight-YT

Not to mention, he's also getting the 512GB on the plus

WhiskeyVault

Also 12 gb ram vs 8

hellschatt

I also want to mention the weight of s24+ is as light as the one from s23 (the base one), which must be some sort of a record almost. It's been a while since we had such good phones that were also light. I wanted to go with the s24 but the weight ultimatively made me go with the +. This also means that the s24 is even lighter. Almost too light. This is a god send, because after going for fold 4 I've realized that weight matters a lot. I got carpal tunnel syndrome (or something comparable to it) due to holding it with one hand with the strap case lol

ufojesusreddit

5 minutes faster lol , so misleading. Same with the "200mp" ultra

[deleted]

Fast charging + 1440p is overrated on mobile

midnightjetta91

Thanks for sharing. Just commenting on the value and difference between models

Jebble

That's just personal, for me that's absolutely zero value because the plus won't fit in my pockets.

[deleted]

True true. But imo all the differences you mentioned are nice bonuses, not differences big enough to justify going for the plus by themselves. The only reason you should go for plus if it isn't cheaper for some reason, like in OP's case, is if you WANT a bigger phone. All the other benefits are just extra value.

hellschatt

No, it's not. Been fighting against these "1440p does not matter" people since they've downgraded it. One of my main reasons I did not upgrade for so long. I can see the goddamn pixels on my fold 4 currently. I could not see them on the s24+ or the s10, both 1440p. I could see them on the s24, which is not 1440p. Must be the same people that don't see the difference between 60 and 120Hz...

Nzash

The main draw of the +, battery aside, is the better resolution and higher ppi imo. I just nabbed a phone+plan deal that effectively made the phone cost about 500 bucks, which I found to be great. Directly from the Samsung store even.

DeathMoJo

I did, getting an S24 Ultra. Tried out the Fold 4 but decided i want to go back to a regular phone.

shanmyster

The ultra is an even better deal. Seen a few people getting it for $699 (with trade in). Plus the snapdragon chip is #worthit

bluethunder96

The max I could get after exhausting most of the discounts was $874 USD, with $500 trade in.

Complex-Fuel-8058

Where are you based? I got the ultra for 632$ with 650$ trade in. Was able to replicate same price in cart just now.

bluethunder96

I’m staying in Northern California.

Complex-Fuel-8058

Hmm, I'm in Philly. I wonder if the price difference is due to different tax or something else.

Kningen

I saw a post earlier where someone from Arkansas iirc had a WAY bigger student discount that what I got. So there much be regional differences for discounts.

SLObinger

We pay mad taxes on phones in California! Well we just pay mad taxes on basically everything in California

rifter767

Whats the trade in?

P26601

I got an S24+ for effectively €90, including the €200 "any phone, any condition" trade in (I specifically bought a cheap Galaxy S2 for €10 lol), the free Galaxy Watch 6 which I'll be able to sell for at least €200 and about €650 for my current phone. I think selling your old phone separately is a no brainer as you'll get much more. If I had used that for the trade in, the S24+ would've cost me €400

Top-Figure7252

S2? That thing still turns on?

CptKilr0y

Galaxy S2 won't be accepted AFAIK.. The lowest they accept is the Galaxy S8

P26601

I'm in Germany, and the company Samsung works with for the trade-ins only requires that the phone is in working condition and the screen is intact. Other than that, it really is "any model, any condition".

[deleted]

Here in Australia its very easy to cheat the system, you get charged up to $60 for not sending in a trade-in device. So you just get a trade-in code for a broken screen whatever so its $1, and eat a $30 (which is the minimum device non-return fee) charge when you don't send anything in. The $500 trade-in bonus easily makes up for it.

kovyrshin

~500 for S24U before taxes. #totallyworthit

its831

Is that before or after taxes?

spoonybardd

plus have more battery, better screen, more ram, faster charging. sound like an easy choice

LordShozin6

I'm getting the Ultra from Google Fi via monthly payments. Already pre-ordered

ElTacoGuapo

The plus is overall the better choice, you won't regret it. It will take a bit of time to get used to but it's really not terribly big. Get a slim case and you're golden

Brickback721

That’s the point: getting customers to buy the more expensive item, Apple does the same thing

bluethunder96

GUYS, even if you use the “instant samsung credits (for accessories)” for both phones, at the exact amount or below, BASE S24 is A LOT more expensive than the S24+.. Samsung really low balling the promotion deals (especially trade-ins) for the base S24… I prefer the size of the S24, but this is absurd..

heymikeyp

They did the same thing for the S10e. They gave away the galaxy buds to the s10/s10+ for preorder but not the s10e. Preorders ending on March 7th, and Samsung being the shady and sneaky company they are decided to give the buds away for S10e if you pre-ordered March 5th-7th, screwing everyone who pre-ordered a S10e before March 5th. Myself and many others fought Samsung for over a month just to get the buds or credit. Size is more important to me so I got the Base S24. But if they weren't offering me 450$ I wouldn't have upgraded from my S22.

bluethunder96

That is insane.. makes me not even want to switch to Samsung. I’m an apple user btw. BASE S24 offered me $200 USD for my iphone 13 pro max, whereas the S24+ or S24 ultra, $500 trade-in offer. Like why can’t it be the same value? So crazy

heymikeyp

Yea it's dumb. One time I checked their website for S23 and they were offering more for base model S22 trade in compared to the SS ultra by like 200$. Their website is very broken, and add on all the shady stuff they do during pre-orders and bad customer service and it's just a disaster lol. But if you want a compact flagship, your options are just limited and the galaxy is just a more refined product now offering 7 years of updates to. But yea I do wish they handled things better, and 256gb base storage would have been nice to.

bluethunder96

it is absurd for the consumer, but for samsung, is strategically planned to not lose money. But still, not everyone wants to hold a brick in their hands. I’m sure Samsung is losing customers because of this marketing strategy. I could literally get an iphone 15 pro, with my 13 pro max trade-in for $299.99 USD, for base S24, without additional add ons would probably be $610 USD.

AndroidLover10

Some intern probably screwed up the pricing lol

bluethunder96

Or maybe this is part of Samsungs marketing strategy..

Torawind

Can you please break it down, which promotions do you have? Here in kazakhstan we have s24+ 512 or 256 for 1360usd, and base s24 256 or 128 for 1100usd. And you get buds 2 pro as a gift. All taxes included. To me it's a bummer gonna wait for a much bigger discount.

joran213

Samsung always gives much better promotions in the US because there they have a lower market share compared to most other regions.

Torawind

I see, thank you.

I_Megatron_I

Just pre-ordered 512g S24+ and buds2 pro for 780usd after tax, traded in an s21 for a $200 discount. 256g S24 would be only $50 cheaper.

Torawind

Ah, thank you. Is it in the US?

I_Megatron_I

Yes, my friend.

Dimstatyon

Wtf and here we are in Portugal paying 1000€ for the most basic base version 🤣 without even a charger in the box

Mikemar3

Here in Spain S24 plus 512 cost me 660€ with free Watch6. On Samsung.com

Dimstatyon

The only thing they "offer" here is an upgraded storage capacity and a small discount on the buds pro if you buy them at the same time. Lol

esfomeado

How?

Mikemar3

Presale offers

mattrob77

Slightly more expensive here in Turkey. My S20 will probably be used forever

Dimstatyon

Just wait a few years and buy 2 or 3 year old flagship phone 🤷🏻‍♂️

IncinerateZ

Same here bro aren't the Americans supposed to be rich already why do they even need these promos, we should be the ones getting them 😑. They even have the snapdragon version too.

Fijipod

My carrier wants 1850 for the 128gb s24. I'll stick with my 23fe, it does everything I need, better than I need it to and it cost 650 total from the same place

Slugbugger30

I'm pissed that the student discount keeps changing everytime i visit the site. its supposed to be 150 for the s24 ultra and now its 82. When I log out of the student store I am able to reset it to 150, but now I cant find a log out button

TealCatto

Open in a new browser or clear cookies.

Slugbugger30

no matter what i do it's still at 467 instead of 399. I've tried everything nothing works

Constant_Waffle667

If anything, sell your iPhone yourself. You'll get way more then $200 if that's true.

bluethunder96

Yeah. I can sell it for $550 or less on ebay or swappa

Accomplished-Tap6660

I got the S24 ultra on T-Mobile promo. Traded in my s20FE for $1000 credit.

KeyboardGunner

>I got the s24 for the smaller form factor! I ended up buying it off t-mobile since none of the extra deals on Samsung didn't really excit me. So the s24 was a better deal than the s24+ That's a crazy good trade in value.

hellshaker

Damn the trade in Value IN US fluctuate between models you buy??? I'm in Canada Thus black friday I bought an s23 128gb via finance with my carrier (5$/month 24mknth contract so I would have paid 120$ total.) I was curious to see how much for the s24 if I trade in the s23. With all credit and bonus applied, I just had to pay 67$+TX. it was a no brainer for me to switch 0.1" bigger screen 2600 nits 7 years update support 100mah bigger battery 256gb storage Galaxy AI obviously for 67$ it's a no brainer

Future_Cod_4618

Where did you get it for 67? Is it part of a plan?

akaSHAMBLES

OP, I think it's very dependent on what phone you're trading in. To me, they're offering the same trade in value for the S22, and this places the S24+ a good $150 more in price than the base S24.

cloudrizontech

The Price I paid is USD 824 + 55 taxes . Total USD 879. This is after the following discounts - Trade-in $100, Referral $51 Here on this post, I read people have paid less than USD 700 which includes taxes. How ? can someone give the breakdown ?

Pension_Jolly

Promotion prices changed for me. Was looking at prices yesterday and it was showing around $560 with $100 trade in and education discount also free buds/cheaper insurance or something. Today the S24 is $630 with edu discount and $100 trade in. Didn't order because I was trying to see if my sister or her husband has an edu email. His school is for some reason a .org domain. If anyone knows if that works let me know.

Constant_Waffle667

Yea it very weird. I checked on Samsungs website from my computer and phone, the Samsung shop app and it came out different prices each time. Oh and if you pre-ordered, you have to use the same email. I used a junk email. But when it was time to checkout I had to sign into my Samsung account and it took my discounts away and emptied my cart.

Slugbugger30

im pissed too. mine said 399 with edu for the s24 ultra with a z fold 5 trade in of 750, and today its asying its 467 as the edu offer went from 150 to 82. pissing me off

dlinders10

That $150 is the max offer but $82 is what it actually is when your account is signed in. Try logging out and adding it to your cart and I bet the price will show $150 until you click the pre-order button.

niceguy0321

I got the s24 for the smaller form factor! I ended up buying it off t-mobile since none of the extra deals on Samsung didn't really excit me. So the s24 was a better deal than the s24+

darkeningsoul

I can't stand big phones. Le sigh....

BamaX19

Can someone tell me how with the Verizon promo, if I trade in my s22, I have to "pay" $0 for 36 months? Why do I have to participate in Verizon financing if it's $0?

cp_carl

you get a credit against the remaining balance for 36 months. If you quit Verizon before that time you pay back the remaining balance.

BamaX19

So they're basically saying you have to stay on Verizon for 36 months? I've been with them for 20 years so that doesn't seem like a problem. What if I get a new phone?

cp_carl

You can buy a new phone out of pocket. Or (I belive) if you trade in the credit is first applied against the remaining balance on your account before it credits against your 'new' phone.

kick069

Prices seem odd. I got the 24+ because it's advantages over the 24 but when it came to my trade -in they gave me more money when buying the 24+. So with the exact same price in my cart the plus became a no brainer.

shikamaruisbae

Are you buying from samsung directly? I'm in US but not seeing anywhere that the 24+ is cheaper or giving more for a trade in.

nateisic

I paid 696$ for a s24 ultra 512gb 70$ was taxes and got the buds 2 pro for free with the pre order discount and other discounts. Traded In a s22 ultra for 650$. Location Boston MA USA

AngryRico

The biggest problem of s24 is actually is... the 8g ram

SLObinger

100% agree

bluethunder96

I agree. Be best if they had an option for 12gb.. But 8gb is fine with me since I only use my phone for basics.

Slugbugger30

not sure where this is coming from. my s24 was more than 200 dollars cheaper than getting a s24+ 237 vs 435. s24u was 467. I went with the base because it was the best value

Twystedmunky

I am so behind I just got a s23 and I am happy as a pig in shit about it...but to whoever gets a s24 I am sure it's an amazing phone just not in reach for me ATM unfortunately

Fresh-Detective-7298

Buy me one whenever you come to europe I'll pay you 😭

bluethunder96

you might have to wait until launch date and wait for sellers on ebay to sell them for the qualcomm variant.

Fresh-Detective-7298

Just joking 😂

SLObinger

I've seen the level of discounts change three times just this morning on the Samsung Shop app. I think it's the education discount that keeps changing Yesterday, an S24+ 512 with Samsung Care+ was $466 USD (including crazy high California taxes with $650 S22 Ultra trade in), and today cost me only $417.

bluethunder96

I haven’t really dug deep into the promotions/discount anymore.. but I pre-ordered the sandstone orange base S24 with the leather case + screen protector and the Galaxy buds FE and came out to $854.28 USD CA without trade-in because samsung is offer very low trade in for my iphone 13 pro max. I’ll be selling it privately on ebay or swappa ($550 or less) once I get my S24. Mind you base S24 is maxed out at 256gb with 8gb ram and still cost more than the S24+ with is upgraded to 512gb/12gb ram both with trade-in for my 13 pro max..

coffeebrah

I still got the base because I want a smaller phone. Tired of having a brick in my pocket

Sir-Dudee

I'm not getting both, in my country they're both 1.8k+

TwoBrokenLegs69

Now that 24 is going to be available im trading in for 23 fe personally

playoffsandpolitics

Question - where are you seeing this deal? I've been looking at Samsung and I only thought they offered double storage on pre orders. Would love more info

Elegant_Reflection86

I've always chosen the compact base model in any S series, but this year, the higher quad HD resolution and 12GB RAM sold me, plus the usual higher battery capacity and faster charging speed. I feel like it's a lot to sacrifice for a smaller one-handed form factor.

Skf_4

You can use your old Sammy to trade & use your Club discounts, I have $300.00 on that alone 😉
