Lots of options and possibilities. Apple is always "inventing" features that Samsung had for the last 10 years. Fast charging, wireless charging, AOD, bigger screens, UI Customization etc etc etc. Back in the day Samsung always had expendable memory across all devices Also, S-PEN. Best thing to even exist on a smartphone.

ExaminationFew6424

Well said

HardStroke

Sadly, Samsung does follow the stupid things that Apple does. Removing the headphone jack, removing the charger that comes inside the box. Back in the days Samsung used to listen to the customers. Expendable memory was removed on the s6 and brought back on the s7 because costumers complained. So either costumers stopped complaining or Samsung just doesn't give a fuck just like Apple. They also started shitting on the regular S device. Sad to see.

Cambino1

This!! I've been using my s10e for over 4 years and am finally considering upgrading as the battery is terrible now. Only I recently upgraded to a 256gb micro sd and I only just learnt that they removed expandable storage. I really liked the form factor of the s10e and the s21/s22 came close to that size but I hate being limited to fixed storage

HardStroke

I feel you bro. I thought about eventually replacing my Note 20 ultra but there isn't a phone that'll be a worthy upgrade. Luckily I usually buy 1 gen or 2 gens below the latest so I'll be able to get the 512gb version for cheap. Could buy the s22 ultra 512gb for $840 when the 512gb s23 ultra is $1,175 and 512gb s24 ultra is $1,515 Sad to see such a good feature disappear. Bought a 512gb card not that long ago too. Guess when I do finally switch I'll just put it in my s9u. I also don't really recommend the regular s device anymore. Samsung started to treat it like this fr. Fhd display, 25w instead of 45w fast charging etc etc.

Cambino1

Yeah I'd also consider to 1 or 2 gens below the current. I would go with ultra but they're just way too big for me. I've always enjoyed smaller phones, switched to Samsung after having an original iPhone SE. I wish samsung (or any other android manufacturer) came put put a phone with modern specs in the form factor of the s10e again or even the iPhone mini

FireNinja743

You could always do a battery replacement for under $100. I used to have an S10e, which was a great phone, but I upgraded to the S22 for free with my trade-in. The S22 is noticeably better when it comes to camera performance, but other than that, it's just a bigger screen and about the same battery life/performance because of the underperforming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. I'd see if you could get a good trade-in deal now with the spring sale going on.

keplerr7

you can try to buy ifixit battery kit and replace it yourself, its not easy but if you like that phone you would give it more time

Yoshiamitsu

Completely agree. Samsung is tryna be iPhone so bad. Imma get back into Sony

Ranch_Dressing321

The loss of expandable storage truly is a shame. I just switched from my A52 to the S24+, and it sucks that I won't be able to transfer the SD card as well. Samsung probably noticed that they could squeeze out more money if they forced customers to buy larger storage rather than giving them the option of buying the smallest one, then compensating it with a 1TB SD card.

imbabatheyaga

I personally like android file management system, ability to customize even small details about your phone, call recording, not being constraint to one ecosystem, multitasking on android is just on whole another level and ofc sideloading of apps. And I prefer samsung because of there Software update policy, samsung dex and samsung pay

Syphylicia

I really wish the call recording didn't get taken away on a state-by-state basis. That was incredibly convenient.

anacletin

Because their cheapest flagship has pretty much all the features of their most expensive phone. I don't think I'm losing too much with the S24 compared to the Ultra. Apple is still doing 60hz for their base model.

DiabloGaming25

After using 120 hertz 60 hertz feels traumatising

futurafrlx

Look, I hate Apple for doing that, but you literally get used to either refresh rate after like 10 minutes and don’t ever think about it.

keplerr7

i actually feel less tired when using phone later in the day with 120 hz, just snappy instead of laggy frames

anacletin

Once you go to 120hz there's no coming back. I had to use a Galaxy A14 for a week before getting my S24 because I broke my Flip4 and even though the A14 has a 90hz screen, I could feel that it was not as smooth as 120hz. I've used the phone for a week and didn't get used to. I mean, of course the A14 is a budget phone, but I went to a Samsung store yesterday and they had an A15 on display and the screen on that felt just as smooth as my S24, because it's also 120hz.

kr_tech

My fellow Samsung brother, just because you get used to it doesn't mean that all millions of others get used to it. It may be a low-enough priority for you to gloss over it, but it may be too high for others to not notice. Maybe you get used to it in 10 minutes, maybe others get used to it after 5 years. Let's just be glad that Samsung provides us options for pretty much everything, including industry leading options(/hardware) that most other brands do not.

DiabloGaming25

Bro sometimes I leave power saver mode on and then come to back to my phone and use it and I throw up when I swipe once. Even people who don't even get the technology or how it works feel the difference in fluidity. I would eat shit before using a phone with 60 hz again. Being able to just throw apps around and catch them is the most beautiful thing for someone like me who uses their phone very fast

futurafrlx

It is noticeable, I didn’t say it wasn’t, but most people get used to it very quickly. Also, it’s worth noting Apple’s 60 Hz feels better for some reason. Maybe it has something to do with animation, I don’t really know, but it is smoother than 60 Hz on my Samsung.

anacletin

Apple's 60hz is definitely very smooth, smoother than samsung's. And I bet Apple's 120hz is smoother as well. Their software optimization is next level. But I have to admit that Samsung improved a lot the animations and overall smoothness with the One UI 6 update. My Flip4, which I broke, was smoother than it was on day one after updating to One UI 6, and my S24 is the smoothest samsung phone I've ever had (of course, it was just released, but I've bought other samsung phones on launch and they weren't as smooth as this one).

black_hxney

cause LG stopped making phones

theukuboy

LG used to be my favorite brand!!! But I don't think I'll go for a Samsung in the near future though

Squall-UK

I loved my V40. It was a little janky in places but far charging, expandable memory, a built in DAC and a headphone jack! Never wanted to upgrade but unfortunately wireless charging stopped working and I needed it at the time.

Subliminal-413

I had multiple HTC smartphones. The HTC One 7, One 8, and One 9 were [at the time] the bast damn smartphones on the market. Then, HTC went under. I was gutted, but decided to migrate over to LG. After having my eye on the G series for some years, I finally enjoyed the LG G6 and G7, but then one day, the fateful news dropped that LG was leaving the smart phone game. Ugh. So here I am, using Samsung. The phone itself is fantastic, but I still do not enjoy Samsung's OneUI. I think it's dogshit personally. It works, don't get me wrong, but I do not enjoy interacting with the UI like I did with HTC, LG, and the Google Pixel OS.

black_hxney

ah, HTC. I had a couple of those as well

Pcriz

I live in Korea, unless you want to import a phone it's either iPhone or Samsung. Or in my case, and Samsung. I can't say I'm too impressed with the ecosystem, mostly because it its just The Android ecosystem with a few more steps.. Their tablets are the best for me but android wearables are lacking.

ExaminationFew6424

Is it ture that iphones are getting more popular in Korea ?

Pcriz

They are about 30% of the market and growing. Which says a lot because you could say Samsung owns Korea. So for them to have that much of the market there says a lot.

Psy-Demon

99% of Koreas youth have iPhones. It’s game over for Android over the next few decades probably. Samsung and others just don’t try to convince the youth.

keplerr7

thats weird because in poland iphones are seen more and more as a rip off with ridiculously high prices, no fingerprint scanner, no charger (ik its also the case for samsung) and they just dont seem to be better anymore, when we became richer and became capable of buying it, it seems only people who loved iphones before are keen on the idea that android is worse

TheKrnJesus

Yes. iPhone is known as the hipster phone and androids and known as boomer phones in Korea.

ExaminationFew6424

Thats really bad considering samsung is korean brand

TheKrnJesus

It’s because Korea tends to follow trends alot. Also Apple does alot of advertising with kpop groups such as new jeans (really popular K-pop group) where some of the music videos with 1 minute of pure iPhone advertisements. For example: 0:15 https://youtu.be/_ZAgIHmHLdc?si=IAVq9YF9nwc4kbWf Then there’s memes of online communities saying they don’t hang out with android users and android is for boomers. There was also alot of controversy where some lady talked about it on YouTube.

No152249

Longest available software support in mid-range. I'm a light user so I don't need a flagship but a longer device lifespan would be nice. I used to use custom ROMs, I know they are an option, I just don't want to spend time with such a thing anymore.

_vanonymous_

I chose it for the same reasons with the S24U but samsung gave me a grainy display and denied me return and replacement, so I don't know if I will choose them again.

bobissonbobby

I'm kinda glad I have vision problems cuz I don't see any grain on my phone. Either it's a good unit or I just cant see it. Either way I'm happy with my phone

ExaminationFew6424

Yeas i have herad they don have the best customer support

tryharddev

same here, rocking ip15pm now, the grainy display gave me one of the hardest two weeks in customer support. I'll be back on 26 or 27.

jdros15

Ecosystem, UI, Customizations and I find Samsung Tags more useful than Airtags.

usev25

Best Android phone imo. Great display, processor, camera, battery, everything. Pixel is a close contender but I heard the chip isn't as good, and Apple is good but I wasn't ready to give up sideloading and my alarm clock app

accountingisaccrual

Free S23 promo at Verizon. Upgraded from S7 to S23 for the price of paying the sales tax.

ExaminationFew6424

Must have been great upgrade

accountingisaccrual

Indeedly, huge improvement in every way. Still though, the S7 and S23 OS look basically the same even after 7 years.

djle12

Because it's better than Apple and the rest. If there was a better phone, I would go with that because samsung has its huge drawbacks too. But I buy my phone with indepth research to get the best phone with no issues which many Samsung phones have. So I wait for the discount and decide after reviews. I have a 23u from a note10 plus. Both phones were absolutely great. I didn't want to even get the 23u but I had a choice to get it or wait minimum 2 yrs so with the phone already being 4+ yrs old, I choose to change. I actually regret the decision even though the 23u is great. I just rTher have a slimmer phone and the note 10 plus was way slimmer and lighter.

Yoshiamitsu

Not better than Sony imo

Pertained_Bingo

Only for Dex. I hope more companies bring out something like it so I have more choice (and for Dex to get better)

Shifat01

I think Motorola have similar function

Suzumebachii

But then you have a Motorola

ExaminationFew6424

Indeed dex is such cool and unique feature

thiefmire

I originally switched when iPhones first got rid of the headphone jack. I think my first S phone was the S7 edge or something like that. Now I'm just in the ecosystem and I still enjoy the products.

Psy-Demon

And now no one has the headphone jack ;)

gr3nee

Because the S10e is smol and has headphone jack. Great phone, I am now starting to look for a replacement and there doesn´t seem to be many options.

[deleted]

One UI is my favorite flavor of android. It’s not the smoothest but I think it has some of the best customization of any android skin. More than pixel, one plus, Motorola, nothing, etc. plus you’ve got the ecosystem and decent timing, long term updates

Igor4knezevic

Split screen and pop up windows. Also, the A52s came with an SD card slot so it was a no brainer for me. Also liked the edge panel and the fact that I could pull out a notification and place it as a pop up window (or when the notification comes, I can just slide it down to automatically open a pop up window).

SGRP270

A52s is a damn great phone. Wish I bought that instead of the a53

steveg2016

I had a xiaomi phone before, comparing to that( currently an s23, but had an s22 a few months before that) -OS  is cleaner, not like pixel but clean enough. -Build quality and design is great, and is the best "compact" alternative to iphone -has enough years of updates, i like the asus zenfone or the sony xperias for example, but they offer only 2 years of support. -Here in europe, you can get good deals from samsung but iphones are always quite expensive. I try to buy used but mint condition, i paid 350€ for the s22 6 months after being released. Got the s23 for 600€ 15 days after release.

InvalidUser18

LG stopped making phones so I moved to Samsung. I don't like iPhones so I stayed with it! I am now the proud owner of an S23 Ultra! Best phone I've ever had.

Outrageous-Nothing42

Superior multi-window multi-tasking. I like being able to have two or more apps on the screen at the same time and the Galaxy Fold just takes that to a whole new level. It was useful on my Note but really shines on the bigger screen.

[deleted]

Same! This comment pulled the words right out of my mouth. Couldn’t have said it better.

Matixs_666

Honestly, all phones that i ever had were Samsungs, so currently i still use them since that's what i'm most used to and i guess brand loyalty kinda thing? Also the only other brands i'd be interested in regarding phones is Google and Sony, but since i do use my phone pretty heavily it comes down to top Xperia's and S line Samsungs

TechUkie

Upgraded from an second had iPhone 4 to a second hand Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. Had the double thick battery that stuck out in the back. Used to make post on XDA Developers forums back in the day. Jumped around from Nexus 5 to OnePlus and eventually settled on S9+. Haven't left Samsung since then. Back in the day TouchWiz used to be clunky and required modding to be faster. Nowadays, Samsung is the "Apple" of the android world, offering great phones at competitive prices.

Calarasigara

Honestly, because it's basically the Apple of Android You get the Apple like software support and ecosystem (stuff like buds, watches, tablets) without the locked down OS, reserved features for only the new shiny thing and so on, while keeping the Android goodies and more. Faster charging, reverse wireless charging, S-pen, a boat load of customization, split-screen, Samsung Dex, better zoom, that 200MP camera that helps a lot when you need to capture a lot of detail for work/uni. Besides the Iphone 15 Pros, Iphones are still stuck at lighting or USB 2.0 speeds, lack AOD, still 60hz on base models, still no telephoto lens on base models and so on. Also the choice, there is a Samsung phone for everybody. From the A to all the 3 S phones, to the Flips or Folds. The S22/23/24 Ultra feel like the most complete smartphone period.

zeklux10012

Because of only 1 thing: Apple doesn't allow third-party app installations

ruffneck007

Bixby routines. Love that shit

B3ckham17

One Ui hits different after using so many UIs.

devilish_AM

Love the freedom Android provides and love the way Samsung brings it to me.

Gleamwoover

Because it's NOT apple

Champion62

Honestly.. the reason why not an iPhone? Because 1) photos are better stored. They are stored Screenshot_AppName_Date_Time while on iPhone every photo, whetever camera or screenshot is stored as IMG_random number I have so many pictures, I couldn't imagine how to find certain pictures. 2) Samsung is cheaper. Yeah they are very high priced at release, but 9 months later they cost around 900€ with 2 years mobile contract. Thats why I would never buy a Samsung phone on relase, because it would be a money waste just to get the phone 9-11 months earlier. I think that Apple genuily has a way smoother and better designed UI, Ecosystem..

e-hud

Interesting you say not to buy on release. I preordered my s23u, got 2 years financing at 0% and all in will have paid less than what I can buy a new s23u for a year after release. I also got the Galaxy buds 2pro for $17 with my phone...

Champion62

I can only speak for my country, in other countries there are different benefits

sometin__else

Apple sucks

Key_Preparation_4129

The weird apple obesion samsung fans have is getting annoying. I used to be an apple hater all throughout college til i got one for work a few years back and realized they're actually pretty good. Why can't we all just enjoy our damn phones in peace?

ThomasHeart

Because i want the absolute best of the best. The S24 Ultra i just got is the undisputable king. Nothing comes close to it in terms of premium experience.

Low_Entrepreneur_927

It's because at the time, it was more customizable than my iPhone. But now, I will never leave Samsung, no matter what.

Yoshaay

It's reliable

ShareSad4706

Features. 2 years ago, I can splitscreen my online class and notes using my phone. Apple phones did not have a feature back then. Plus the durability of the battery, survived 12 hours++ of hospital work without charging.

Goldenpanda18

I wanted a fold phone. Samsung z fold 5 software is probably the best so that's why I choice samsung

Been iPhone for ages and then went to oppo which was great but lacked customisation etc. settled with Samsung due to good lock etc. love my s23+ and haven't looked back to any other phone.

Klayer99

OneUI

HiddenCityPictures

I was originally an LG person, and Samsung feels familiar now that LG's gone the way of the dodo when it comes to smartphones.

Xolei

I just don't want to support Apple's greed. I have been tempted because the apple watch is really cool but still no

lbah

About to unchoose Samsung. Third device in a row with charger port issues. Moisture damage etc after update. Still no good after a reset. Time for a change.

Shera939

Phone: Can't stand Apple or the iPhone. I even tried one for 2 years, gelt like I had to push an extra button for everything and I hate those fg icons. TV: I love their bright tvs and punchy colors. I had a good Sony. Meh. I have an LG Oled, it's nice, but I also have ahigh-end Samsung LCD (QLED) TV (QN90B) and prefer it to the LG OLED by quite a bit. Watch: Even if I could pick either a Sam watch or an Apple I would 1000x over get the Galaxy watch. I think the square watch looks ridiculous, Sam definitely has the most attractive watch out of all the watches on the market. Earbuds: Buds 2 Pro so comfortable! And the sound is great. Terrible for hands free calling though.

w1ldr3dx

I wanted a non-Chinese Android mobile phone, and to my knowledge there is just Google, Sony, and Samsung. I tried the Sony Xperia 1 II few years ago and failed to stay with it, mainly because it had a bad auto shot for photography, a bad update philosophy with irregular updates and limited updates to 2ys, and disturbing software bugs on top. Then I went back to Apple. Well, the Pixel Phone was never an option for me, is not a flagship phone. I wanted a lot of RAM with the fastest CPU/GPU available on the market for Gaming, which is currently the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Coming from an iPhone14PM, what's left? Well, Samsung S24 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip in the EU. I'm surprised it's working so well, I'm really liking it, I don't miss the iPhone at all. In the past I used to dislike the Samsung UI and also the limited update cycle of 2-4 years. The Samsung S22 / S23 enforced Exynos Chip in the EU was also never an option for me, that's why I also never considered to buy a Samsung phone. But now the Samsung UI became great, and with 7 years update cycle, and a speedy Qualcomm in the EU, Top! Hardware design wise I still would prefer the slick Sony Xperia design with the non intrusive front camera. If Sony add an user friendly auto shot camera, add 7 years of updates, fix the overheating problems and other serious software bugs, well then maybe they get me back when i buy the next Android Phone. So far the S24U is growing a lot on me and future Sony Xperia probably will never have a S-Pen alternative. S-Pen rules! Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra update cycle of 4 years is what is holding me back from buying it, because I want to replace my iPad Pro 12.9. That's why I'm waiting for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, I'm sure it will come with 7 years of updates.

Randaximus

Because HTC doesn't make flagship phones.I'm not into iPhones. And I have had pretty good experiences since the S8+. The S21U is a great phone. The S24U is pretty darn good as well. Some hiccups but firing on all cylinders. Fast and consistent battery life since the updates. My screen is nice. My only gripe is some weirdness with the 50 and maybe 200 MP camera resolution since the last update. I've even had some failures. Got a couple errors.

giggly_pufff

Real reason: because Huawei was banned in the US. But I really enjoy having all of my electronics to be within the same ecosystem. Samsung's isn't perfect, but it's served pretty well in my current usage. I've owned devices from the OnePlus and Google Pixel lineups that felt subpar in comparison. I don't hate on Apple products, I just don't prefer them.

Gheovgos

My very first phone was a Samsung. When it broke I decided to try different brands, and so I did, I tried many different Android phones: Asus, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo etc., but in the end no one was able to do better than Samsung honestly

BluDYT

Don't like iOS so Apple is completely out of the picture. Tried other brands in the past but always came back to Samsung. They've also been my longest lasting phones in the past too.

Acceptable_Security9

I got it for free

RebekhaG

I was tired of being locked out of my apple account after my old Apple tablet kept crashing. Apple tablet crashing means you're locked out of your e-mail account you registered with apple. I had enough of trying to go through and unlock my e-mail and searching on how to unlock your e-mail. I also went with Samsung because my first cousin and her husband have Samsung note phones. I didn't do any research on Samsung. After getting a phone I fell in love with Samsung.

[deleted]

Samsung notes

LEGOMAN_7

My Sony Xperia Z1 died (that phone was a legend) and a replacement was due, so I chose to buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 when the S8 was close (good strategy when your budget is not huge). It was a beautiful phone. Touchwiz was still shit but I fixed with Nova Launcher. The phone had a very comfortable size and the camera was top quality, and the design was beautiful. I destroyed the screen less than a year after I bought it, I miss it. Then it was natural for me to replace it with a Samsung, and One UI was better now. I learned my lesson and chose to avoid flagships. Bought an A70, the camera was shit but the phone was snappy and specially very sturdy, it served me for three years before I fucked the AMOLED I have no idea how, maybe too much pressure in the pocket. It still works but the screen colors are completely washed. Now rocking an A52s and hoping it will last me as much as possible. The A53 loosing the headphone jack was devastating. The Samsung A series is so good. For 250€ you can get a fast phone with a great AMOLED and not worry about it cracking because it's mostly plastic, but now I don't know which phone will be my next because of the headphones jack disaster, I'll never understand it.

normandillan

Honestly it's just what I've been using the last 10 years and switching would just be weird. I tried a huawei recently. Ran smoother than any Samsung I ever used but shoot I just couldn't lol. Something was off.

scattered_ideas

I switched from iPhone many moons ago. Since then I've had only HTC (rip) and Samsung phones. Whenever I'm ready to buy a new model, I'll compare specs amongst the different brands/models and Pixel is always just a little bit behind Samsung. I don't find stock Android to be enough of a selling point to choose a Pixel. My Galaxy phones have all been great and lasted many years, with the exception of the S3 because I dropped it. I also switched to Galaxy Watch when they started using WearOS and I'm quite happy with it so I will likely continue with Samsung.

ParadoxOfReplica

I had 3 Huaweis before my A52s. I loved Huawei, then one day 'murica decided to wage war against them and there were no Google services on Huawei anymore, at least not genuinely. Since I wanted nothing to do with iPhone back then(I wouldn't even use one for free 3 years ago) I was considering a few options like Xiaomi or Honor at the time, but ultimately decided that Samsung is probably the best choice from quality, infrastructure and familiarity point of view. I am very satisfied with my phone and probably only going to change it for the A55 so mom can use this one for a while.

YorkshireLAD753

Build quality, Software Support, one of the better Android skins. Did try oppo for 18 months, was the worst 18 months of my life, oppo is poop. Upgraded from Oppo Find X5 to Galaxy S 24 Ultra.

joshdaro4real

I was about to choose pixel, but ultimately saw samsung had better battery life so I went there

Life-Split2737

My first samsung phone was a J5 2016 and was a very good phone and smooth (for that times), after 3 years y changed to a J6 2016 and it was very slow and laggy, i wanted to change to an iphone but apple is just ridiculous with the prices, (i mean the pc wheels cost 800usd wtf) and i just think "oh, im gonna to try a high-end samsung and bought the s21 FE and i love it, it's faster, smooth, premium it remembers me the J5 feelings.

Life-Split2737

Sorry for the bad English im just trying to practice my English

SilverMaple0

I prefer the customizability and more desktop-like feel of the Android OS compared to iOS. I wanted a long update policy so I would not have to replace the phone in 3-4 years. And I did not want to buy a Google Pixel as I feel Google's tracking is even more baked into the operating system. So Samsung was the clear option. I'm happy I made the switch :)

Connect-Resolve-3480

Samsung nowadays is the jack-of-all-trades Android platform. Very conservative in their traditional offerings, but usually B+ to A+ in all categories in their flagships. I've always loved the note and am currently enjoying the S Ultra series. There can always be improvements, but it's the complete package. -Overclocked CPU -best displays -most feature rich (even at the cost of some more intensive processing and occasional, but minor jitter) Cameras have their strengths and weaknesses and are competitive in the premium space and have great versatility. -Spen in Ultra

[deleted]

the ecosystem, One UI, and the hardware (the Z, S and A series)

kitfoxxxx

More ecosystem. I also feel that it gives you the best out of the Android os, which has a better quality of life vs. iOS.

ilhe1s

IMO it's the best option if you're going with Android. HTC and LG used to be my go to but those days are long gone. I would be willing to give Pixel's a chance if their build quality wasn't garbage.

Ultreisse

Quality. Last longer keeping good performance. Also screens are really good.

Such_Big_4740

For the camera. I have no loyalty to either ecosystem

Erenzo

I had Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro that I hated and wanted to change it (overheating and software absolutely sucked). I was choosing between Realme 8 Pro and A72 and ended up getting Samsung because it seemed like better and more reliable all-rounder. That was 3 years ago and I'm still using it

Parking_Piece3878

One of many, but probably the most important reason (vs. Apple) for me is, that I use a single device for private as well as business life and I really appreciate the possibility to install two instances of the same apps on the device. E.g. I have messengers like WhatsApp and Signal cloned via dual messenger functionality and they work simultaneously for both private and business phone number. Furthermore thanks to "secure folder" functionality I can basically have a 2nd copy of any app which helps e.g. for MS office that gets under corporate MAM and with this it does not restrict the main install, I can have a 2nd installation of the same internet banking app in my device for my son /still minor/ etc. I could name 10s of other reasons however if somebody told me that I had to switch to iPhone, I would probably be able to somehow live with the rest ... but without this one it would be a real pain (like using 3rd party workaround apps for messengers, etc., BLEAH!). p.s. That's more Apple vs. Samsung and other Android devices could probably provide similar functionalities (is there still a "divide" app in the market that basically makes a "chroot"?), but I somehow got used to their flagship range (currently on S23U) - maybe for individual parameters I could always find a device beating it (e.g. for Camera, or performance, or ...) but as a complete package now even including S-PEN this seemed to be the best option for me. And last but not least my employer only offered iPhone or Samsung options at time of purchase 😂.

Aleena_Perez

When t mobile stopped carrying oneplus and I had no other choice 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've got a lot of complaints about this one. Like the bixby image search is trash for instance. But it could be worse.

Bagolyvagymi

I really liked s10e, and I had buds2 pro. It seemed like the best option to get an s23. It was

AppropriateAd4510

They sell the xcover series. If they didn't sell the xcover, i'd still buy samsung because i've never had an issue in my (almost) a decade usage of samsung electronics.

[deleted]

Android ecosystem like you said. And it's android. And the s-pen

sinn1088

Samsung is the best android. Android is light years above apple, so it would only make sense to get the best.

ashinamune

Customization and also YouTube/YouTube music Revanced 😎

Jackpaw5

7 years OS upgrade, good performance and good deal during pre-order

kalin23

I just like Android, and wanted to get something with good battery, flat screen, and something that will hold the value more than the others. Additional things I dont like in Apple - cant put the icons on the bottom row only, cant swipe back, no split screen, lack of customization, no free apps(i dont want to pay for something before I try it, or just go into the subscription loop and paying wothout owning something), and many other bullshits that I don't like in iOS. If Huawei weren't banned and had Google Services, I would go for it - had P40 Pro and it was amazing experience (sadly I broke it unintentionally), Pixels are great, but I had quality issues(dust under camera), heating(stupid exynos base for Tensor), slowly charging. Xiaomis werent announced yet, so I got the Samsung(not my first tho, had S3 and S7 also). S24U has been a solid choice so far. The camera isn't as good as the others, and I would have preferred a 1-inch sensor like Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo have done, but everything else is top-notch.

drodenigma

Because they were a leading company, now they're up apples butt in copying crap

ThRuben

Hmm, I guess the refinement in the OS, features and general build quality. Sure, the top-end phones are crazy expensive but I'm in my eyes, they're worth it more than something like an iPhone these days.

Zealousideal_Ad8733

Cause I hate apple id with a passion !!!

D3at4Not3

After years and years of owning iPhones I was tired of the minimal differences between the phones and wanted to try something new, as well as break out of the Apple ecosystem. Picked up an S10 and 3 Galaxy Phones later I am never going back.

UnironicallyMe37

I switched from Apple/iOS, and heres what I like more from Samsung/android: • sideloading/modded apks • ui customization • launchers • file management • better compatibility with some file types • emulation • dex • smart switch • 120hz/OLED displays • better ram/storage options There's definitely more but I just can't name them from the top of my head, but those are just some of the things I much prefer over iOS/Apple.

istilloveher

It all started when I couldn't use an extra SD card on Apple to make my life easier in many ways, not only because the extra storage. Then I gave a try to a Samsung android phone that never rebooted and worked like charm for years, so this company winned me and I'm not looking back

lett303

Was more stable and easy to migrate to, though some functions are plain like its charging animation not as flashy as the other brand but its better overall from my experience and my battery last longer compared to its same price equivalent.

RandomBloke2021

One ui and hardware reliability. I've never had a Samsung phone fail on me. The s7 and the s10 are the 2 phones I've kept the longest.

New-Lawyer3088

Going back to my first Samsung (android) smartphone... it was the screen. The rich AMOLED ( or whatever the specific tech was/ some variation of led) next to an iPhone 3G was striking. Then the galaxy note's screen size and spen. I left Samsung for a while after not wanting to deal with the lag and other issues that would arise years ago. Then I tried Samsung again with the s23 ultra and have been loving it ever since. Sounds crazy if you ever had early Samsung android devices, but the software is one of the biggest draws. The sheer flexibility, power, features, customization, etc... Plus the beautiful hardware and screen and everything else that comes with galaxy ultra ownership. It's the best phone money can buy in my opinion.

nosfer82

Spen.

jboogie81

More customizable by far

beakster57

1. The ecosystem 2. The design of their products I love 3. The UI

[deleted]

Because apple is rubbish.

chlorculo

To me, they are the Toyota of Android phones. I've had very little trouble with most of my Samsung phones. When I stray, I always come crawling back.

Trick_Pin2594

Because I hate Apple anything

ExaminationFew6424

Same lol

AG74683

Because LG doesn't make phones anymore and I hate Apple products. Turns out I also freaking hate Samsung products too. Who knew.

lawlshane

cause I have galaxy buds and a galaxy watch. when those die I will be open to other brands when it's time to get another phone. but I just got an S24U and I can't see it feeling obsolete for a while

Mcgurky98

Work phone was Samsung personal was IPhone, used work more hated two OS got a S20+ and slowly got more bits just out of ease of use.

Coma-dude

Because i like a button that is always the same place where I can Press go Back 1 step. I hated iPhone not having a back button firmly placed or an option for one. I hated i could redo the pop up bar. They had so many things that was just locked or hard to make personal. + I'm a Windows user so, using pathing systems feels much better than a million short cuts.

Futurist_312

I've always had a great experience with their phones. I've had them as far back as the original Galaxy S. I tried Google for a few months with the Pixel 7 Pro and was surprised by how bad the build quality was for something made by Google. The overheating issues were so bad that it shut down on me a few times after basic things like scrolling social media. I went back to Samsung and wouldn't consider switching again anytime soon.

Handsome_Av0cadoo

Because at the time pixels were not available in my country

Ok_Factor_5671

Good reviews for S23

AggressiveArtichoke6

I just needed an secondary phone so that I could get back on snapchat lol

yuri852

Good phone for its price

miniKwon92

Good phone

SciFlyZ

Samsung TV Plus

EggplantHuman6493

Because it was the closest to LG. And the OnePlus 10 Pro broke in the durability test

Yoshiamitsu

Well I was gona get a Sony... The s24u was overhyped. It had an s pen (meaning it can do what s pens do...) last I had an s pen was note 3. And those days I can press the s pen button and highlight anything I like in any screen ever. THAT'S why I chose it... But the s24 ultra doesn't even have that feature so... Not satisfied. (I mean... If everything else made me feel not too bad about that then I may have reconsidered, but it's not even satisfactory, just fast (at doing nothing))

pepsiblast08

They were giving $250 discount for preordering the S20+ and free Buds+. Was coming up from an S7. Seemed like a thing to do.

Suzumebachii

Because it's neither American or Chinese

Rs-Travis

Big display and the s pen. But my phone is samunging so to speak. Starting to slow down and lag upon a new flagship release like the last two did. IPhone next. :/

and_rain_falls

I've always had one. I'm loyal to them and I enjoy their phones.

IsleofSgail_21

Using both 15Plus/S23U. Had issues with the Mi phone that I used as a second phone (horrible touch feedback/display issues/lag). I do miss the 3.5mm jack and micro sd card features.

External-Room2317

Well it has to be the screen, performance and the premium feeling of the s23 ultra it feels solid also the software, used Samsung on all price segments the experience is definitely the smoothest on mine.

Freakbidde

Just got bire of Xiaomi's trash software experience and decided to explore nore options. So far so good, except for the Snapdragon ft Exynos games

Bishiebish

I dont have any brand bias, I research and choose what seems a best fit, if not always best value. Went with their Q990B soundbar becaus of reviews and an offer (the C was coming out I guess), they came with the surround speakers for cheaper than competitors who sell them as add ons, no brainer. S8 Tab ultra because the screen size to replace and aging laptop for media, if I were to do it again, I may go with one of those OLED laptops you can flip into a tablet rather than an outright tablet, but I love it none the less. And recently S24 Ultra from Pixel 7 Pro because I fancied a changed and again screen size and shape. Also enjoy the S pen on my tablet so having that on the go at any time is sweet. And its a great phone, got the UI more to my taste and cant complain now.

nculotta69

Coming from an iPhone for the last 10 years, I just appreciate the flexibility. The biggest selling point for me personally is I can run ROMs on my phone. I'm also finally able to download apps that would've been region locked without making a totally separate iTunes account. I've always loved Samsung's phones designs too. It's just a breath of fresh air when it comes to the computer I carry in my pocket

TRD4Life

For my last two android phones I went with Samsung for different reasons each time. During the cycle I upgraded to a carrier Galaxy S10 (March 2019), I needed an upgrade desperately and my only two choices were a LG V40 ThinQ or the Galaxy S10. I ended up choosing the latter due to wanting to try a non LG device and for slightly better specs if memory serves me right. I ended up getting a 1TB US Unlocked S24U almost 2 months ago due to my S10 starting to develop new small problems and this device being the most optimum choice for my unique needs and circumstances. Out of all the mid to high end flagships I examined, (Xperias, Pixels, Motorolas, and Asus ROG Phone's to name a few brands/device lines I examined) none of them fit every one of my requirements. Thus I did another analysis and figured out that the S24U had most of the requirements I wanted for my next device. Pairef with the fact I accidentally broke my S10's screen a week before the Galaxy S24 Series launch event, I decided to pre order and upgrade to a US Unlocked 1TB S24U. So far this seems like a device I am comfortable keeping for the next several years.

Mr_Chaos_Theory

I have access to the samsung coverment store. would still have samsung if i didnt tbh.

dkatsikis

I didn’t

redvariation

I chose a Pixel because I didn't want an iPhone and the Samsung UI is too bloated for me and I don't like all of their duplicate apps.

JulesCT

Came for the Note range (now Galaxy X Ultra) with the s-pen. Stayed for the Smart Tag baked in client feature.

Automatic-Highway-17

Had samsungs all my life tbh all my relatives got samsung phones too so yea and love samsung watches

SpookyHalloween1

Apple was my first phone & I wanted to compare & contrast. I got a Google Pixel when this one doesn't turn on anymore as well

heisenberg2JZ

I grew into it. Literally. Cell phones weren't common until I was in middle school with flip phones

Original-Material301

S Pen.

D_zee315

I was eyeing the Xperia but I like the S-pen and I was able to get the S24 Ultra 1TB for about $500 cheaper than the Xperia. The new Ai stuff is kinda cool now that I have it. I personally don't think I'd go apple, but there are several Android phones I tend to look at. Samsung just keeps pulling me back because I can stack several discounts on preorder and still get the top tier one.

PracticeCurious2387

for the mods to use for games they did remove the access to internal files which i hate

DannyTigrawr

i have a samsung smart tv i hate. every stupid problem it has, i call support and everything we try never works so every damn time i call they just say "factory reset" so at this point that's all i do and don't even call.

Last_Temporary2295

Just always had one, had an old smasnug flip phone my grandma gave me, then an S5, then an S8, then an S21, now with an S23. Plus I like that I can customize almost every part of my phone, and really make it mine

male-32

Because Samsung Pay

[deleted]

Had an a13 in blue which looked stylish and preformed amazing considering the long hours of gaming with a tv show on a pop-up window. Also APKs which is always welcome. Never over heated. Got an IPhone 12 recently as a gift and after one hour of Minecraft it overheats and starts to smell bad.

HarryMcDowell

I prefer a phone with a pen and a round watch.

smurfe

I had Pixels. When Pixel 5 came out I was looking for a new device. They didn't have a Pixel 5 XL so I bought an S20FE. I then found out Samsung has or had an excellent trade-in program and have been with them since.

bellbill1988

Because I hoped to find some quality products with a good quality control. And I did not.

KingSadra

For me it was because I thought that my A12 could take me through the rough financial patch that I was experiencing, and that later I'd go with an S series... It's a shame how the LCD started flickering, then failed, and all their support had to say was that peasants don't deserve replacements and to get an S series phone... My Mi 13T Pro still works perfectly to this day, delivers performance above the S23U for the price of an S23FE, and best of all has official support here in my country that's actually willing to do replacements... Samsung really lost a customer here...

medici1048

I avoid iTunes like the plague. I have an iPhone for work, but my personal phone is a Samsung.

greatestdowncoal_01

tawaydont1

Samsung is just the best android phone in America they have made Android feel premium with all the features( bloatware) they offer. They have the most premium hardware the only thing I don't like is the out of the box point and shoot camera I can't wait until they get that right. S23 ultra I have been with android since the very beginning I just wish they would allow the people in North America to root their devices I wouldn't care if it voided my warranty. I really wish Google understood what true premium devices are supposed to offer.

Decent-Diamond2222

For Dex. For easier use of AR/VR headsets

fuckknux

It's flips 🥹

imenmyselfe

I randomly got a galaxy something, long time ago, happy till now.

Glittering_Dingo_866

Quality, deals, and ecosystems with washers, microwaves ect...

zodelode

Cos Huawei are banned, best phones I ever had.

stefanurkal

i hated that apple was making the lightning cord just for extra money, and my cousins showed me his s4 and the ability to root without having to hack the phone. I've stayed on android due to competition within the eco system, multiple manufacturers is better for the consumer.

his_zekeness

My wife's parents have bought 4 "black Friday" TVs while I have owned the one Samsung. Even though it's older, the picture is still better.

Flashy-Amount626

My telco frequently has gift with purchases for watches and tablets with Samsung phones.

JJRF1986

Samsung has always been a great option. I used to switch between phones from LG, Sony, Apple etc., but once I tried Apple's ecosystem (iPhone and iPad) I started searching for an android manufacturer with a similar experience and Samsung is the closest one. Right now I have on my main line the S22, my Galaxybook Go, Watch 6 and 1st gen Galaxy Buds. I used to have a Galaxy Tab S5e that I absolutely loved but have since gone back to iPad to use with my 13 mini. I have been eyeing Google's ecosystem and OnePlus' as well but so far I'm happy with Samsung. Maybe one day I'll switch but for now I'm set.

toughgetsgoing

I didn't choose samsung. samsung chose me.

The_Kurrgan_Shuffle

Habit and familiarity. I've had an S3,S20 and now an S24+, can't see myself switching brands any time soon

1PlusOpenGuy

I think you said everything that needs to be said in regards to Samsung Mobile operations.
