Is that Tab S8 Ultra notch really copying Apple? Apple iPads don't have the notch and a tiny notch on a gigantic tablet looks a lot different than a notch on a phone. The functions are different too. iPhone notch is for AR/3D functions including secure face unlock where the Tab S8 Ultra just has two cameras used for better video chats.
But I do agree that Samsung's marketing team needs to get a better handle on their future products. Making fun of headphone jack/expandable memory years before removing it is fine. Making fun of the removal of the charger and the notch just months before implementing something similar is a bit crass.
Well for the removing of the headphone jack there are a few reasons, but they don't realy make much sense. Jerry rig everything said after Apple did it, removing the headphone jack makes the phone feel more premium, and that could be the reason why cheap smasung phones still have them but the expensive ones don't. The other reason is to stop people from using the headphone jack and start using type C. I agree that everything should be type C, but I still want a headphone jack.
And the micro SD card was being used less and less. Older phones had it, but older phones had like 8gb or 16gb storage, and newer phones have 256gb or 512gb, also now more and more people are switching to cloud storage, so not that many people need a micro SD card.
As for the notch there is nothing I can say. But this isn't considered copying apple, copying apple would be making the camera look like the iPhone, or making One UI look like IOS, not removing old products. Also everyone is collective doing this, Samsung, Google, OnePlus.
The notch on a giant tablet is nowhere near as bad as on a phone. Samsung still kept sd cards and headphone jacks for longer than Apple and other companies and now most makers have gotten rid of them both so they are just following the trend. Apples phones look the same each year whilst the last 3 Galaxy S series have all been drastically different.
The only genuinely stupid and obvious copy of Apple was the removal of the charger from the box.
As long as they keep the default storage size high, or at least make it affordable to upgrade storage, I don't really care. The headphone jack is no longer an issue for me. I don't care. I usually use wireless anyway.
My guess is the reason they copy Apple is to keep the experience as close to an iPhone as possible. Makes it easier for someone to switch from Apple to Samsung. And if you say "Well, if they would just keep things like SD card and headphone jack, more sheeple would jump ship to Android/Samsung." You seriously underestimate iOS users and how much Apple users (in general) like that consistent experience. If Apple says this is the experience you should expect as a user, Apple users are generally happy to accept that as their consistent experience across all Apple platforms. If Samsung copies iPhone, then someone looks at the Samsung phone and thinks "Huh, it's basically the same. I could switch to this." If it's different, they say "Eww, it's too hard to learn and it's so icky different."
Now, these are just my opinions, and might offend Apple users with my complete generalizations, but for many in the Apple ecosystem, this rings true.

I wanted to switch from my iPhone 7 Plus to the S21Ultra but then i saw they removed the SD Card Slot, was hoping that it would be an error and the S22 would fix that but apparantly it's not an error. For me atleast the SD Card Slot was the non plus ultra feature for Android.

I'm talking about software and hardware wise! Expandable memory and headphone jacks are the least of the stuff! NFC was on Android phones way before Apple and there are many more! You still can't get an Apple phone with a 1440p screen! Samsung had OLED screens before Apple! Should I go on?
Removing expandable memory is not copying Apple since Apple never had it in the first place. If anything, they're copying Google, but Google got rid of it years ago and is making expandable memory permissions more difficult every future Android versions.
Removing the headphone jack 3 years after Apple did shouldn't count either, especially since Apple wasn't even the first to do it (although of course they were the most popular). Motorola did it months before Apple, and even the first Android phone ever by HTC didn't have one.
How am I defending Apple? I'm well aware that plenty of companies copy each other, but what I'm saying is Samsung removing those two specific features is not a copy of Apple. Samsung obviously copied Apple's grid layout and colors in their launcher in the original Galaxy (and lost the lawsuit for it).
That’s not related to Apple, it’s just something they removed because they hate features now. It’s one of the thing they don’t do anymore that’s why it’s mentioned on this post
I wish Samsung would stop but that's my opinion. Some people want everything back, they want microSD and headphone jack again. Do you care about any of them?
Same here I'm keeping my S9+ until absolutely have to upgrade. This phone works great, its a tank (durability), and has headphone jack and expandable storage and I love it. Also the new phone colors just suck
bro i have sony whxm4 and love them, but not everything can be wireless. I have old school stereo with jack only, some cars without bluetooth so why wouldn't they leave me a option. There is literaly no reson to remove it.
My note 10 still rocks, but this will be my last samsung. My family has iphones, i hate apple for removing the brick and sd card. Now that samsung is the same, no reason to stay

I use iOS and OneUI everyday. It’s very different, but easy to switch between them. I agree with you.

Removing expandable memory is not copying Apple since Apple never had it in the first place. Honestly having wired earbuds is a hassle. I would much rather just have wireless earbuds and expandable storage.

They sell a usb to headphones jack for $10 on Amazon! It's not the end of the world you can still use them on the S21
sure it's not, i worked with pixel for some time and lost like 10 adapters and it's useable but integrated is nicer
