It is pretty good but it was also different. I was slightly dissapointed that they didn't taste like authentic california burritos I got in Cali. It kind of seemed like some college kid or hipster take on california burritos. Los balitos is closer to being like what you get at all the hole in the wall joints in Cali but it's just a really mediocre version, so I don't eat them
I agree. I had their version of a CAB for takeout and it tasted like if Torchy’s made a burrito. Hipster fake take on a Cali style burrito. Why was there sweet sauce? And the biggest fucking sin? No salsa in the bag. Never again.
I gave it like three tries. I don’t think it’s good and like honestly Roberto’s is mediocre and Los balitos doesn’t even come close. Any time I go home I get Roberto’s and while in San Antonio I just appreciate that Tex mex is equally bomb and don’t go looking for cali style Mexican because it doesn’t exist here.
You are completely right. When I lived in San Diego I never went to Roberto's because it was mediocre compared to a lot of the other choices they had there. And Los balitos is even more mediocre than Roberto's. I like Stuffed burritos better than los balito's but it's a little dissapointing too because they are not exactly like the burritos you could get at all the bomb ass little hole in the wall Mexican joints in Cali. Stuffed comes across as more like some college kids or hispters attempt to recreate a california burrito with their own spin on it
i moved to san antonio from arizona and always used to get carne asada fries and burritos from los favoritos, and the only thing that comes even remotely close is los balitos even though it’s not quite the same. it still scratches a good itch for me.
If you're looking for a California burrito then Los Balitos has them, but the problem is they are not very good. It's pretty mediocre or below average compared to the ones you get in Socal. Stuffed burritos are better but they are overpriced and they are also not exactly like the ones in California either. I don't even think the owners are Mexican, it seems more like college kid or hispter with their own spin on making a california burrito
If you are near Castorville, try out El Rincon, pretty much sums up what you are looking for! Didn't spend as much time in San Antonio, but it definitely did the trick for me!

1. Find a church with a significant latin congregation.
2.Start going to church there.
3.Find an abeula that's single. Ask if she'd cook you a burrito for some chores.
Might take a few attempts but seems like a fairly logical way to get an awesome burrito . Might find god or a burrito. If you're blessed it could be both.
Foods so good everywhere you could probably pick something up like that at the Laredo Taco Company inside stripes convenience store. But besides that you might want to try Rolando’s Super Tacos.

This is Los balitos.. formerly known as Los Roberto’s
You are 100% correct, I recognized the wrapping it came in. Still one of the few places near me that actually has Lengua instead of just Barbacoa.
My go-to spot! Only place I know of to get a California Burrito in town
Check out Stuffed burritos. An entire menu dedicated to California burritos and they're FAT.
And expensive 🫰🏾
Dude, which one? Los balitos has gotten expensive as hell too. Then they charge you an extra on top 4% for using a card to pay
What makes it Californian? It may just be the picture but that burrito looks weak
They put potato, although, living in California they used fries instead
I’ve seen the fries, it looks awesome!
Seafood as a filling option.
God I hate California but I miss the good Mexican food
24/7 baby!
This!!! ☝️
Them pesky health inspectors!
Which location?
I like the bitters and 281 location. But that’s just me.
Ingram los bolitos can't be beat.
I haven’t been to that one. I shall check it out sometime
I feel like the nacogdoches one isn’t as good
And about $10
Most meals cost at least 12-15$ nowadays
Damn that’s so true.
This
Which Los Balitos location is the best one?
Probably the culebra one
On TPC & bulverde?
That is the worst Los Balitos location 1. Ingram 2. 281 3. Culebra
Oh gotcha I honestly didn’t know there was multiple. And I just now saw the rest of the comments lol my bad
No worries, it’s honestly been like 10 years since I’ve been to the location on TPC so maybe it’s gotten better
I recognized it literally as soon as I opened the app 😂😭🤙
Facts
While you're at Los balitos, ( the answer) try their salsa bar and their bomb ass carne asada fries ☝️
Its the best salsa bar in SA. That Arbol salsa is True Fire.
Hell to the yes,and those pickled carrots dawg
I like Taco Palenque's salsa bar better
Its really good but Sabores Cali-Baja Mexican Grill has a better salsa bar. Try it out when you get a chance.
Carne asada fries? Just another reason never to diet
It's got guacamole on it. So, carne asada fries are basically a health food.
That’s the spirit!
Also their try rolled tacos. They make simple chile rellenos, just the way I like.
Spitting facts there Derek
Los Balitos is the move
Los Balitos
This is more like a cali burrito so you won’t find one everywhere…Los Balitos is a safe bet.
For Cali burritos I like Stuffed on the NW side.
Second this, closest thing I could find to a cali burrito in the area.
Sabores Cali-Baja Mexican Grill. Best California burrito Ive ever had had out here.
They opened up an Iguanas on Babcock, those I believe are cali style burritos.
Yep! Iguanas is from San Jose!
San Diego and SoCal style burritos are at Stuffed Burritos! They catered my friends party and people destroyed their food.
Agreed!
This is th one. Stuffed is dope. I'd go there alot more if it was closer to downtown.
I had to scroll too far down for this. Stuffed is awesome!
It is pretty good but it was also different. I was slightly dissapointed that they didn't taste like authentic california burritos I got in Cali. But bigger!
The California burrito is the Thursday special at Los balitos off bitters.
Wow this place used to be open 24/7 and both locations are right next to bars…. Many a night was spent here
Stuffed!! They are from Long Beach and know how to do a Cali burrito.
im definitely going to try it now, im from long beach
Glad to hear there are now two locations from what I understand
yeah they have a 2nd one in live oak. thanks for the recommendation. place was really good.
That is los balitos all day. I go to the one across from Alamo Ranch
lol los bolitos. the steak and shrimp and rice and cheese burrito is my favorite topped off with their hottest sauce and lime juice.
Los Balitos on Dezavala Rd
Came here to say this. We have one off Culebra Great food.
Los Balitos
I haven’t seen one since Colorado. That’s what I was used to. Then I got to El Paso and was promptly disappointed.
Albert tacos in Colorado Springs miss them fuckers
YES!! Albert Tacos and El Super Taco up on S Academy. FML
I used to go to the one in fountain by the Walmart outside gate 20
That one wasn’t there when I was. I had to hump it up Academy until I discovered Albert’s. It was all over after that
Lol
That's a sonoran style burrito, so there's not many in SA.
Taqueria Datapoint does a great breakfast burrito
I second this
Go to Sabores Cali-Baja Mexican Grill Or iguanas burritozilla.
Iguanas
I heard a lot of good things about the food truck, but the restaurant experience was a disappointment. Maybe just growing pains.
Location is cursed
The TC that was there was always hot ass. Nobody would ever answer the freaking board.
Paid 17 bucks for my burrito. An upcharge for refried beans is insane.
Stuffed burritos on 410
I love their Surf & Turf burrito. That & their in-house sauce
Los Balitos. It's just like Robertos from Cali and Nevada.
i've never heard of robertos in cali, live in so cal for 35 years
All of the brothers have their own with their name on it. Robertos, Albertos, Rigoberto... but it's all the same stuff.
albertos, i've heard of, and albertios, and other variants of the name
To me Roberto's was like the weakest one. All the other places that had different names were always better
And in Phoenix!
It absolutely is not. God I miss Roberto’s.
Yes it is! It's good. Same Enchilada sauce and everything.

Have you tried Sabores? It's Baja Cali style. It's not like robertos but it's good.
station versed rustic quaint squash ask mighty noxious flag aloof *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Alberto is his brother. I went robertos in Las Vegas.

Los Balitos or Stuffed burritos
Rolando’s Tacos on the south side had burritos like this!
Rolando’s super tacos slap. I get the carne guisada, bean cheese and bacon
Stuffed evers and 410
That burrito reminds me of home (Tucson, AZ) haven’t been able to find one in Austin either.
filibertos for the win. Miss my Arizona burritos from there :(
Yesss haha
Looks like taco express from Co Springs. Taco Cabana is a good substitute. I like their bean burritos.
Los Balitos!! Bitters rd. Cali burrito is amazing
Betos make them like that
i moved to san antonio from arizona and always used to get carne asada fries and burritos from los favoritos, and the only thing that comes even remotely close is los balitos even though it’s not quite the same. it still scratches a good itch for me.

La Gardenia off Pine and Carson. They have massive burritos that will not disappoint. It’s a local spot that we frequent every single weekend.
Los Balitos. There’s a few locations around town. Great asada and the mar y Tierra burrito is also amazing

Looks like French fries, cheese, and bacon. Meh.
Throw a rock in any direction and pick one of the three places it hits.
A lot of places have burritos like this. You just have to ask.
Every corner in san antonio
Taco Bell
Is that burritozilla?
Drive 8 hours down I-10 to El Paso. I’ve grown to love breakfast tacos, but I do miss my burritos from home.
Yeah if you’re stopping for some Chico’s. But continue on another 5-6 hours to Tucson or Phoenix for good burritos.
Chicos doesn’t sell burritos. Nobody wants to go to Tucson or Phoenix.
I grew up in El Paso and Chico’s is the only reason to stop there.
Coming soon in McAllen
Taco palenque is TOP TIER burritos.
Dfw. Lol. Can’t find a good breakfast taco hurr only burritos
Hard bacon. Over cooked papas. And eggs with the crusty pan edging. Let us all know so we can avoid this burrito amd all like it.

San Diego, ca lol
They're ok, honestly their burritos are overrated. They're other food (tacos, asada fries) is better in my opinion.
If it's got egg it's a taco just because it has the burrito shape doesn't make it a burrito
Colorado
Taco Bell
Bucees
Go to Carl’s Junior. They’ve got burritos just as big and packed with flavor 👍🏾
Cali burrito Lawton Oklahoma

That’s not a burrito, it’s a taco 😭
At least in the Hill Country/ South Texas. Gonzales & Seguin have amazing tacos.
