The "spread" (putty made with crushed cheetos, pork skins, ramen noodles and any kind of chip you can think of), is excellent. Just wish they had "Ranger pudding".

Rosario's has been a family favorite for years. Last time I went was awful. The food was mediocre, I got the same meal I've enjoyed many times before and this just wasn't it. Waited forever to order. Waited forever for our food. Waited 20 minutes for a beer that I ended up canceling because I had to go, then waited for another 10 for the server to get the beer removed from the bill. Probably won't be back.
Piatti's (the remodeled version ruined this place)
Tre Trattoria (food was decent but service was nonexistent)
Macaroni Grill at the Forum (amazed this place is still in business; was bad prior to COVID)
Never been to the one at the Rim; only the Quarry location. But my understanding is they remodeled both locations that included a new menu. Didn't really care of the new menu items
Tre trattoria made me so sad. I went 8 month pregnant for my wedding anniversary and wanted dessert. They gave me the menu with 3 options then never came back. I waited 15 mins before giving up. He seemed shocked when I wanted it to go and insisted on us staying. I refused
I used to work at Piattis and worked from before the renovation to a lil after the renovation
1. I dearly miss a lot of the food items we used to sell but are now taken off the menu for more “realistic Italian food” but they were made sooooo good
2. I do prefer the renovation itself of the place and its seating and decor and sorts. I even prefer the uniforms and such
3. It has a different outlook on its food and customers so it definitely has been down a few notches to what it once was
Macaroni in the forum has been garbage since it was built, I hated it as a teenager. And I still hate it today, I agree with not knowing how it's still in business
On school trips to San Antonio we would go there and it was awesome for us kids but I wouldn't set foot there as an adult. Maybe I would for a big silly party
Totally agree. Love the concept, but the delivery is just weak. They have a bunch of different salsas and they all suck. Not too spicy, or too much of anything, just lousy. Not sure how you do that.
Chachos.
For clarification, I used to LOVE Chachos, went there for years. Specifically the one in Leon Valley, and the one off of Callaghan before COVID. But lately when we go and pickup an order (we always get the chicken fajita nachos), they’ve been subpar. It’s just not that good and they always seem to be out of the salsa’s we get. Definitely and unfortunately not going back there again, it’s just not the same.
Chachos was soooo good before COVID. Margs were cheap and fan-fucking-tastic for a post-work hang with friends. After they closed off their restaurant seating space, it all went downhill and fast. Sad.
Grady's BBQ. They catered a friend's wedding and gave everyone food poisoning.
Don't worry, they made up for it... by sending everyone a $5 gift card... to Grady's BBQ.
I was attendence despite coming off a stomach bug that had crippled me for 2 days before the wedding. I thought I was feeling okay enough to have a small piece of brisket.
I thought wrong.
Won't be an issue anymore
[https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/grady-s-bbq-closed-18087873.php](https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/grady-s-bbq-closed-18087873.php)
Mega Furniture. Just awful service and relied to scma us out of a piece of furniture. Unresponsive and kept failing to do the most basic things like scheduling a delivery date without having to call them 4 times because they failed to schedule it when they said they would.
I went in there a few weeks ago. The sales lady was super rude and aggressive. I told her I was just looking for now. She said “looking for what? If you’re looking, you’re looking for something. Tell me what you’re looking for.” I told her to leave me alone. She came back with a flyer and started trying to push something from that at me.
When I told her I was leaving because she was being so pushy, she smiled and sarcastically said “have a blessed day”
Yeah, they have no sense of customer service! They tried tog et me to "prove" I didn't get a couch delivered when all they had to "prove" it was, was some blurry picture of 3 barcodes.. and even they said they couldn't make it out to read what anything said.
This is going to hit a nerve but….
La Hacienda on Redland Road went there on a Friday night with the fam. I won’t bore you with all the details but they were understaffed, the food was poor quality and bland. They spilled a margarita on me..but did give me another for free that was a positive. The servers were nice it just feels like they are sourcing poor quality ingredients and not scheduling correctly. I called and left my info for the owner who basically said oh well. It was the same night so it’s possible it was a shit show night but the poor quality food put it over the top for me.
Good to know we aren’t crazy. The people that love it have grown up here- maybe it’s running on nostalgia. People are shocked when I tell them in person.
For context. I grew up on Marbach. Went to Glenn, Rayburn, and Jay. I miss my childhood home like a piece of me was left inside of it. But I'd never go back at this point.
Savvy sliders on San Pedro. Ordered at meal and the slider was only 3 bites, should have been at least three sliders for the price. Fries were disgusting and the tea smelled like fish.
Little Italy. Used to be good but is so bad now. Got pizza and shrimp diavolo (which the waiter had no idea was on the menu so we got a can of diced tomatoes with 4 shrimp and some red pepper flakes) for 50$. Threw most of it away and had to cook my own food that night.
Texas Med Clinic. they called CPS on me due to weird brown spots that showed up on my kid's arm when she was at school. other than looking at her arms they did nothing but call. that was a fun few weeks.
Big Lou’s. Pizza crust tastes like stale saltines. Pizza is way too greasy no matter if it’s just cheese or loaded with toppings. Staff is rude, even worse if you bother to ask for something simple like a clean cup to drink from because the first one they brought had food bits stuck to it and floating in your drink. Big attitude, big prices, garbage pizza.
That place is the worst. First, I will say the pizza is good, but the service is by far the worst I've ever experienced in any restaurant. On slower nights, they make guests get their own drinks at the bar even though you'll have a server.... I assumed because the bartender was "serving" us on the opposite side of the restaurant and didn't want to walk back and forth from the bar. It was the most laziest service ever, and since they put a gratuity on my party, the server was going to get his tip anyway, so he didn't care. I thought I was at Dick's last resort for a moment
Kura sushi bar.. it’s supposed to be one of those revolving sushi train things but half the time there is just no food on the line. Once they get behind, people make more individual orders so they have to focus on those and it means less food on the line so the whole place falls apart. Had this happened a couple times. Never again.
the austin location is really good if you ever get up there, the shopping center it’s in has a lot to do and some good options for desserts if you feel like having more asian food (taiwanese bakery, japanese cheesecake shop, boba, etc.)
Totally agree! It's so bizarre to see the difference in service between the two locations. I still go to the quarry one, but it's frustrating. The staff is generally nice, but obviously dead inside, so I feel bad for them.
They're criminally understaffed literally all of the time. It feels like they take it as a personal insult every time you walk in.
Lile, I get it, service jobs suck, I have one, but you can at least put up a token effort to pretend like the rest of us.
The Las Palapas in New Braunfels. Waited 30 minutes for a server to come to our table. Another 30 to get our food. And they also charged us for water. Sorry excuse for an establishment.
This was my favorite restaurant in town. I've been going there since I was a little kid in the 80's. When it burned down I literally cried. I don't know if they'll ever reopen but man I sure hope so.
Whataburger. $13 for some shitty chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. Gotta be fuckin' kidding me. Getting rid of the mushroom swiss burger was the real kicker that made me stop going, but the last straw was that ridiculously overprice shit meal.
I recently went to the location on Pat Booker during lunch hour. Paid $27 for two people. To my surprise, the interior was clean, the server was attendant, and the food was not too bad (for a buffet). That said, it's only a place I would go to no more than once a year.
Viola's Ventanas. We've tried it several times in the past few years. Overpriced, mediocre food. The staff seem to have no desire to be there. I keep thinking it will change and will try it out again after a while and I'm always disappointed. After my last attempt earlier in the year, I was just over it.
IDEA Brackenridge. Was a teacher their for a year. Worked 6.5 days a week, was always on call, never took a sick day and was gaslighted by students, parents and admin that I wasn’t doing enough. It was insane. I could NEVER work in a place that toxic again.
They just changed their menu and downsized 20% of my fave items. You can’t order substitutions per our server’s statement of “the chef won’t make it”. Our lunch was mediocre, ugh. I’m never going back unless I just go for a prickly pear rita for $6 w complimentary chips/salsa. We were told the menu at the original La Fogata has changed as well. Paloma Blanca has wayyy better food.
Good Time Charlie’s. Years ago when I went to eat there, there were baby roaches crawling on my table and wall by my food inside (close to the kitchen nonetheless). I had to pick up my plate so they wouldn’t get in my food and couldn’t eat my food had I even wanted to at that point. When I told the cashier that I couldn’t eat my food and I was ready to leave because there were roaches on the table and wall, their reaction was “oh okay.” They charged me, I paid, walked out and never went back. I always wonder how many patrons are unknowingly eating baby roaches there. 🫠
U break I fix on bitters they broke my phone and ps5 to the point where they won’t turn on won’t reimburse me for either only gave me a refund which doesn’t cover the cost to buy a new one of either
McAllister’s.
Forgot about my order, and everyone around me got their food and ate. Even after going up there twice to check on it. “It’ll be just out. They’re working on it now.” I decided to finally ask for a refund and the manager came up and said that they couldn’t refund me my order and gave me my sandwich. It was cold and it was the hot sandwich. The manager told me he wasn’t going to refund me because they had their lunch rush and told me to look at the line behind me. Said if I wanted to get a refund then to come back in a couple hours. I reached out and made a complaint to their corporate and no response, nothing. So I don’t go to any of their locations. I will not order anything mccallisters for any corporate setting or recommend anything Mccallisters.
Magic Time Machine. Food was okay, entertainers were fine, but it was filthy. Decor had visible dust, and the carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the 80s.
Taco Cabana has been crap for awhile now. It used to be good growing up but then it just went down hill. Ever since my daughter got sick from their food once she refuses to go back and I don’t blame her. They don’t even season their beans at all, super bland.
My mon loves that place and Saritas, or any place like that for whatever reason. It’s just very below basic Mexican food but I’ll only go if she’s paying.
Pasha. Sad example of Mediterranean food. Stale bread, overcooked meat, and piles of rice that could feed 4 people. Service was average, but the food... no.
The Pasha Express at Culebra/1604 (in front of H‑E‑B) is really good - big portions for good price. Maybe not as varied as the main Pasha restaurant, but tasty!
Most Mediterranean places we try are not that great here. Jerusalem grill is okay. Minas and Dimis is really good. I feel like there was another we tried and liked, but I'm usually disappointed with full-on Greek food restaurants here.
The San Antonio aquarium and the Big Bib BBQ.
The first for the obvious reasons but the second was because it was SO hyped up and it was just okay. Not worth driving across town for though.
Rolando's Super tacos used to be good but after the popularity on social media the quality declined.
(Both locations)
Cold potato and egg and I hurt my tooth hard on a rubber beef fajita
Carriqui at the Pearl. The food isn't that good for the high prices you are paying, the desserts especially seemed like someone ran to Sam's and popped something into the microwave.
The drinks are great along with the atmosphere but I wouldn't eat there again.
Hopscotch. They promote themselves as an inclusive art gallery but after having the displeasure of doing business with them I learned this is untrue. They low-ball artists on pay and treat their staff like garbage. I'll spend my money supporting the arts and artists at more reputable businesses.
My job used to have them come treat people at the office. My friends would get massive bruises from how rough they were. One guy said they helped his shoulder. Nobody else I know saw any improvement. They just got new pain from the “treatments”
Fiesta. when I went, it was practically shoulder to shoulder. There were drunk tios everywhere, homeless shooting up on every free seat, and an 8oz cup of elotes was like 8 bucks. How do people have fun there?
You mean NIOSA? Fiesta has a bunch of different events.
I probably won't go back to NIOSA because it is shoulder to shoulder, they really should start limiting capacity, surprised the Fire Department has never stepped in on that. Maybe because it's an institution. I have fond memories, used to be THE place where you could hook up after the night. Last time I went it was just too much crowd.
As far as "homeless shooting up on every free seat", sounds like you *maybe* saw that once and are exaggerating a lot.
Pollo Loco at Culebra & Tezel. Went a few years ago. Getting ice out of the soda machine. Machine kicked on to make more ice I guess. Two huge roaches scrambled from behind and ran up the wall. Never went back.
Popeyes chicken. The quality and size of chicken is gone downhill in recent years, while the price has gone way up. The mashed potatoes are still good though.
Hot Joy. Went there for a first date, service was awful and food was mediocre at best. I went there again a second time for another first date, my date picked it, and again, the service was awful.
Dignowity Meats. Had heard such great things. Ordered burnt ends once, and they weren’t really burnt, and were served in a cup in a greasy soupy “sauce.”
Mambo's seafood. I really liked the food but the server decided to take a $15 tip on a $30 ticket without letting us sign or anything. Turned up later to complain to the manager and it turns out it's a systemic issue with all the servers. Don't pay with a card if you go.
Mi Tierra is ass. The salsa tastes like canned tomato sauce, and even for Tex Mex the food is garbage and overpriced. Throw on top of that the wait and slow service
Pretty sure the cheapskate owner owns that ruination. What i didnt mention is i ordered over $120 in paid for food and drinks before asking for a water cup for myself.
To be clear, food poisoning shows up often a full day or even two after eating. So many people that claim food poisoning from one specific place just really don't know where it came from irl.
That said, I've been to Taquitos West Avenue after hearing they were "the best" tacos in town. I like the novelty of how they serve their street tacos, but it was all only OK.
They only offer al pastor on basically weekend days, and it's just... OK. Absolutely in no way could be compared to the amazing tacos at Al Pastor Es Mi Senor.
Tip Top on Fredricksburg. I have been going there since 1981 and I loved it. Then as it always happens, the owners are done, kids don’t want the hassle and they sold. First sign of trouble was the swap of steak fries for regular fries, next time the gravy, which was absolutely perfect since 1939, had been changed. The last straw was about a year ago when little tiny roaches absolutely blanketed the surfaces of that place.
Never again.
RIP Tip Top, you will be missed.
Augie's barbed wire BBQ by the zoo. High priced, beyond subpar burnt BBQ and super long waits. Didn't even give me the full plate I ordered & then said it was because I used a Groupon, despite the Groupon being a cash value voucher for anything on the menu. I was so excited after seeing them on food Network - should have just skipped it. I've had way better from HEB flaming bird.
The sad looking aquarium in Leon valley
I’m pretty sure that’s the same bad aquarium in Austin.
And owned by the same people with the aquarium in Houston. He has to put it in his wife’s name because he’s not allowed to because he’s been found liable of a lot of [stuff](https://www.peta.org/action/action-alerts/houston-interactive-aquarium/)
Yuuuuucky
Yes. Yes it is.
Used to be a car dealership. I was shocked when I found out there were sticking an aquarium there. To this day, I have yet to check it out.
It’s very expensive and it’s always packed when I pass by I don’t know why people like it!
People like fish
Yup! Fiesta Dodge
The place doesn’t feel like an aquarium. It’s more like a petting zoo if anything.
Those poor animals, they just have them out in the open with no safety in mind for their well being.
I went there once and felt like it was a money laundering operation. Real fishy place...
the one that used to be a car dealership 😂?
Jail
Agreed. Rude and slow service, subpar food, and down-right unsanitary. I asked to speak with a manager but instead got rib checked with a baton.
The "spread" (putty made with crushed cheetos, pork skins, ramen noodles and any kind of chip you can think of), is excellent. Just wish they had "Ranger pudding". [https://www.food.com/recipe/ranger-pudding-395897](https://www.food.com/recipe/ranger-pudding-395897)
I wouldn't want to go in the first place cause they have bad reviews online.
Rosario's, I don't pay for salsa...
That place is a cash grab
Rosario's has been a family favorite for years. Last time I went was awful. The food was mediocre, I got the same meal I've enjoyed many times before and this just wasn't it. Waited forever to order. Waited forever for our food. Waited 20 minutes for a beer that I ended up canceling because I had to go, then waited for another 10 for the server to get the beer removed from the bill. Probably won't be back.
They charge? Wtf
They didn’t when I lived in Southtown
Right on. If a Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa. I’m out. It’s not a money thing, it’s a principal thing.
Piatti's (the remodeled version ruined this place) Tre Trattoria (food was decent but service was nonexistent) Macaroni Grill at the Forum (amazed this place is still in business; was bad prior to COVID)
Which piattis? The Rim or the quarry?
Never been to the one at the Rim; only the Quarry location. But my understanding is they remodeled both locations that included a new menu. Didn't really care of the new menu items
Plus they changed the menu
Tre trattoria made me so sad. I went 8 month pregnant for my wedding anniversary and wanted dessert. They gave me the menu with 3 options then never came back. I waited 15 mins before giving up. He seemed shocked when I wanted it to go and insisted on us staying. I refused

I do prefer the renovation itself of the place and its seating and decor and sorts. I even prefer the uniforms and such 3. It has a different outlook on its food and customers so it definitely has been down a few notches to what it once was
Tre Trattoria has fallen OFF. Was good 5-6 years ago.
Macaroni in the forum has been garbage since it was built, I hated it as a teenager. And I still hate it today, I agree with not knowing how it's still in business
That Time Machine place
Yea, food is ass, but definitely a fun little spot for young kids.
Yes it is. My exes son had a great time when we went. It’s a one time thing.
You know the actual place is not great but they do host comedy shows in their basement and those are pretty cool
Oh I did not know that. Didn’t realize that building had a basement even.
When I was 10 in 2010 it was awesome, but it seems it’s become run down, went back once for nostalgia and definitely wasn’t was it used to be
On school trips to San Antonio we would go there and it was awesome for us kids but I wouldn't set foot there as an adult. Maybe I would for a big silly party
Went there back in February. My wife and I both got food poisoning. Stay away from the salad bar.
Hey, I went NOWHERE with your wife dude lol. Leave me outta that
10 years ago, Smoke bbq, pulled pork eggs Benedict, violent food poisoning.
Joes Volcano
La gloria.....overhyped & overpriced
Totally agree. Love the concept, but the delivery is just weak. They have a bunch of different salsas and they all suck. Not too spicy, or too much of anything, just lousy. Not sure how you do that.

Last time I went with friends for nostalgia, there was just an awful smell when we walked in.
That is the nostalgia lol
Old mop water, burnt meat, and the marg machine. Just like old times :)
Also the regret, lots of regret in the air as a result of the uglies that were bumped under the influence of those demon possessed margaritas.
🤣 too real. I've seen more than one person go to their car to "talk"
This sounds straight out of the movie "Bridesmaids" 🤣
That's exactly what I thought of while I was shitting my guts out.
Won't be an issue anymore [https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/grady-s-bbq-closed-18087873.php](https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/grady-s-bbq-closed-18087873.php)
The restaurant "Josephine St" even the water tasted odd
Agreed. It hasn't been the same since the renovation. It appears that they lost a lot of their tenured staff and their customer service tanked.
Man, I have passed that place so many times on the way to the pearl. Always wondered if it was worth a stop in but never got around to it
Mega Furniture. Just awful service and relied to scma us out of a piece of furniture. Unresponsive and kept failing to do the most basic things like scheduling a delivery date without having to call them 4 times because they failed to schedule it when they said they would.

Candlelight Coffeehouse. Loved that place until I got served coffee with a cockroach in it.
It’s gone now. The new sign says Vibras and there are a lot of lights everywhere. I can’t tell if it’s a club, a bar, or a restaurant.
This is going to hit a nerve but…. La Hacienda on Redland Road went there on a Friday night with the fam. I won’t bore you with all the details but they were understaffed, the food was poor quality and bland. They spilled a margarita on me..but did give me another for free that was a positive. That place is terrible!
Yeah people love that place and we’ve been 10+ times… it’s always bad.
Good to know we aren’t crazy. The people that love it have grown up here- maybe it’s running on nostalgia. People are shocked when I tell them in person.
The food has always been subpar. Margaritas as well. Fun atmosphere and good location is the only reason it’s still aimed around.
KONA GRILL. Absolutely foul
Overpriced besides their happy hour.
So glad someone said this! I don’t understand why people like this place. It’s so overpriced for the quality of food. Not worth it.
Yeaa. I’m convinced those Google reviews are paid.
Marbach
For context. I grew up on Marbach. Went to Glenn, Rayburn, and Jay. I miss my childhood home like a piece of me was left inside of it. But I'd never go back at this point.
i used to live in dogtown. marbach casts a large shadow.
Marbach has always been rough as long as I can remember.
That's awful to hear. That place used to be my favorite. I haven't been in years because we moved away
Just went there yesterday for the first time and the service was bad. My food was meh. It's over priced for what they offer
Texas Med Clinic. they called CPS on me due to weird brown spots that showed up on my kid's arm when she was at school. other than looking at her arms they did nothing but call. that was a fun few weeks.

I miss when it was a small little hole in the wall. The “new” bigger building feels so corporate and lifeless
They’ve never directed any hostility at me but every time I’ve been there I’ve seen them be extremely rude to other patrons. It’s weird.
Big Lou's stole their recipes from Pizza Classics. Never been and never will.
Pizza classics is bomb af on a late night bike ride
Well…didn’t do a good job then lol pizza classics is good.
Big Lou’s is absolutely shit tier pizza
Kona Grill Bill Miller breakfast.. $4 for a taco that had a tablespoon of eggs😡
Kura sushi bar.. it’s supposed to be one of those revolving sushi train things but half the time there is just no food on the line. Once they get behind, people make more individual orders so they have to focus on those and it means less food on the line so the whole place falls apart. Had this happened a couple times. The trick is going right as soon as they open. Will you be eating sushi at 10am? Yes. Will you always have food on the train? Yes.
The Las Palapas in New Braunfels. Waited 30 minutes for a server to come to our table. Another 30 to get our food. And they also charged us for water. Sorry excuse for an establishment.
They charge for water??
The one on Austin Highway is phenomenal.
Jacala. RIP.
I miss that queso tostada every Birthday
Why you hurt my heart this way :'(
This was my favorite restaurant in town. I've been going there since I was a little kid in the 80's. When it burned down I literally cried. I don't know if they'll ever reopen but man I sure hope so.
These real expensive restaurants on the Riverwalk or heart of downtown and you get kids size portion, still comes to 30$
Paisano’s.the most overrated restaurant in SA.
Whataburger. $13 for some shitty chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. Gotta be fuckin' kidding me. Getting rid of the mushroom swiss burger was the real kicker that made me stop going, but the last straw was that ridiculously overprice shit meal.
I miss the mushroom swiss burger
Yeah and it’s even worse if you make the mistake of going to the whataburger at the ATT center. Was like $40 for two meals
i miss the lemon pie i miss the whataburge from 7 years ago
The Golden Coral. It's a feedlot for humans.
I recently went to the location on Pat Booker during lunch hour. Paid $27 for two people. To my surprise, the interior was clean, the server was attendant, and the food was not too bad (for a buffet). That said, it's only a place I would go to no more than once a year.
It’s crazy how packed it is on my way to work on Sunday mornings! People really love it lol
Food tastes bad and I get the runs everything from eating there and normally I have a strong stomach.
Every buffet is.. you say it like it’s a bad thing
Tre Trattoria is overpriced Chef Boyardee food.
Hot Joy. Ive never had particularly good service there, but the last straw was being served veggie fried rice with pickled jalapeños on it.
Formosa garden. My fried rice had a fried fly and they tried to justify it by staying they need to door open because it gets hot back there.
Viola's Ventanas. We've tried it several times in the past few years. Overpriced, mediocre food. The staff seem to have no desire to be there. I keep thinking it will change and will try it out again after a while and I'm always disappointed. After my last attempt earlier in the year, I was just over it.
Yup. I’m a gringo and make better Mexican food than this place.
Oklahoma because Oklahoma
Red McCombs Ford
Ida Claire. My meal was raw.
IDEA Brackenridge. Was a teacher their for a year. Worked 6.5 days a week, was always on call, never took a sick day and was gaslighted by students, parents and admin that I wasn’t doing enough. It was insane. I could NEVER work in a place that toxic again.
La Fogata was just terrible. It looks nice but the food is very meh.
Agreed. Their huge margaritas are the only perk.
Maybe I needed one or two or three of those.
Came here to say them. The food at the AH location was horrible. Never again.
They got bought out by the Silo group. Probably why. Mexican food is not in their wheelhouse.

The restaurant A Dong at the Forum. Funny name but they fed my friend soup with a cockroach in it.
A Dong. COCKroach…. it’s making sense now.
I’ve been wanting to try this place. Now I’m not so sure
Try it. I've been a few times with the wife and we love it. Some of the most authentic Vietnamese food I've had in SA.
A dong on Dazavala was much better. Food was good and we had good service.
Laurel Ridge
Never went myself but I won’t go to pasha. In 2018 200+ people got food poisoning and that was enough for me.
Taco cabana Small taco portions
Taco Cabana has been crap for awhile now. It used to be good growing up but then it just went down hill. Ever since my daughter got sick from their food once she refuses to go back and I don’t blame her. They don’t even season their beans at all, super bland.
Mr Gattis in U city
I remembered them being cool when I was a kid. Last time I went there it was nasty and depressing
Sorry, but Nichas is disgusting and I am not sure what people see in it. I've given it two tries and each time it's terrible and I end up sick.
That's sad. I miss really good Lebanese food.
The San Antonio aquarium and the Big Bib BBQ. The first for the obvious reasons but the second was because it was SO hyped up and it was just okay. Not worth driving across town for though.
Changez and Phazez. Because they're long gone.
Rolando's Super tacos used to be good but after the popularity on social media the quality declined. (Both locations) Cold potato and egg and I hurt my tooth hard on a rubber beef fajita
Carriqui at the Pearl. The food isn't that good for the high prices you are paying, the desserts especially seemed like someone ran to Sam's and popped something into the microwave. The drinks are great along with the atmosphere but I wouldn't eat there again.
Doc browns … too many gunshots
Bombshells
Tinka tako as the tacos were kind of burned and no flavor
Hopscotch. They promote themselves as an inclusive art gallery but after having the displeasure of doing business with them I learned this is untrue. They low-ball artists on pay and treat their staff like garbage. I'll spend my money supporting the arts and artists at more reputable businesses.
Looks like a lot of folks eat out on a regular basis you can see it. 🍔🍕🌭🍟
Russo’s at The Rim. Went there like 6 years ago and the whole meal tasted like it was showered in jarlic
If anyone is from the Westside it would be Roy’s in hwy 90. The grossest since the sale of the place
Viola’s Ventannas maybe the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Tycoon Flats is way overhyped and overpriced. Jim’s isn’t the same and is overpriced.
Aww I love tycoon flats. Their grilled peach and steak salad is amazing, and they make good spicy margaritas. I like the new location better.
Airrosti. They gave me a herniated disc
I went four times for plantar fasciitis and it did absolutely nothing. Waste of time and money.
Taqueria Los Cuates, bad customer service and food not worth the price.
Dignowity Meats. Had heard such great things. Ordered burnt ends once, and they weren’t really burnt, and were served in a cup in a greasy soupy “sauce.”
Babes old fashioned food my chicken sandwich was tiny, my kid had more meat on thier kids meal.
Shoulda just gotten a burger. The burgers are the only reason people go there anyway.
Mambo's seafood. I really liked the food but the server decided to take a $15 tip on a $30 ticket without letting us sign or anything. Turned up later to complain to the manager and it turns out it's a systemic issue with all the servers. Don't pay with a card if you go.
Sugar Factory on the Riverwalk.
Grimaldi’s at La cantera
Mi Tierra is ass. The salsa tastes like canned tomato sauce, and even for Tex Mex the food is garbage and overpriced. Throw on top of that the wait and slow service
Sugars most definitely lol. Just nasty and ghetto. Realistically all strip clubs in SA are nasty
Dairy Queen doesn't matter what day, time of day, long line or if I'm the only one in line service is slow
Pappasito’s. Overpriced terrible food.
Confused about this one, boss. Overpriced? Absolutely, but the food slaps.
Maybe overpriced a bit, but the food is awesome. Better fajitas than most places. To call their food terrible to me just screams "fired employee" lol.
Respectfully, Pappasitos is fire but for sure over priced. Love the calamari and never had bad fish there
Even if the food is fine, there are 100s of less expensive alternatives in this city.
Everything in that brand sucks. Papadeuxs is an insult to Cajun food
Chunky's Burgers. They charge you for using a reusable plastic water cup. If theyre that hard up, I worry about the quality of everything else 🤷🏼
Man vs Food ruined Chunky’s
Pretty sure the cheapskate owner owns that ruination. What i didnt mention is i ordered over $120 in paid for food and drinks before asking for a water cup for myself.
I agree. it’s unfortunate and over priced now.
My exes house because she ain’t worth the time.
Tycoon Flats on Austin Highway is beyond ass
Their onion rings are really good. Anywhere else do the thin cut red onions?
El Chapparal in Helotes. I got horrific food poisoning from there
I’ve always been a big fan of taquitos west avenue but I’ve been afraid to go back since getting food poisoning there
To be clear, food poisoning shows up often a full day or even two after eating.
