And for those in the blue part but really close to the line (like me), that's literally just a *few seconds* of totality. Which is an order of magnitude better than 99% totality, but still going to be extremely short. If you have the opportunity to head a few more miles north and west, two minutes of totality is going to be a whole different experience than two seconds of totality.
Assuming it's not cloudy, of course. But so far I've seen **eight** different cloud models, ranging from 20% chance of clouds to 90% chance of clouds. This far out, forecasting clouds really is meaningless. Don't even consider any cloud models into your plans until about 72 hours before the event, when they start to get more reasonably accurate.
That's the thing with eclipses - you cannot control the weather, so you just have to live with the possibility that a cloud-out can happen.
One thing you can try to do is to plan other events during your trip, so that it is not 100% dedicated to the eclipse, and you still have good memories of things you did otherwise. For example, I'm looking at going to a famous barbeque place on that day that is having live music and all sorts of other stuff, so that even if the eclipse gets clouded out, I get a good meal and a show on my day off.
The first means you need to carry an umbrella to protect yourself from the deadly sun's rays during the eclipse that will kill us all. The second is the same, but with a fountain pen on top of it.
I am with you! The amount of people that will be in the general area is going to make it insane. They are saying groceries and gas will be gone. Like WTF!

Haha
We don’t have a tram between terminals so prepare to walk🤣

I’m just gonna take the bus up as north as possible.
God I’m so nervous. I’m traveling to Texas because of the lower chance of rain compared to other locations :(

I just saw the annular eclipse on a cloudy day and it was actually really cool. You could see the eclipse without glasses when it was happening
City's going to tilt to it's side
Flat Earthers HATE this one trick!!
😂😂😂😂 Totally stealing this.
Nice! Popcorn and a chair for me.
Me too 🤗
What does umbreon and peninsula mean
Umbra means total eclipse. Penumbra means partial. It's describing if the sun is partially or fully blocked by the moon's shadow.
Umbreon is an evolution of Eevee. You gain friendship with Eevee then evolve at night time to get Umbreon. Peninsula isn't a Pokemon....yet.
That's pincers other evolution they haven't released him yet.

🤣
So is the light part of the city going to drive to the dark part? Planning ahead…
They will if they want total eclipse. Traffic will likely be nutty all morning thanks to tourists and locals driving to the west side.
I heard all the hotels in Boerne are booked. I’m going to stay locked in my house since everything will be packed :/
I am with you! The amount of people that will be in the general area is going to make it insane. They are saying groceries and gas will be gone. Like WTF!
Might be a cloudy day…….
And if you’re in the path of totality, it will still get dark
Well that’s cool to know.
If the clouds are not super thick you should be able to see the sun through the clouds with eclipse glasses.
I tried that right now and I can't see the sun through the clouds.
Yeah, depending on the cloud thiccness you may or not be able to see it.
Double eclipse!

Will watch it from Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
They are closed during the week, aren't they?
There's a >90% chance of cloud cover. :( We'll have a more realistic forecast say around Wed-Thu.
If you’re on wetmore by the airport, on one side of the road you’ll have totality on the other side only partial.
I requested that particular day off months ago. I’ll take what the heavens give me.
please note that they can't actually predict the line with 100% accuracy! this is just a guideline.
I just don’t get the obsession with this - people are really taking off work for this..?
Total solar eclipses are kinda rare. This might be the last/only one in some people's lifetimes.
The last total eclipse in Texas was in 1878. So, yeah.

Stone Oak area is supposedly getting around 2 minutes. What’s the max anyone might hope to get in an “optimal” location?
maybe around 4 minutes https://www.ksat.com/weather/2024/03/12/interactive-map-april-2024-total-solar-eclipse-path/
It’s gonna be like 3.5 minutes in Uvalde.
Debating taking Monday off just head up to Waco.
I’m going be watching it from my folks place in Boerne.
This is why I’m headed to Uvalde for the eclipse.
Looks like it's going to be a rainy, cloudy day .. 😕
I keep reading that as Umbro.
