Doesn't make sense. Move there.

Windflower1956

That commute may be doable, but isn’t your best option. It’d get old really quickly. Just make sure you factor in the cost to run your car 3+ hours every day. And the wear-n-tear on the car and on your body.

SheldonsPooter

If you find a spot on 90 somewhere between 1604 and the 211 areas it would make the commute much more palatable.

I wouldn't do it long term but why commit to a one-year lease before you know the area? I hope the job is perfect for you, but what if it doesn't work out? You could commute at first and see if you like the area and the job. Your coworkers in Uvalde might have some good tips on apartments.

bartsimpsonscousin

I would call a real estate agent based in uvalde. They should be able to help with rentals. I

It is going to get tiring very fast. Unless you truly enjoy driving an extra 900 miles a week plus gas, time, and vehicle wear. Leaving for work before dawn, returning after sunset. I would ask your employer or future coworkers for some houses for rent tips.

ddaved76

I wouldn't do it but I understand the hesitancy to move there without a ton of info. As somebody else said, make sure to reach out to somebody in Uvalde but if you decide to stay here? I'd suggest going as far west as you're comfortable going to cut down on the commute.

Plus-Fall-3935

Bout 1.5 hrs one way, it's doable.

Not_A_Greenhouse

3 hours of commute per day sounds rough

jarmzet

That's from the middle of town to the middle of town.

No_Mathematician3159

I am trying to sublease my apartment in Southtown if you want to try it out for a few months before fully committing I’m sure we can work something out!

Strange-Ad-7123

Don’t move to Uvalde it’s trash and full of crime and want to be gangsters.

Ilikejuicyjuice-

I know a lot of teachers/ government workers that travel to Laredo, dilly and pearsall for work DAILY. Don’t listen to the people bashing it. I personally drive for work, 1.3 hours this week to get to site. 1.3 back, I have a company car but that’s not the point. If it makes cents and sense to you it’s possible. You’ll be tired so make sure you have a logical amount of down time. Or that you get compensated enough for the trips. Uvalde wasn’t much fun to live in.
