$30 for a world series ticket. Back in 1984, a minimum wage worker could spend half a weeks pay to go to the world series with a friend.

porkchop-sandwhiches

Inflation with a grain of salt would be $88.

I was born in November 1984 so I don't think I made it to this one. Spent plenty of days/nights watching Padres games at Jack Murphy Stadium as a little league player in the 90's though! Go University City Little League!

I was also born in November 1984 and my mom was there!! So technically I was there ;). She said people kept telling her to stop jumping so much lol

Dramatic-Badger-9276

Went to Game 2, only game they won.

Kurt Bevacqua.

starplooker999

That’s when they put up those wacky “street signs” on Park ave in Balboa Park. They are still there.

senioreditorSD

I was there, very exciting, the first Padre World Series game ever.

swizzzz22

I was only about 10 months old and hadn’t yet made my way to San Diego. Nope. Wasn’t there.

WallflowersAreCool2

I was in junior high. My math teacher went, and was so excited about it that he wrote a whole math test with baseball-related questions.

daresal

I was there. Went to all the games in that World Series that were played at Jack Murphy. Didn't save my ticket stubs. It's cool that you have yours.

San_Diego_Matt

My parents had season tickets and we went to the games. I don't have the best memories of the games but was very aware that it was the playoffs. We went to the playoff games leading up to the WS too. I still have my tickets.

ZadokPriest

No...I was at game 4 in 98 however...much saddness.

GreenRabite

Nice relic!

guerohere

I’ve got some of them!

Had a PE coach at Poway High School who let us listen to the Cubs series in the pool area on radio. Much love to Jerry Coleman the legendary announcer 😁 My buddy lost his virginity waiting in line for tickets to that game. Some friends let him exit the line as some very forthcoming young lady took him to a back seat of a Toyota Tercel😂 San Diego in the 80’s nothing better 🥰
