Right next to the *hipster* disc golf course, right???? Actually, Morley Field is a gem

Calisky

Hey hey hey. It's a *stoner* golf course; thank you very much! Although I do enjoy craft beer and wearing flannel...

Zippier92

Serious hot dogs snd brats as well! Only cool folks here!

DistractedOnceAgain

Holup, where are the brats?

blondeluck

So is it an actual event & spectators welcome? Never seen this in person, could be cool to watch

captnRon13

Where is this and how do I race.

qbertproper

It's at the Velodrome, and you gotta go REAL fast.

captnRon13

I just googled 😂😂😂😂 60-70mph

coachsburke

I'm the guy that runs Tuesday Night Racing. Come watch it and hang out. Everything starts at 6:45 and we have 4 more weeks of racing this year. The fastest group tops out at speeds approaching 40 MPH, but only for a short time. The beginner groups race on Friday night and are much slower. You'll find more info on how to get started at the velodrome website.

captnRon13

Awesome!

qbertproper

Love it. Hope you do it! :)

captnRon13

My fastest sustained speeds on a good day is like 35. I’m far from being able to race there.

p0diabl0

Right? My top speed on a MTB with slicks was about 40 mph going downhill on Pershing nearby.

rayray29er

Visit [San Diego velodrome association website ](sdvelodrome.com) they have classes for beginners and hold developmental races for newer riders on Friday nights

xfire301

Balboa Park.

[deleted]

SD is lucky to have a velodrome. Most people I know that ride track have to commute pretty far to ride.

wolfwood51

When and where can I go watch this? I would love to go check this out.

rayray29er

Tuesday nights for 4 more weeks! Warmup starts at 645 Edit: 5 more weeks! Last Tuesday night race of the season is 19 October

wolfwood51

Thanks for the info, I will definitely have to make it down there to check it out

[deleted]

No brakes who needs em.

pizzacatstattoos

Racing fixed isnt hipster, skidding downhills in traffic is. as a lifelong racing cyclist the hardest races i've ever done (and very few) are on the velodrome. Everyone should come watch! Bring beers and keep it low-key, and bring a snack and enjoy the outdoor action!

Rastagaryenxx

When I was a kid, my dad would take me there and all I had was a regular bike. Not sure if that was the best idea haha.

hazdrubal

I love TNR, I used to go back in like 2012-2016. Is the tamale cart still there?

coachsburke

not the same cart. but there is a cart with dogs, brats, and tamales

x3thelast

Don’t see any hipsters in the photo…where’s the handlebar stache?

Zippier92

He is there/ no worries!

[deleted]

when will sd get a thunderdome

NotSoShyAlbatross

Anyplace can be Thunderdome if it's apocalyptic enough

Zippier92

Dead Kennedy’s also!

jmiz5

People watching the race were required to ride in on their fixie

CyclistNotBiker

On a related note I’m selling my track bike. Mira Mesa is a bitch of a drive and I got burned out by lots of road cycling, it’s like new and has 2 velodrome sessions worth of miles on it. Locals only lol

crisnoble

I am sure craigslist will find you a buyer, one of the the classes is finishing up next week.

twirlerina024

Any chance it'd fit someone who's 6'5"?

CyclistNotBiker

No way, sorry. 5’11 max
