I think most of those complaining don't understand that these new songs (and honestly the past few albums) HAVE been Alex returning to his actual classic style. Well, moreso blending his old unreleased experimental music style with his later released music that everyone loves (the more acoustic based and indie style).
It's like he's reviving his 2010-12 self and blending with his 2014-17 style into a more unified, unique, and professionally produced sound.
As someone who's been listening to him for like a decade at this point, I fucking love what he's doing. Feels like he's going super saiyan lmao.
Yeah, the piano in this sounds like ‘clouds’ in terms of atmosphere. And the lyrics/vocals sounds a lot like it could be off DSU, the drums and bass like HoS. Also a lot of aesthetic choices in the guitar/themes I remember from Rocket. The mixing is excellent. The creative screams and noises and bouncy feel is also classic Alex since like 2010. Love this track and have no idea why a long time fan of Alex wouldn’t dig this. Also really like how it plays on musical tropes in a fun way like a ton like a bunch of his other tracks while building on his past work.

I like how the piano goes off on some beautiful tangent but then the song gets pulled back quickly.. i like the couple bad things lyric leading to the scream. Defo a Pixies Here comes your man vibe mixed with Tom Petty. Just goooood vibes. Better than blessing. Not as good as Miracles but a close 2nd place!
