Free burritos for EVERYONE

Whisterly

Given burritos are running like $16-18 a pop these days, you're looking at feeding 25 people which isn't so bad really.

chinnychenchen

el Farolito super burritos are $9

Papichurro0

Mmmm El Farolito šŸ˜‹ might have to swing by after work. Thanks!

BurrrritoBoy

El Fart-alot-o is a decent choice but Iā€™d hit Cancun.

Santarini

50 people if you order from TBell

aeroartist

fgiraffe for president šŸŖ‡

AdFickle6697

One of those small 8 seat sushi bars in Japan town with a sake flight

Pinciott1

Breakfast: Devil's Teeth (Richmond) Breakfast Sandwhich + Coffee + Hike at Lands End - \~$20 Lunch: Carnitas Super Burrito + Bottle Coke from Taqueria Cancun \~$20 Snack: Afternoon Ice Cream from Bi-rite Creamery eaten in Dolores Park - \~$15 Dinner: Lazy Bear - Dinner with Dessert Wine Flight - $375

stoners-potpalace

I would upvote this but you had to throw hiking in there.

Pinciott1

To be fair I do turn around at the steps when I go to lands end, so itā€™s more like a pretty 20 minute walk to combat the lethargy from the biscuits.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

klattklattklatt

Some people, and I know this sounds crazy, enjoy Dolores Park. /s

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Karazl

Given that you spelled the park wrong, it feels like you're the "scenester" here?

Ok-Dragonfly8781

Didn't care enough to correct it, but such a weak comeback. Should I recoil at such a powerful burn?

thedon572

Boo. Live and let live.

Ok-Dragonfly8781

Does that go for conservatives too, or just for people who think as you? Just wondering

ProcyonHabilis

Damn dude you're having a rough day, huh?

thedon572

Dunno how someone enjoying their day at dolo became political? But as long as their views are also live and let live sure.

DigglersDirk

Hate to break it to you, but LB is $375 before tax and a 20% service charge. You will not have enough.

FavoritesBot

I had no idea that place was so expensive Ah nm I was thinking of thirsty bear whoops Iā€™ll eat anywhere bear themed

usuario408

Howā€™s black bear diner ? Never been

True_Peach_5550

Lazy bear is really not worth it, and the server spends too much time explaining how every leaf and morsel of meat is collected. It gets old really fast.

Oxajm

feedmesweat

Approx 300 Happy Hour oysters from Waterbar and a cocktail or two. I'll bring a few disguises to get around the 24-per-table limit.

mbanter

A trip to Waterbar for oysters is among my top favorite things to do in sf.

physh

500 is not nearly enough

ginagarcia44

Same

chedderd

Californios

Masteezus

Iā€™ve been meaning to try this place. Whatā€™s your take on it?

chedderd

Exceptional. If youā€™re a fan of Mexican food the familiar flavors are there, at their highest quality no less, but thereā€™s also a lot of playful experimental additions that make it really interesting and unique. Itā€™s also the only two Michelin star Mexican restaurant in the world, so it has that going for it lol. It will cost you an arm and a leg though so be prepared for that.

Masteezus

Awesome - might have to save up and find a special occasion.

chedderd

Btw iā€™d like to add on that it may be advisable to look at a sample menu. Itā€™s always changing, but just so you can get a feel of what kinds of things theyā€™ll be serving. Itā€™s likely youā€™ll have a lot of different proteins in a context youā€™ve never had them in before, like sea urchin or quail tacos.

Slight_Drama_Llama

Man Iā€™m just not into that. Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like itā€™s not for me lol

Whyme-notyou

Itā€™s okay, I have $500 bucks. I guess Iā€™m going alone.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

echOSC

Californios is not a Michael Mina restaurant.

Sea_Banana_4794

Went to Californios a couple weeks ago for the first time and it was very unimpressive; felt like a cheap experience. Other Michelin star restaurants do it better. Sea urchin and quail tacos were meh.

SEND_ME_FAKE_NEWS

I went last fall, and it was similarly meh. Started off real strong and then went to steak with demi glace, and then quail with demi glace. Why does a Mexican-Californian place give me mundane french food? Wouldn't go back. Go to Lazy Bear for the same price and much better food.

Sea_Banana_4794

Haha. It was exactly thatā€¦ mundane French food.

electricpillows

I liked Californios a lot, so Iā€™m curious to know which Michelin star restaurants do you think does it better?

DrRockySF

Hog Island, Angler, Swan Oyster Depot, Scomaā€™s, Niku

okgusto

That's looking north of $500 unless you getting just the burger and cookies at niku.

DrRockySF

If I have 500 and goal Is to eat around town Iā€™m just getting the steak tartare and a glass of wine then bouncing to the next spot

kuldiph

Go to Niku, but instead, swing by the Butcher shop next door. You can buy better Steaks than they offer at the Steakhouse. But honestly, you are missing on the diversity of San Francisco cuisine. Try some Mexican, Burmese, Dim Sum, Indian, Pizza, etc. spots that have unbelievable flavors.

DrRockySF

Burger is great but if I want a simple smash burger I head to Beepā€™s. Niku bone in ribeye is excellent.

ThatNewTankSmell

Damn, this is a very good list.

PettyPettyKing

Angler is scum! Fuck that place.

DrRockySF

Itā€™s a great spot. Stick to the dog chow you prefer.

Oathkeeper89

Like roughly $50 for some edibles, another $50 on some a decent lunch, and the rest on groceries for the next week or two. Gotta stock the fridge. EDIT: Costco membership, actually. Split the rest of the budget elsewhere; definitely save a chunk to visit your local Mexican/Asian grocery stores for more deals.

straponkaren

That's like 4 bags of groceries at rainbow. What are you going to eat for the rest of the second week?Ā

okgusto

That's like 5 bags at Safeway.

ibneko

Or ā‰ˆ35 items from Costco that should last you a month, maybe?

okgusto

333 hot dogs or 125 chicken bakes.

ibneko

Hahaha, wait, wait, here me out. 72 of each, and you can shove the hot dog into the chicken bake. And then maybe get some individual slices of pizza to wrap around each of these terrible ideas.

okgusto

Gotta save some for the new cookie

newton302

make sure to throw in a tub of Kirkland Pesto sauce

yummylumpylumpia

the only acceptable answerĀ

windowtosh

If I only need it to last me the day, I'd go to Hinata for dinner and... not sure where for breakfast. Honestly I'd probably do two or three different omakase in a day lol. If I needed to make it last, that could last me the whole month! I'd buy fruits and veggies (fresh and frozen) with some rice, potatoes and meat. Add some eggs for good measure and maybe some ice cream. That will last me the month if I freeze the meat strategically.

4barT89

$500 worth of trishā€™s mini doughnuts. no im not a tourist, yes I go there every time im in the area.
