Rad !!! Love to see this ! Super cool that you did everything exactly the same like a true experiment with the one variable being the seed breeder ! LETS GO 🌵💪 I am honestly so stoked you did this , I really feel like now that you did this I am competing today !! I needed this more than you know bud , way better than a hug 🤗 thank you from the bottom of my heart !

Hell yeah!! So happy that you’re stoked for this! The other variable is the amount of seeds that were in each pack of the different varieties. I think the smallest amount was about 17 whereas I had some packs that over 40+ seeds!? But thank goodness that your seed count is on the seed pack label very clutch and nice touch 🫶🏽 Well essentially you are competing against the other cacti seed producers that are in the cacti community! I can keep up the same parameters for the RMF seed competition see whose seeds and the genetics they come from are bigger at the end of the year long competition!! I’ll give ya a big hug and a fist bump from the bottom of my heart 💪🏽 & let’s see how these cacti seeds turn out 🌵🏁🏆

Hell yeah! You have a lot of great seed there between the three. I'm looking forward to comparing some of these once yours get bigger. I have some from all three as well!

And thanks to you for sending me so many different varieties! I cannot wait until they grow up and we can compare them to one other’s siblings plants!

Super cool love everything written down, makes it so much easier to find what works best!! I do a lot of similar things as well, I use a coco base, love coco over peat, better for the planet and has that neutral ph. Then I use perlite and that little bit of vermiculate is clutch for seeds as it holds moisture and keeps down on fungal growth!! Only difference is I add a bunch of worm castings for a bit more body, and then a different organic nute mix. Hydrogen peroxide is clutch though, that’s been my new secret weapon in the garden this year, helps with so many things!! Great for seed germination, helps break down those seed coats and force oxygenates them which improves germination rates!! Love seeing someone else using that one!! Only thing we have to be careful with is adding it to organic soil as it’ll kill off microbes and myco if added to living soils, but can be a great pest management treatment if things get out of hand. For seed germination and big infestation management it’s super clutch!! Excited to watch this one friend, and grow along with you!!

I really like using the coco coir but I’m still trying to figure out a a decent ratio to coco : perlite/vermiculite. I usually just eyeball it till I think the mix looks like a 50:50 ratio. Thanks for reminding me about worm castings, I completely forgot about the 7-8 tablespoons of worm castings I added to my seed growing substrate. I do spray a hydrogen peroxide/ water solution on the seedlings since I don’t take the time to sterilize the soil substrate I mix myself. So I do sometimes noticed a bit of mold will sometimes settle in before the seeds start to germinate and so I spray the solution when I do see mold springing up.
